The Evercade is such a sweet dose of nostalgia and doing games in collections is a great idea. It’s actually a capable device for some more graphically arresting games so hopefully they start getting some more PSone era games on it. Great video as always MJR! Hope you get to a million subs soon!
Well I'm glad I pre-ordered the founder's edition. Can't wait for all the new carts like the Renovation collection. All those expensive genesis games on one $20 cart..sold.
So you know ,at games handheld Sega flashback gives you over 80 built in games ,and make a file on the sd card called GAMES and load it with your best genesis bin roms, on the go or on a TV it's like a portable EVERDRIVE and it's licensed by SEGA ,,,
Simple is often the best, love the concept of these games, sometimes I feel modern games just shove so much in your face that it becomes a learning process rather than a 'jump in and have fun' scenario.
Exactly, alot of these PS5 current gen titles controls are WAY over engineered ,,the graphics are so over detailed and real-life looking (except Mortal Kombat 11 plastic shiny fighters com-on Ed Boon)that titles have a much harder time standing apart,,,,
I'll be super honest here. I own a big apology to the Evercade team. When I first heard about it I was highly confident that it would sink in the sea of cheap, clone, emulating consoles. Don't get me wrong, the concept sounded cool, but maybe it was the cynic adult inside me that grew to used to mainstream consoles (I've change since, but that is another story). Anyway, seeing the huge developer support and love it receives is awesome, so much support that I'm already planning getting one this holiday along with some carts. Evercade team, thank for show me how wrong I was.

I've put off collecting for handheld far too long. Have had my eye on Retroid for a while, Steam Deck might turn out to be good for emulation, and this is looks like a good option as well. Not to mention the Vita.
A wonderful collection of Evercade games already! Wow!! Top Gear and Top Gear 2 were the most famous racing games in the 16bit era in my country, Brazil.
Winter Challenge was better on PC, especially when it comes to the frame rate. Shame that we just got the Genesis/Mega Drive version. But since I have some nostalgia for it, I enjoyed it anyway.
I have an Evercade and all the cartridges they've released, really enjoying that feeling of nostalgia it creates, imo if Evercade wants to go next level it needs some of the better well known game labels like Neo Geo, Konami and so fourth.
Disclaimer: The display isnt as sharp as you can see in MJRs video. It is a pretty bad display. But hey it costs just 69,- €. Maybe there will be a MCWill Mod anytime in the distant future XD. The stationary system cold be a better go.

I wonder if creators of evercade will venture into more modern pixel/2d style indie games for their console at some point. They already doing good job with retro games and indie games that are based on retro style games. Be nice to see something like evercade playing some top pixel art and 2d games with them on the rom cartridges. I just love finding good indie games with physical releases with switch when i can. But i wouldn't mind seeing evercade doing that
It's great to see this cool handheld and all great games being released to it. I'm surely looking forward to buy one! About Summer and Winter Games, i used to have the PC version made by Accolade and looking back now it was a night/day difference comparing to the Genesis version. It would be cool in this case to have the best version possible of the game (through PC emulation).
Super Homebrew War seems a lot like Super Mario War. SMW is ridiculously fun with friends if you haven't tried it. I used to play it on my modded original Xbox.

I was going to comment the same but searched to see if someone else noticed. It's common for Amiga/ST releases to be incorrectly identified as DOS or console originals. Geographical reasons, I'd say.
Received carts 17 and 18 on Thursday ( day early 👍) and am loving the indie hero's. Worms will be class when the Vs is on the go, which I've pre ordered today, the version with two games and two controllers. I am totally hooked and order every cart. So far got most play out of my Atari collection's, Oliver twins (gotta love dizzy) and now indie hero's, but thing all carts have a place and are AWESOME! I've been blown away by how much I love collecting these carts, and can't wait to see what's next. I'm hoping Gamegear, monkey islands(maybe a Lucas games for other additional games like MI) and maybe something with football manager etc. Fantastic idea, well played Blaze. What carts would everyone else wanna see??

Just bought the console and the indie heroes game. I only found out about it yesterday but I really love the Idea behind it, it's clearly a product of passion and I'm really excited to get my hands on one. However, the one thing I can't get down with is the design of the console itself, the red printed lines and light grey plastic makes it look super cheap, I'm sure it'll feel good enough in the hands but Imo it looks a lot like a plug & play console you'd find in a bargain bin. Maybe I'm missing something, or perhaps it could even end up growing on me, but as of right now I'd much prefer even just a plain white console with just the Evercade logo, maybe we'll be able to buy replacement shells in the future

I think its a neat idea yeah but as a collector, I'd rather have originals. If I can't have originals, why not emulate on a bigger screen and on better hardware? I just don't get the appeal of this personally. Having these on a cartridge mostly feels gimmicky.

The appeal of this is retrogaming "licensed emulation"so people don't feel like federal criminals,,in a pocketportable standard format ready to play out of the box,,also the powers that be are trying to trick people into COLLECTING licensed rom-players such as SNES mini and ATGAMES Sega flashback consoles ,,it's a campaign nostalgia marketing and also ROM-SHAMING to reduce pirating ,,,

I've had two handhelds and both lose the HDMI connection really easily. Can't wait for the VS so that'll be a thing of the past.

I think its a neat idea yeah but as a collector, I'd rather have originals. If I can't have originals, why not emulate on a bigger screen and on better hardware? I just don't get the appeal of this personally. Having these on a cartridge mostly feels gimmicky.
exactly what i was thinking, it’s definitely a great idea for people who just wanna enjoy the games. but from a collectors stand point it just seems like it isn’t worth it.
The appeal of this is retrogaming "licensed emulation"so people don't feel like federal criminals,,in a pocketportable standard format ready to play out of the box,,also the powers that be are trying to trick people into COLLECTING licensed rom-players such as SNES mini and ATGAMES Sega flashback consoles ,,it's a campaign nostalgia marketing and also ROM-SHAMING to reduce pirating ,,,
