I agree and the sad part is that Moderates of both parties get overshadowed by the Hard left and hard Right. People act like we don't exist. when we are the majority
Lifelong republican here. I’ve been watching this show for a decade and I have agreed with 80 percent of what he says. Just goes to show you that most of us want some common sense government with pathways for all to succeed.
The reason you agree with 80 percent of what he says is because 80 percent of the show is dedicated to Bill's conservative beliefs, and the other 20 percent is him vaguely acknowledging that the republican party is a little too far right for him.
@@criticalhorizon Yeah, Bill has never been a classical liberal. Not sure which of his beliefs outside of climate change (which is only a divisive issue in America) would count as liberal.

States with the most teen and single mothers: Republican. States with the lowest average life expectancy: Republican. States with the highest rates of infant, child, and maternal mortality: almost exclusively Republican. States that rely on the most assistance from the Federal Government: almost all Republican. States with the highest gun violence and homicides per capita: almost all Republican. Majority of debtor states: Republican. States with the least job opportunities and prospects: Republican. States with the worst prevailing wages: Republican. States with the highest levels of poverty: mostly Republican. Rape capital of the US: Republican (Alaska). You hit the nail on the head here Bill. As a Latino from Mexico, we absolutely hate the term LatinX. The only Latinos who use this stupid term are indoctrinated college students.
It's used every day and everywhere here in Santiago campuses, from the public U de Chile to the private and expensive UC, and on every street protest in between. I'm so used to it now!
@@jenplinguist That's quite stupid then, isn't it? It's obvious by the choice of "x" that it's an English-language imposition and not a Spanish-speaker's creation. I don't think US Latinos would hate the word (or some other formulation) so much if it wasn't coming from outside their culture.
Facts! Born and raised in san Antonio, half my family is Mexican. You better not call them Latinx. They'll tell you straight up I'm Mexican! Latinx strips them of their nationality. They're are so many different countries and nationalities it's ridiculous to lump them all together.
I agreed with most of what he was saying EXCEPT for the student loan forgiveness part. Um is Bill aware that its the liberals want to make college free for everyone as well?! which means all the poor kids would get to go to college! debt forgiveness is just a stepping stone to achieve that ULTIMATE goal cause otherwise people who are in debt currently wouldn't support it cause they would think its unfair to them!
yea the Republicans are just doing dandy. Texas wants to succeed, the majority of Republicans believe the big lie, and Trump is your leader. yea Republicans are on top now.

I am so sick of how our system forces us to choose a person with a specific identity instead of being able to vote on individual policies. It's asinine. When I go out and find a job I have to show I have the skills and then do what my employer tells me to do and how they tell me to do it. But when a politician gets a job they go and do what they want to do and force it down our f****** throats. Who's the boss here? It should be the people not the politician.
@@gregorycerven3484 true but the big money in their pocket isn’t from us it’s from big corporations with their own agenda. We’re just minority stock holders in this country. Hardly enough to have voting stock
Problem is, their REAL employers are their party and party donators. Until we limit how much money they can have to run a campaign, they are beholden to them. This is a major corruption in our system.
The cause of this is our "first past the post [finish line]" electoral system that guarantees that there can only be two parties, thus drastically reducing, if not eliminating, accountability by our elected representatives. This could be solved by instituting an instant runoff / ranked choice voting system where people can vote for their preferred candidate without having to worry about "throwing their vote away". When voters feel free to actually vote for the best candidate, rather than just the one who seems most electable, that gives the best candidate a chance to actually *_win._*
Part of the reason Maher has such a good grasp on these issues and why the Democrats are screwing it up so badly is that he is willing to talk with people on the other side of the aisle. Even if he doesn't agree with them, he is able to understand where they are coming from, and that really shows in this bit.
Somehow, democrats seem to have gotten this advice of "do not interact with conservatives because they're all fascists." Not only does that backfire but it's the kind of thinking Stalin or Mao would have promoted.
A "good grasp on these issues"? The same thing is said about Joe Rogan by so called 'liberals'. Both pander to the bigotry of whites and both agree with the RWWS racial extremists they invite on.
Can't tell you how good it feels to have someone with the reach of Bill Maher talking sense right now where everyone and their mom is a political activist, and everyone is just screeching "partisan truths". I really miss George Carlin right now. 🙏

The Crazy left, the crazy right, and the in the middle need to start watching these videos.
He's right about "birthing person." Somewhere out there, there's a pregnant man, and I'm pretty sure they are intelligent enough to know that they are trans and not get offended when someone uses the term "women." They know they are in a tiny, tiny minority of people and are an exception to the rule. We don't need to base our language around rare exceptions.
