Amazing place to live I can assure you 😊
It is beautiful there we enjoyed the coast roads allot
@@ontheroadadventure you need more than three days to discover all the beauty. I’ve been here 20 years and still exploring. Your review sadly comes across as quite negative as if you are an expert after three days
@@pcat1672 Let us know some of your favourite places there we didn’t find in this series, we will check them out next time
A lot of the best places need walking to 😂 for starters…Ventnor to Steephill Cove. St Catherine’s Oratory. Priory Bay, Culver. Quarr Abbey, Tennyson, Totland… But on two wheels just pick all the tiniest little lanes and go down them. You’ll never get lost 😂😂
@@pcat1672 If our feet get wet, we gone too far!
I've done three trips to Dorset this week. Over 1,000 miles. I used my Honda NC750X yesterday. I reset the trip before I came home and rode back "making progress". It still managed 75mpg!
Thats very impressive, More economical bikes do make sense, thats why the mid size bikes seem to be growing in popularity, people are looking for ways to keep the wheels going round
The Isle of Wight has naturally beautiful beaches and features. You could have explored places such as the Botanical Gardens at Ventnor, Alum Bay or Steep Hill Cove. You really did not see anything during your brief visit.
I’m sure there’s more to see here than we found this time, we were surprised to see how quiet the island is, where is everyone?
@@ontheroadadventure You probably visited at the perfect time for touring on your bikes. When the school holidays kick in the Island is full to the brim with families. Defiantly come back and explore again as there is so much more than Sandown and Shanklin, which is in need of a lot of love and deserves to be brought back to former glory. Some unscrupulous landowners (not from the island) own the big abandoned buildings and have left them to literally fall apart. It's such a shame. If only they could be demolished and tided up.
There are places on the isle of wight which are truly fantastic. Stunning beaches and villages. Not too many people.
A very special secret for those people who know about it.
I am very happy you didn’t find any of them ! Those who know would rather keep it that way.
I would recommend you not come back here in the future some of the comments from the bloke were very derogatory.
Yes the island has its problems like everywhere else. This is due to a dis -functional Council who are more interested in buying land and property on the mainland instead of using tax payers money for the island and not their own pockets .
I think a more greasy spoon holiday park type stay would best suit you . Not so much the girl but the fellas needs seem more high maintenance.
My wife and i holidayed there last month and i loved the roads.
The Coastal route is beautiful
I prefer the rundown old ex-London Underground tube trains which have been out of action for two of the past four years, and won't start running again until May 2025 .... at the earliest!
i came here once fell in love with the place and moved here a year later
Are there many empty properties? How is Prices here? We can see the attraction of the quiet life
I O W nice place but now you can see why I gave it a miss this year after 5 years on the trot.
Good mini series on the Island I did enjoy looking at the places I know so well.
Yeah i think thats fair, The place needs a bit of a update and a lick of paint to keep the tourists coming in
Always love it when you finish the day with a big plate of camp cooking. Sausage spuds beans and gravy best comfort food ever. On a personal level I'd swap the green beans for the baked variety but still with the gravy. Keep on travelling camping cooking and making me smile.😊
Thanks Dave, We love food as much as riding our bikes, its all part of the experience motocamping... I think we enjoy the challenge of it all
Next time you visit I'll show you the real isle of wight 😅 you missed so much xxx
Where would we go? we will go back at some point for sure
My missies would spend hours in the Christmas shop no matter what time of year, even after me and the girls have lost the will to live.
I was looking on bike trader earlier and there’s a gold wing with a trailer for sale and I thought of you two
That campsite dinner looked great, I remember when you did your first camp & cook. How you have progressed, you'll be doing your own camp cooking program next! 🤣🤣👍🏍
Yeah we knew we sucked at this when we started so the best way to get good at something is to go all in…. Sink or swim style!
Great presentation guys.
Would be interested in a summary of the costs / mileage ,overall impressions of the adventure of your Spanish journey
I’d say camping £30per night, one tank of fuel on the island will do you fine! The island is about 22 miles across. Ferry is about £30per bike each way. If you’ve not been before you should go 👍
Thanks, seemed like a nice end to the trip. I reckon you got your last meal right. Cheers
Cheers bud, not bad grub hey! We love it, it’s all part of the moto camping experience
Very interesting we lived on the island from 1973 to 1984 lived at ningwood for 7 years to open a
A family business felt very welcome got to know the area very well
Including the local pub the horse and groom and went to shelfleet primary school and
Westwight middle school ... But the island is a huge black spot of high unemployment
It’s a shame as it really
Is a beautiful place, it needs some help from the government to create new businesses and entrepreneurial spirit to get the place back to life
Those showers, never come across them until this year. Two of the campsites we stopped at up Scotland had them, I just kept hitting the button every couple of seconds lol
Its such an annoying thing, Im sure it doesnt save any water, i mean im still going to stay until im washed, its just you leave pissed off!!
