No it’s not the deisel motor. I was at my local dealer and they couldn’t get the car in for an oil change. I asked them to look up what they used on it the last time and they informed me a 5w30 dexos. So I went to the local auto store and picked some up. From my understanding (keep in mind I’m not a professional) but the difference between the 0w20 and 5w30 is minimal. But like I posted in the video you can check your owners manual or your local dealer to see what type of oil to use in your car.
@@kunertdiy Thanks. I'll study up on the viscosity differences. I was reading about the difference in using the pf64 vs the pf64r filter with different viscosity too. Thanks for the video, and the feedback.
First off Randy, you don’t have to use OW 20 if you’re in the Midwest and (temperatures get rather cold or in the northern central US)5w30 viscosity isn’t going to make that much of a difference regarding performance
Thanks for the video it really helped out! It does read 0w20 on the oil cap, though. I think I'll stick to that weight
No problem. Thanks.
5w30 offers more protection. The 0w20 is for better fuel economy.
When changing oil its always good to hold down the accelerator to disable ignition to let the filter fill with fluid before startup
That’s awesome I didn’t know about that. Thanks for the info! Will definitely try it next time.
or just fill the filter with new oil before reinstalling it
Or prefill it by pouring some new oil in it rubbing some on the gasket then install.
That's interesting you went with 5w30. Is that the diesel engine? The owners manual has 0w20 for gas 2018 engines.

Where do I reset the oil meter on the dash ?
Have you had any issues running 5w30 rather than the 0-20?
I didn’t have any issues when I ran it. But have since went to the 0w20 as is listed on the cap.
How does it have 2 oil filters
MT cruze is 0 20... sea dexos ?
Or you can touch the two filters together to lube the new gasket.
Never thought of that. Will try it next time.
Thanks.
First thing you want to do is buy yourself a set of ramps. I just do not understand why more people do not. So much easier and safer.
Agreed. I used to have a set when I was younger and need to get another pair. So much safer and easier allot of the time.
Thank you
Your welcome!
First , wrong oil it uses 0 W 20. Second use oem oil filter , the Ac Delco filter has been upgraded for synthetic oil use .
Filter doesn’t matter-just get a quality one. No filters are designed for synthetic vs conventional. they work with all types of oil.
It’s not the wrong oil you imbecile

@@tonyv7554 I've got 50+ MPG using OW20. I only get 42 MPG when using 5W20.
Thank you