The thing is that this particular issue is a scaled representation of the entire Democrat problem. ie catering to hyper vocal micro minorities that scream for attention while the actual majority of their voters first go unnoticed in elections, and then begin to feel themselves made into unheard minorities because of it - leading them no recourse but to try the other team regardless of how disgusting they have made their position before, at that point all it takes is for GOP candidates to make bare minimum token gestures on the campaign trail and they can grab these disaffected voters for a song. It's one thing to address such issues after elections where you can hold a small PR event for a local newspaper and crow about making a win for them by sliding a provision into a new bill - but FFS Dems leave it out of the election cycle, and leave it out of the national debates!
@@mnomadvfx The "actual majority of their voters" tend to be a hodgepodge of minorities. It was black people in South Carolina who voted for Biden because he was the first black President's VP who give Biden his first primary win and after that the party basically pressured everyone else to drop out. No white person has "no recourse" but to vote GOP. The GOP is into voter repression, removing women's rights, attacking LGBT people, keeping the minimum wage down, kissing up to dictatorships, repealing Obamacare, almost no restrictions on guns, tax giveaways to the rich, doing nothing about climate change, etc. What on earth does a white voter need so desperately that they're willing to accept all of that in exchange? I ask as a white person who joined the Democratic party in 2008 from being an independent because being an independent implied there were at least two functioning parties to choose from and that no longer existed (and boy did I turn out to be right about that!). The GOP is running this year with NO LEGISLATIVE AGENDA. Mitch McConnell apparently figured they'd do better with no formal policy positions at all than to say what they intended to do. He got mad at one Senate candidate who made his own list of pledges, including that "everyone has to pay some tax" (meaning a massive tax increase on the lowest income people, retired seniors living on Social Security, etc.), forcing kids to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school, and other crazy things. McConnell told him off but it makes clear what the priorities are. In 2020 the GOP didn't even pass a party platform at their convention! The party's agenda was apparently just "elect Trump". That was historically unprecedented. The only issues I hear Republican candidates running on are the same culture war issues, just the opposite end... they're obsessed with who uses what bathroom, women's sports, rolling back gay rights, holding hearings about right-wing conspiracy theories (pro, not con), making it harder to vote, and all sorts of other unimportant crap. It's not like they've renounced "free trade" and have a plan to build back American manufacturing, help the American cities with the worst crime or unemployment, or anything of actual substance. They just want to "own the libs". What Maher is complaining the Democrats are doing he knows full well the Republicans mastered a while ago (which helped give us Trump).
Bill's overly obsessed with the language of some liberals. I don't know ANY liberals who talk like OC. He needs to chill with the social media, change the channel and get new liberal friends.

lol exactly if it wasn't so actually depressing, it would be HILARIOUS to me that people actually still think politicians and "elected officials" actually fight for their interests, and not those of corporate lobbyists etc. Politics aren't about helping / serving the people, it's about USING THE PEOPLE. It's all just a game to them, and at the end of the day not a single one of us fucking matter to them in the slightest. people need to realize this
Which is why Trump was soooo good and they hate him. Because he is wealthy and don’t need the special interest money. Everyone was doing better under Trump, except politicians.
You can donate and lobby politicians too. "Vested Interests" really just means "people who actually care about what's going on". Example: the IRS had a rule where if you wager at a racetrack and you win a bet with a certain payoff - I don't remember, say 200-1 - you have to sign a form and they without the maximum possible taxes from the payout and you'll have to get the money back at refund time if you're below the maximum tax bracket. The big problem was that they didn't count losing wagers on the same bet. Odds that high generally result from exotic bets such as picking the winners of the following six races. Few people buy just one ticket on wagers like that, they might have bought 50, 60, 100 different tickets. Obviously only one could win. It only seemed fair that that 200-1 rule should only be if that payoff exists after you deduct all the losing tickets; the actual return, say, might only be 50-1. Horseplayers decided that trainers and jockeys and owners had their own groups and it was time for the customers to do the same and formed a Horseplayers' Association. In addition to dealing with issues at various tracks that affect players they hired a lobbyist who went to Washington and explained to lawmakers about the IRS rule and how it screws people over. Horseplayers contribute a lot through the significant taxes taken out of winning wagers and by withholding money on tickets that really weren't 200-1 it was making it much more difficult for people to have a winning season, discouraging play. Finally, after decades with this rule, the IRS announced a tentative change in the rule and invited comment at the behest of a lobbied politician. Horseplayers voiced their support, no one objected, and after this rule screwing horseplayers for decades it finally got changed thanks to lobbying efforts. In regards to "vested interests" I'd say "Don't beat them - join them!"

