I dont play piano, but I am a musician, who has been a die hard tool fan since 1992, and I know all of their material thoroughly inside and out, and I can say with absolutely zero fear of contradiction, that you sir are extremely talented and on point with every single song that Ive listened and watched you play on here. Keep up the good work mate...
OMG, I've listened to Right in Two for almost 5 hours straight and decided to look for a video. I stumbled across this video and I've gotta say, man you are fucking amazing. You took an already powerful and emotive song and just rocked it. I'm now pissed I didn't stick with piano lessons. You should be on Tool's next album and that's no bullshit! Keep up the great work.
so i've commented on your videos a million times but i really just wanted to say this. Your covers of Tool are by far the best on this website. The mere fact that you include each member of the band in the song is amazing... This is the best piano cover of this song on this website. It doesn't need vocals, it's beyond amazing.
I seriously cannot stop listening to this. This is my 5th time today. You are so amazing, no doubts about it. You have a great deal of talent, and it's just amazing you're sharing it with the rest of us who cannot play like you. Beautiful music! Please do some more Tool songs. I've forgotten what good music sounds like, and this is it for me.
Very beautiful take on the song. Had my hair standing on end in a few parts. Every now and agail a group produces a song so moving, so haunting that you have to store it in as many places you can. On flash drives, In your TH-cam, on and external HD and of course on your iPod. This is one of those songs. Thank you!!
i wonder if in 100s of years from now, people will be learning this stuff in music school, like its our times equivalent to beethoven or someone like that. when you hear it like this it sounds truly classical.
Truly an epic conversion to the piano, this version is hipnotic and trance like in the way it draws you in and makes you want to listen again & again. Thumphery05 whoever you are thank you so much for this and your over great piano translations.
Duuuuuuuuuude...!!! u captured the tool´s spirit in your piano... this is the most incredible tool´s cover i´ve ever listen...Keep rocking. Cheers from Venezuela... Cosmos OUT!!!
I don't see sheet music and have never heard this version before. I would guess he's doing it by ear and that he has done it many times before. Truly awesome!
this song just shows how versatile Tool is. This piece of music just is fantastic, I really like it, just like 10000 days. I just can't get enough of it =D
This is one of Tool's most amazing songs. I'm proud to hear something that they created and be completely able to imagine that somebody lik bach wrote it.
If I only had no neighbours so I could play this on Volume 11 at 02:38am... I told you once before, and I will again: Your playing is absolutely totally infuckincredible!
I nearly enjoyed this more than the real song. Downloading and burning this for a friend of mine who hates rock music and loves classical stuff and I've been trying to get him into Tool for years. Thanks!
That's amazing dude! One of my favourite Tool songs on a different instrument...It sounds diffferent, but still awesome, and it gives it a haunting feel to it. Id almost rate this higher than the song itself. Thats fantastic work man! (Id post this on all the Tool songs you've done through piano but im too lazy)
@connectproject Touche about the sound quality, but actually, Monroe just takes patterns and notes from the part of the song he's playing and improvises off of them. Sometimes he does just play what is played on the guitar or bass guitar in the song but often he plays his own rythems to it. Listen to his Lateralus.
hey! That sounds really beautiful... You´re really good at it, good job. Sometimes people just ruin Tool works but you did it amazing. Awesome. Take care out there
i think he means when music is this beautiful it almost brings an emotional aspect to it. theres alot of things that claim to be music, but this is true music
ok even though thats me below i also wanted to know if there is anyway you could do a tutorial or sheet music or something, if there had to be one piano song i learn i want it to be this one
Thumphrey i love your tool covers so much..im a musician as well and i have probably watched this video hundreds of times. i have figured out right in two on piano and hopefully will have it up on TH-cam soon, but i don't have a video camera. ill be getting one soon. hope you don't mind. thanks man, keep up the good work :) Josh
oh man completely beautiful, everything was right on. i thought the tempo was approrpate, and the "emotion" that others said you lacked was def there...and i agree with JTNugget, this is going on my mp3 player
Fantastic work...still confused about one thing though...Does everyone who makes these videos purposefully turn the camera just enough degrees off so that no one else can learn it too without breaking their necks?
dude gjees, really relaly nice, how do you come up with the notes? listen and play? i really enjoy listening to this music =D and like karmistry already said, it really is refreshing and moving to hear one of tool best songs (on 10000 days and in the whole) played on a piano. Keep up the work =D
this was recorded with a microphone (not album quality but pretty close), i bet you could play it pretty loud. but yeah i'm not gonna bother with getting tools permission, just gonna keep them up for download
@Williama15k I'm not talking about lyrics. I just mean the sound of a voice as an instrument. I think we can all agree that while Tool makes incredible use of all sounds, Maynard's passionate singing is a critical part of their music, especially in songs such as Lateralus or Rosetta Stoned (10,000 Days is of course a prime example. I just haven't seen Adam Monroe cover it.). That's just why I prefer Monroe. This guy is still really good.
Great job, and thanks! Tool is one of the rare bands whose somber tunes lend themselves nicely to piano versions. This clip is more accurate than your last post of this song (I think it was you...) - but, for some reason I liked that one better - maybe it was just louder, kek. And I can see the keys clearly and force my girlfriend to play it for me - thanks!
2:54 this guy's left arm is fucking teleporting. This tyler guy has fucking opened his third eye, utilizing the forth dimention to do some balls-to-the-walls crazy fucking shit!
Cheers :) It wasn't too bad actually, I could already play quite a bit of it on guitar though, so didn't have to spend ages deciphering the notes. My reach isn't as big as his, so I have to play the low D during the verses with my right hand then leap up for the vocal melody, which was pretty tricky to get used to. Right in two is looking like being quite a bit more work.
Over a decade of watching this video and I still get tears.
Best song on this album. The way you play it is indescribable.
I dont play piano, but I am a musician, who has been a die hard tool fan since 1992, and I know all of their material thoroughly inside and out, and I can say with absolutely zero fear of contradiction, that you sir are extremely talented and on point with every single song that Ive listened and watched you play on here. for someone who just started learning to play tool on piano... this is the best thing i could've possibly seen. thank you soooo much
This is one of my favourite songs of all time and this is my favourite cover by far.
Excellent work! 5* :)
I seriously cannot stop listening to this. This is my 5th time today. You are so amazing, no doubts about it. Thank you!!
this is actually the most quality piano version of a song ive ever seen!!!
More than amazing... It´s incredible how you transport the melody from the song to the piano
i wonder if in 100s of years from now, people will be learning this stuff in music school, like its our times equivalent to beethoven or someone like that. when you hear it like this it sounds truly classical.
man, you did this song right. and you took it and ran with it in your own direction, too. really good job, man.
tool should be proud to have a musician like you as enthusiastic about their music as this. play on brother.
Truly an epic conversion to the piano, this version is hipnotic and trance like in the way it draws you in and makes you want to listen again & again. Thumphery05 whoever you are thank you so much for this and your over great piano translations.

