Since usually pump casing are produced by sancasting, the external surface of the pump is more complicated than doing a simple offset. You need to add the draft angle, and merge those draft surfaces into the solid is the most complicated part of converting the 2d drawing of the casing to a 3D model. I have done a lot of those.
What is the difficulty of this type of designing,where we find so many irregular shape?Some of us are still are not in that level that we can design such things in one go, how can we approach to such type of designing? With as eloquent as you are in designing? And yes please make the full video..we will get to learn a lot .

This is done based on the available drawing that is why there is no draft added to the outer surface of the casing.