Let begin by saying, a very noble effort sir... but let's examine this, shall we? *_the wall was a terrible idea. If the wall doesn't help, then why are the Dems so dead set against it? *_Most illegals come into the country legally, they just overstay their visas_* Correct *_because GOP politicians have been making progressively more difficult for them to obtain work visas._* Wrong Take - the GOP politicians just favor people who are already here. There are countless videos online of people climbing the wall (or a copy of it) even without any gear._* Nobody said it was flawless... but it is a deterrent and it slows them down so that border security agents can get there to stop them. Your eyes just might get opened. *_Trump never drained any swamp. He made it deeper by putting a bunch of yes-men in his Cabinet_* Wrong take - Any person in that situation wants his cabinet to back their policies. Ever POTUS has done that - from both parties. He had his family run his business while he was POTUS. Ask the "big guy" and his 10% from his son Hunter. Btw - it should be noted that Trump was the first President in decades who's personal wealth DECREASSED while in office while others (from both sides of the aisle) dramatically increased. *_by wasting taxpayer money on constant golf trips, by forcing people to pay his own resort because Camp David isn’t up to his standards of opulence_* Biased Take - Trump liked to golf, but not as much as Obama. According to Newsweek, Trump golfed, on average, 35 rounds per year (not including during the scamdemic - which would have lowered Trumps average significantly). Obama averaged 41 rounds per year - 6 more than Trump. But Obama was so much better, not - alas - that is a debate for another day. Biden's trips to Delaware is costing over $3 Million just for the Secret Service alone. And according to CNN, Biden has taken 35 personal trips and spent 108 of his first 276 days in office at one of his Delaware homes. Russia didn't do sh!t when Trump was POTUS, same goes for China and North Korea too. *_Not to mention that what happened with the SCOTUS is on his head._* Tell me, what exactly and very specifically did Trump do with SCOTUS that any other president would not have done or tried to do in the past? Are you suggesting that the Dems would not have blocked any of the 3 Trump appointed SCOTUS justices if they had the numbers in the house? Wake up. Is it Trump's fault that RBG didn't retire when she should have, in Obama's first term, to allow him to select her replacement? I notice how you very conveniently failed to mention that if the DEMs had their way, they would've expanded the SCOTUS seats to flood it with far-left leaning justices to get the results they wanted. Also noticed how you very conveniently failed to mention how Barrack Obama tried, and failed, in his last year as POTUS to do the EXACT same thing when Scalia died and nominated Merrick Garland. Where was the calls to wait and let the new incoming President nominate the new SCOTUS justice. *_None of that is about his personality but about his actions as president_* ...and every single point you made was either completely wrong or extremely biased, cherry picked points with no context given. When I asked you *_Are you sure about that? Or do you just believe blindly the lies the MSM spews about him?_*, it looks like I have my answer. Merely spraying vitriol at right wing politicians and their voters is neither constructive nor likely to make any difference in the modern environment where people have become proudly tribal/cultish in nature about their chosen political party affiliation. Yeah, and 20 years ago ABC fired him. When I think of Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, I really miss the 1990s, and the 20th century for that matter.
Opening panel interview segment was great. The two on the panel tonight echoed how most gay men and lesbians feel (I being one of them). We are constantly silenced for being politically incorrect by the new additions of “QAA+” who always seem to be people in heteronormative relationships and cis gender bodies who adopt terms like “non binary”, “queer”, “asexual” “aro ace”, “gender fluid”, claim to be us, and tell everyone else how to speak. Gays and lesbians are silenced all the time in LGBTQ+ spaces for saying common sense things like the two on the panel said tonight. Idk how many times I’ve seen legit trans folks silenced by non binary and gender fluid people too. The neo-pronoun crowd needs to get their own club. Andrew is right. Gays and lesbians have been the most pro-free speech folks out there and for generations it was all we had. The new QAA+ are hurting us in the mainstream sphere. Gays and lesbians and bisexual people are who are on the front lines. We get all of the hate lobbed at us for ideas that aren’t ours that largely belong to “college aged women with blue hair” as the panelists so aptly pointed out. Meanwhile they’re spared from the repercussions they create because they largely exist in heteronormative relationships and cisgender bodies. You don’t even have to be a woman who is attracted to women in order to call yourself a lesbian anymore (not referring to transwomen here). Spot on my experience in the LGBTQ+ community in the last five years or so. I’m extremely progressive and find myself being silenced constantly for just questioning things that don’t make sense and that undermine gay and trans existence. I also couldn’t agree more with the over diagnosing of gender dysphoria. I heard all of the time when I was growing up that everything I liked was meant for boys and that I acted like a boy and that I was a boy in a girl’s body. I’ve told people so many times if I were growing up in today’s world I would have been diagnosed as a trans kid when in actuality I was just a lesbian who had gender confusion because I didn’t fit into the mould of what a female is supposed to be and every adult (and lots of kids) made a point to constantly tell me that I wasn’t being a girl the right way. Instead of telling me that I was a girl and girls can be all kinds of things/like all kinds of things and still be girls. I grew out of my gender confusion and am totally comfortable as a woman. But all through my childhood I thought I was in the wrong body. I wasn’t. Our society is just closed minded on the variance of experience one can have as a human female. Especially when I was a kid. Gays and lesbians are most susceptible to being misdiagnosed as trans when they’re just gay and lesbian kids.