I don't see sheet music and have never heard this version before. I would guess he's doing it by ear and that he has done it many times before. Truly awesome!

Oh man what an excellent capturing of the essence of this song! I wish I could play like you!!!
This is one of Tool's most amazing songs. I'm proud to hear something that they created and be completely able to imagine that somebody lik bach wrote it.
amen brother, i've been waiting to hear that for a long time.
So beautiful.
I'm not even kidding.
It's completely amazing.
I can't believe it.

If I only had no neighbours so I could play this on Volume 11 at 02:38am... I told you once before, and I will again: Your playing is absolutely totally infuckincredible!

Thanks for sending me into such a deep trance. You have a true gift. Never let it go.
Very good. You capture the moods of all your covers very well. Impressive. I played along with my bass...
Oh, wow.
Thats amazing.
I love this song, love the band, love this video.
damn your good ive seen like all your videos now, lateralus is probably my favorite, nice work with the solo parts on that one
I can´t stopp listening to your melody
I got goosebumps less than 10 seconds in.
I have to work tomorrow and it's like 1:40 in the morning but I can't sleep cause these kids are so awesome!!!
beautiful interpretation of a great song

Sorry to resurrect such an old video, any chance we can get a re upload of the sheet music since the megaupload link is long since dead?
epic and beautiful interpretation!
What I find really unfair is that your hands can span across 10 notes or something crazy, I envy you for this and curse my small hands.
Simply beautiful....
SWEEEEEET! do you happen to post any sheet music with this stuff as well? I'd love to get my hands on some of that.
