    Excellent as usual! Enjoyed both your ABC and Khopra videos. I did this same route to Khopra from the east in 2018, brings back beautiful memories (I wrote a small book about it too!). The view from Muldai is truly unique and spectacular. That staircase from Dobato to Muldai did not exist back then, nor did the platform or swings. The track was more rugged too. Clearly Muldai is becoming more popular, for good reason. Has the Khopra community lodge been renamed to Barahee? Finally, I empathize with your comments on the last bit to Khayer, you indeed win some and lose some in the mountains. I look forward to more content from you! All the best.

      Thank you so much Shankar! As far as I understood the lodge at Kopra is now run by people from Powdar instead of people from Swanta.

    I can sympathize with your encounter with bad weather. I had intended to get to Kopra Danda on my last trek in Nepal in December 2018. But In Ghorepani the weather turned very cold and rainy, so we abandoned that idea and instead headed to Tadapani and down to Ghandruk and Jhinu Danda for a great soak in those less commercialized hot springs. Though I have been trekking in Nepal since 1974 I enjoy your narration of the treks with great details, maps and photography. I may be too long in the tooth now to get back with sandals on the ground.

      Thanks Bhante! Why don't you try a short and easy trek and see how it goes? Things changed a lot since then, but the mountains are the same.

    Another wonderful video. Any thoughts of staring at mountains outside of the Nepal Himalayas in the future?

    • @TheMenWhoStareAtMountains

      I regularly stare at the alps, because that's where I live. I like them but they're just not as stunning as the Himalaya, so I usually don't bother filming them.
      I might do a long distance hike in Japan soon. Maybe I'll film that. But no idea if my audience here would enjoy that.

    Hi, terrific video and info as always. We're doing ABC this April, the longer 10 day version with Ghorepani/Poon Hill included - would you recommend skipping Poon Hill and adding Dobato/Muldai viewpoint instead (or even doing both and adding an 11th day to our trek)? I did do Poon Hill as part of AC in 2002 but my wife/kids who are coming this trip haven't been to Nepal yet

    • @TheMenWhoStareAtMountains
      @TheMenWhoStareAtMountains  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Poon Hill is a bit easier to reach and the lodges in Ghorepani are much more comfortable than the ones at Dobato. So if that's important, stick to Poon Hill.
      However Muldai is a good bit higher than Poon Hill and also closer to the mountains. So the view is a LOT(!!!) better. Also it's less crowded.
      I'd definitely would choose Muldai.
      Of you do Muldai there's no point in doing Poon Hill too imho.