Good job. Fun viewing from Melbourne, Aus. I wish it was that green and lush here!
Sadly with the green lush grass comes rain… lots and lots of rainy days
Nice little series guys, what’s next?
Youll have to wait and see!
Nice trip to the Island. Used to go there regularly, plenty to see and do and great if you have younger kids. You just have to remember it's a timewarp back to the 90s :D
Yeah a perfect place to bring children, it’s a bit odd in places but the scenery and coastline are lovely
Amazing video! Love following your adventures big or small 😃
Thanks for joining us, its all about switching it up and getting about on the bike
Another very enjoyable video,I retired December thinking we would be touring all over theUK particulaly Scotland, no chance, minding our grandchildren four days a week, crap weather and bloody jobs to do,ah well one day i'll be free. Thanks for sharing looking forward to the next one.
Im sure you love looking after them really! You got to get out there when you can though! Ride safe bud
Loved this little series. We go most years to the island and always manage to find something different to do. You missed the Poo museum 😂 though!
Yes! We had that one on our map but it we ran out of time the day we planned to go
There is a Christmas shop at the bottom of Cheddar Gorge that is open all year round.... take all sorts I guess. Looks like you had a good trip, I had not thought about the IoW until you guys made these video's. I think I need to get planning and go and surprise my mate Holly, who lives in Franklin.
Go for it, its defo worth a spin for a few days
You missed out on Carisbrook Castle and Queen Victoria's getaway Osbourne House. Both well worth seeing. Or even the steam railway.
Oh yes i know carisbrook castle ive been there before, we are spoilt for old castles in england so we dont get too bothered by them i guess
Thanks for the ride guys, nice one!!!
Our pleasure! Glad to have you with us
I enjoyed your trip to the IOW. We had our honeymoon there in 1976, camping on a GT550 Suzuki. It doesn't seem like it has changed much!
Did you go to Carisbrook Castle?
Lol I can believe that not much has changed! Great memories for you you guys though. We didn’t go to carisbrook this time, I have been before though
Currently in Croatia, which is hot with an amazing coastline. Backup through Slovenia and Austria to Czech Republic before home via Germany and the Ardennes, with a certain hotel in Bastogne being our traditional last night.
Some great riding, great local alcohol free beers and superb sea food.
Highly recommended.
Ride safe, onwards 👍
You recommend Croatia then? Its suppose to get mega hot and stormy in europe next week i think
@@ontheroadadventure the Adriatic Highway is an amazing sight. But the big cities on the coast are too much for me. I like quieter, and it's less expensive inland.
I think Slovenia is perhaps better riding, and of course Austria is fabulous as we all know.
We usually lay over in Innsbruck for a few days. Great to loop out from.
Can't pick the weather or we'd never travel.
I'm addicted to big mountains.
Ride safe.
Weather is crazy at the moment in Switzerland! We are deciding on where to go for future travels...
Great video once again guys. I picked up the new bike Saturday. I've been riding and riding non-stop Saturday and Sunday. We had some rain today but I did not care 😊. What did Eva sound like Paul McCartney when she said fairy Wonderland? 😂
Awesome, You need a few good rides to get to know a new bike. Ewa is the lady of many accents!
Loved where you went . Loved the heart shape scones . Made just for you two ❤❤. The fairy garden was sweet too
Thanks so much 😊 It’s a weird but sweet place
3:12 there is an all year christmas store in my state.
"Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland"
You wouldn’t think they find the customers all year but I guess they must do!
@@ontheroadadventure I am thinking of visiting the Isle in November 2024, it's just hard to get to from London (airport)
@@ontheroadadventure the novelty of the store becomes a draw plus older women ship for Christmas all year long.
Yeah public transport is always a nuisance, I hate being off my own bike
If you look on line you can get a thing that screws the button on the shower in and keeps it there, Try towsure😊
Thanks we are going to buy one and try it out!
A metal coat hanger cut and bent to shape with pliers keeps that shower button firmly in, trust me I know. Lol another great vid, than you.
