Good vid. Youre right on the part about how in the west its about keeping up with the jones'. Really gets on my nerves. Alot of my friends and family look at me crazy when i say i want to get rid of my car and that i dont want to buy an oversized house in the suburbs etc. That stuff doesnt make me happy and i dont care to fit in with people that value that kind of stuff. Id rather travel, be in nature and be a comfortable minimalist

Well done Paul! I love the Phillipines too. I’ve been watching your videos for a while and honestly you look much happier in your life. You cannot beat the tropical 🏝 paradise or nature in comparison too many places. The women are young , beautiful, and good hearted. The people are very sociable and very friendly. Thumps up 👍🏼☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

I observed there are 2 kinds of retirees -- one that looks a Europe due to the castles, coliseums and cobblestones and the other one that looks at Southeast Asia due to the nature. Paul is more of a nature-lover so I can see why he chose Philippines.

Really great, informative and insightful video Paul! God willing I'll be heading over there in March 2022. Me and someone else I know are traveling together to finally physically meet with our fiancé s, who we've been dating for about 3 years. I've rented an air bnb in Davao, because each fiancé lives about 3 and a half hours away in opposite directions. Anyways, the point is that being born and raised in nyc I've always had to have a level of aggression in order to survive, so it is going to be a very welcoming thing to experience the calmness and beautiful things of that country and its pe. Again, great post... Thank you!

With regard to the looks, the summer heat thaws out any lipids that accumulated during the snow-less winter there. Also, Pinoy culture is very outgoing. Hence, more opportunities to walk. And you won't even feel the walk (unless you have a condition like RA) because you are distracted either by the nature, the babes or just the surrounding. This makes everyone there, including you, shed pounds and look more attractive, and very important, healthier. Every time I go there, at start, I have a tight jeans on my waist, but at the end, I had to use a belt to tighten it as it keeps falling. Btw, I heard enough from you to like you Paul. Subscribed!

06:10 : This i think depends where you stay in the Philippines.
Generally speaking, those i have spoken to or those i know, its evident there are pockets of people who like to gloat, wear name brands, etc.
14:02 : Cheap living if you having a strong base currency, though i think cost of living has definitely increased a lot, not ideally "cheaper" with a currency less than 6x to the Peso would be a fair statement.
Acceptance , yes that' a huge thing to carry out. It takes time to manage for each important category for a person in the Philippines.
Not to be politically influential or being an expert, it is cool to chat to locals and understand "really" what they would like to see different here.
As an expat its great to come and live but at the same time you know u have option to leave and or you have an aircon or a nice shower at home etc...

Paul, a good clear 5 point synapses of why PI is so nice a place to live. Comparing notes w a Vlogger in Cavite who loves it (Steve) it sounds cleaner, quieter and more “law abiding” in the Cebu area than near Manila. Have you traveled up there? What do you think?

Pretty much covers all the basics, good chat..Thailand much the same…generally it’s pre-materialistic, there are some areas of course where people have a lot of “things”…when they talk cars it’s 1.4 or a 1.8 or a 2.0 if you live in a hilly area…I don’t like heat but when I’m there nothing hurts, etc…it’s up to an individual’s needs or wants…tak sa mycket..🙏🏻✌🏻🕊🇹🇭

when you like so much nature like you always say, you stay at wrong place in mactan. i think for myself there should be a place there where you have all advantages, close by to everything like mactan and around the corner full nature. i suppose can't have everything in one hand. i believe too, staying in relationship like you makes everything easier with a positive view

I guess many would try to live there too, but are too young or/and don´t work online & havent enough savings, so they can´t
Anynway im exited when i can come next year so i can see all that for myself ^^

5:37 I feel here in the US if you want to go out and approach girls to ask ask them out for a bite or coffee and you plan to, say, do it in a mall and ask as many as you can until you get one, you could almost certainly be reported by one of them or worse, by an "activist".

  • @mikemasters4382
    @mikemasters4382 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I don't understand Paul how you can be pressured into buying a rolex watch because your neighbor did. I never experienced that in the US, I don't think the US does that to you, I think you did it to yourself and now are looking to blame somebody or something else for the bad decisions you made. I see so many bloggers say similar silly things, blame the US on many of their issues, issues I never experienced because I don't blame others or the US. I am in with people who do this kind of stuff but never do it myself, it does not prevent me from being in with them.
Why oh why would anyone let their neighbor determine what they'd buy goes way beyond anything I could comprehend. Set your own path, don't follow your neighbor's path.
Choice is yours. I just bought a new phone recently on sale , paid $150 from Amazon, nice phone rated the best phone of all the budget phones. I don't need a top of the line I Phone to hang with people who have a top of the line I Phone, that is silly logic Paul. Nobody cares that I have a budget phone, so the only pressure you feel comes from yourself and your ego to keep up with others to somehow feel like you belong. If that is what another person wants for me to belong, to associate with them, then I doubt they'd be worth my time associating with them.

Your message was confusing today. At first, you mention that you can only see so many waterfalls and beaches, and then you go about explaining how much you love the nature there... Doesn't finding "real happiness" just boil down to knowing what makes you happy, being true to yourself and executing the plan? And I agree with you on the women there. Thank you for sharing.

It's a great place for an expat who doesn't need to work or only works 25 or 30 hours per week, but what about the poor Filipinas working 12 hours per day, 6 days per week as a caregiver or some other manual labor job, paying them only $7 per day, or selling fruit on the street, I think seeing all the poverty in the Philippines would bother me too much, along with the noise, including the roosters.

Paul would never be able to move back to the feminist controlled U.S. The U.S. women sometimes have their own money and a good job but that is usually the only positives about them. In the U.S. most men don't have young attractive GF's. I would rather just live single in the U.S. until Thailand opens up more so I can go back there. I may also travel to Philippines when it reopens I have never been there. I refuse to settle for what American woman have to offer as a GF or wife.

Your mate who wants to buy a sailboat & sail round the Philippines....
    Maybe a closer look.....
I have about 25k offshore miles & been going to PI since 84, lived in HK for 12 years.....
But... Piracy offshore espcially south of Palowan & of course in tje Sulu Sea forever.
Thieft inshore, about 2 metres of tide, 4 knotts of current ptetty much all over, lowsy holding ground wotj lots 0f coral so you drop the hook & your doing damage.
Just shy of 20 years in asia
& will tetore there but saling there.... Dangerous.
So will take my lady, fly out, & cruise in my 12 tonne steel sloop, probably in Atlantic as very likely war in wesyetn pacific coming which of course the yanks are horney to get going.... Big money & they can just draft all those "free" people.
Oh, the big commercial harbour on south end of Negros has hundreds of yachts,( best phoon hole around) and they are ALL, 100% for sale.
Yachts go to the Philippines to die.
