The irony is that our societies are indisciplined and chaotic compared to western society despite this pitai and strict parenting. So its apparent that pitai does more harm to one's personality than improves it(like our parents like to think)

I have to say I like the fact that you acknowledged the long term affects of the pitai almost all desi kids get.