Simple and effective! Love it!
Ahh i liked that mini adventure 😍 i think 2or 3 days would be enough to visit
Yes its well worth going over just to ride the coast roads and visit the garlic farm! 3 days is all you need though. Which area are you from?
Glad you enjoyed them IOW you should of visited the donkey sanctuary
Lol we have a donkey sanctuary here in Devon too
❤ another good one would of loved see rich's face trying the hot sauce though 😂
I bet you would!! 😂
Funnily enough there’s a “ Xmas shop” in Niagara on the lake ( near Niagara Falls). It’s open 365 days a year 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Pure madness! 🤣
Loved going to IoW as a kid, not been for years
Just back from Ireland completing the bottom half of the WAW
I bet not much has changed on the IOW since you last came!
I know what you mean, but it was over 60 years ago 😂
Someone told me Isle of White made pearls! Doesn’t she need a nice pearl to go with the new diamond!? 🤣 great mini trip! Campsite or campshite! That’s funny 🤣👍👍
SSSHHHhhh! You lot are costing me a fortune lol
Wight 😊
@@andychurches7280 🤦♂️
Enjoyed all your videos. Especially the recent European trip. Brill as always.
Thanks so much, a few local ones from us before we can hit the road again 👍
Nooo . . . Christmas shop 😩I work in retail and we start to get Christmas stock in August, sends me crazy! Great video as always 😘
Its madness, whos thinking about christmas in August... Most of us men dont consider it until Xmas eve at the earliest
@@ontheroadadventure damn right, bah humbug!
Lol
being a young local here its got a huge tourism boost since covid around 100k vistors its good in the sumemr winter is dead !
We couldn’t believe how few people there were around when we visited 🤷♂️
@@ontheroadadventure its rammed now !! and also having iow festival its even more rammed

Those sausages look nice ... just picked up a vstrom. To go travelling on...
Can’t beat some cumberlands! Which v strom did you get? Not that you can pick a bad one! We had the 250 for a short time and even that was good!
@@ontheroadadventure 650 XT ... high mileage but serviced every 3000 miles and used for European touring... sound familiar
Sounds ideal
Hi.. What are the road surfaces like, I was told there were a lot of potholes...😊
Same as the rest of the uk really, what we have come to accept as standard!
Some of the road surfaces are excellent, I was jealous.
its a bit different, very true! but it has its charm (in areas) lol
Isle of Wight is a unique place!
Another two weeks and I’ll be flying up north to pick up my new bike.
Whats it gunna be?
2024 CFMOTO 800MT
Can you get parts for them there easily? A friend of mine here had a 650 mt I believe it was and he had a couple problems with it, the last was a fuel pump went, he waited so long for the dealer to get parts to fix it that he gave up and bought a Honda cb500.
Stayed 2 nights in Nowy Sacz, Poland recently.
It was certainly different from anywhere else I’ve visited in the last 3 weeks on the road.
A bit dilapidated and grey and that wasn’t just the people. Few people acknowledge you on the street.
A different experience.🏍
Interesting. Did you enjoy your tour to Poland overall?
@@ontheroadadventure It was only 2 days in & out because I was at the border. The scenery around the High Tatras mountains is fabulous whilst the standards of roads varied. Petrol readily available & generally cheaper than Uk. Never far from a Lidl supermarket with familiar foods at silly low prices. What’s not to like. Apart from the recent heatwave.About a week of mid 30c.
Croc on 😎🏍
We really must go and tour Poland, the food is good there, we have ridden once before to go to Ewas family near Poznan, Crossing Germany feels endless! We liked the Netherlands though
@@ontheroadadventure I agree about crossing Germany. Endless.. Czechia ,beautiful.Holland, flat but I love the Dutch.
We did Netherlands by accident coming home from Poland and it turned out to be an amazing place we would like to return too
Great video but yes Isle of Wight have gone down it is not as well looked after as it was in the past. Would you go back there?
Sadly we have to agree, its feeling a little run down in the towns especially now, i think its now so cheap to fly abroad that the smaller seaside towns are struggling these days
Let's face it, it's just not the IoW that's past its best. I think you could apply that to a lot of England and possibly the rest of the UK. Those sausages looked absolutely delicious! 😋😋😋
Sadly I think you could be right. Uk holiday destinations especially now suffer massively as it’s cheaper to fly to somewhere ice than to go to the uk seaside!
Great video. You missed a couple of good places to go though.
Which ones?
@@ontheroadadventure Culver Down, Dairyman’s daughter etc.
Wondered why you couldnt get into the bike parking?🤔
There were bikes in it already
@@ontheroadadventure least it wasnt the usual coach with sleeping driver🏍️💨💨😈
There was a few of them in the carpark too
yes Richard it just to get you in theres no fairy's in that garden john
Well job well done lol, It is a bit of an odd place
Take care guys ❤️
Thanks so much
Whats that second campsite called please?
Also do you lock your tent when you leave it for the day. Never done camping and we are about to buy a tent and wasn't sure what people do.
Hi Kim, its Whitefield forest touring park. We dont have a lock for the tent im sure they do exist though to lock the zippers together. But if someone is intent on stealing from you they will
@@ontheroadadventure thank you 😊
No worries, Enjoy
@@ontheroadadventure Sorry, another question - what website/app do you use to search or book your campsites through please?
No Problem we use google in the uk, ioverlander in Europe. We tend not to book but just turn up, never had a problem like that yet
Awwwww how funny! Away with the fairies 🧚♂️ ✨️ 🧚♂️✨️
A weird and wonderful place the Isle of Wight! Have you been?
@@ontheroadadventureYep, i sure have. I've worked and played on that strange and wonderful island 😃
great vid again both
Glad you enjoyed it! See you in the next one
SHOWER MODE ENABLED:
Zip tie or whatever you wanna call em. Wrap it around the pipe and the button that keeps popping back out. 😉
We are loving all these solutions to the shower button issue! These ones were flush to the wall though so this solution wouldnt work on this occasion but we like your Style!
@@ontheroadadventure Sorry, stand on one leg then 😂
Haha good plan
It knows it audience and its the retired, elderly and people who enjoy peace and quiet plus quality
That’s a fair point well made
Take a small G-clamp or rock/luggage strap with you for showers like that. You can then shower for as long as you like without interruption in flow.
Oh G clamp is a good idea 👍
Isle of White. Croc on🏍🏍
Onwards! question is where next...
Sadly with the ferry companies charging upwards of 400 quid in the summer months to transport a car and 4 passengers to the island it will always be in decline. There is tons to see and do, all sorts of wonderful places to visit, you missed 99 per cent of them.
Wow that is outrageous for such a short crossing!
Bendy Cumberlands were looking good. You wouldn't get THEM in Spain!
Your Spot on there! Sausage n mash! Proper good grub that!
Looked good but I’m surprised Rich didn’t ‘request’ the chef to include some onions….spot on grub!
Well spotted mate, onions were missing... I will adjust my review!
Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Fun video! 👍🏍️🍺💪🇬🇧🇿🇦
Cheers bud, glad you liked it
Pa pa (bye bye) is Romanian. Does Ewa speak Romanian too?
We do use that in Poland, Must be a universal one
Better then being at work😂
Well that depends on what you do!
you say there's nothing there two you've missed carrisbrook Castle and Osborne house me and my late partner wen every year when a attended and annual bike rally
We would like to come for the bike rally perhaps one day. Ive seen Carisbrook Before on a previous visit. I think in Devon we are spoilt for castles
She said it’s shit then at the end she had a nice time!! Make your mind up love.
Best of both worlds
THe IOW is slowly, painfully dying on its feet, and that is exactly how the aging NIMBY population (by FAR the majority) like it. I lived and worked on the Island for a decade and now thankfully I have left it for good. Will never go back.
Sadly we have to agree. its still a pretty place and worth going for a couple days to ride the coastal routes but once you have been, you have been,...
When I lived in the UK the I O W was the one place where my Chinese wife and daughter weren't welcome - kids on the bus miming etc.
The Isle of White looks a little bit Wicker Man for me 😂😂😂
Well, i guess strange can be interesting too!
It's spelt Wight, not White.
It is a bit "Wicker Man" I only know cos I live there!!
@@alcatraz3539 🤣🤣
Definitely not on my list to visit bit like John o groats shite
Same at lands end!
@@ontheroadadventure lol
You need to stay away from the obvious tourist traps. The Island has a lot of hidden gems. A wealth of beautiful beaches, villages, history etc. I certainly wouldn’t recommend visiting Sandown. West Wight is lovely, as it’s not commercialised. Priory bay, Seagrove bay and Compton beach are just stunning. I would find it hard to live anywhere else. 😊
I wonder if Judith Chalmers ever said in her reviews "it's a pile o' shite!", brilliant!!
You will get no Sugar coated BS from us bud!