Thank you for sharing your story and agree fully! I would add that many relatively feminine hetero boy and masculine hetero girls are also affected. As a hetero cis man who grew up around many gay, lesbian and even one trans women who were my mom's friends, I am truly appalled at how the current climate is set not only to ruin the lives of many such young people, but is also now begining to seriously help empower the bigoted religious right as well, though now often with a "conservative libertarian" cover... With both extremes being increasingly empowered and co-leading this society even while fighting each other, may God help us! 😥
I worry about what all this is going to do to the rights we older gay and trans people fought so hard for. We are already all getting painted with the brush of the extremists. I have also noticed how many of these culture warriors are in straight relationships.
I have so much respect for Bill Maher. I used to think he was just alright. But I'll be honest, I'm onboard with 99.9% of everything he says. He is easily disliked, and not due to him being a horrible person. He is disliked because he speaks honestly about subjects, no matter who agrees or disagrees with him. Instead of persecuting comedians for their opinions on the important current issues, maybe we should see them as simply what they are... opinions. No one is making anyone come to his, or any other show. Logical thinking, once again, at its finest. Thanks Bill!
Honestly as a third generation Mexican American I see any politician that works with a party as corrupt. But it’s hard not to belong to a party these days when people are convinced that The only way to win is to belong to a party. So know one votes for the independent people. G Washington our first president said parties are a awful thing, and I think he was right.
Bill, you could've gone so much more in-depth with the Asian-American issue. It isn't just about gifted programs, it's about affirmative action policies in higher education, straight up trying to reduce Asian student enrollment in elite public high schools, and defunding the police when anti-Asian hate crimes have surged 335% in the past year. So yeah, Asian-American voters have had enough. Democrats sure as shit aren't our lawyers.
Legacy admissions harm Asians in higher education exponentially more than affirmative action. But you won't bite the hand that feeds you so instead you target those on the rungs below. Cowardice.
Anti-Asian hate crimes have surged because the orange-faced fascist kept screaming CHINA VIRUS and KUNG FLU to his mob of deranged hillbillies and said for 4 years that China took all of their jobs away when it was his corporate donors who sent those jobs away to maximize profits. But sure, vote for that again.
Speedy was a creative, intelligent character who had great survival skills and could outwit the mean old pussy - gato every time. Apu was an industrious, hardworking business man. Bill Maher is the best. He nails every issue right on the head, points out where the problems are, and doesn't worry about hurting someone's feelings in the process. Because the truth hurts, and the world isn't about making everyone feel good. Sometimes things are going to hurt. That's life. Thanks Bill! Keep going and never stop! We need more people like you speaking up!
I remember when Bill was considered a heavily left leaning personality. The left has pushed so far left that he's now considered a centrist by most standards and a rightwing grifter by the woke mob.
Oh man, the crowd I used to hang around with online all scream "Maher is a racist! Maher is a sexist!" if you even brought up his name. They also denounce Michael Moore as "stupid", etc. These two were the rocks of liberal media commentary for 20 years, I mean "Rodger and Me" is a classic... but the youngsters were all obsessed with "free trade", and telling me that factory workers are all white racists who voted for Trump so they don't care what happens to their towns or their jobs and they just need to find another job or move. I decided to move myself out of the circle of people who think like that instead. I don't think it's just me getting older and getting all "you kids keep off my lawn"; the younger political activists today are self-important thanks to growing up with social media which at the same time insulates them in ideological bubbles more than ever possible before so they're perspectives are even narrower and ability to reason and deal with people with different ideas practically crippled.
What leftist would go from supporting Bernie Sanders to supporting Amy fucking Klobuchar (like Bill Maher did)? No leftist would that, i. e. Bill is NOT a leftist!
If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be DVR'ing Bill Maher & sending these youtube clips to my friends & family, I would have told you exactly how INSANE I thought you were. Yet, here we are...... 🤯🤷♀️ Thank you, Bill, for being the voice of reason in this bizarre twilight zone that we all have found ourselves in. Keep it up!
People have accused Bill of changing his views but it's not his views that changed but what the Democratic party has become. The same could be said about the GOP. I grew up a Truman Democrat and a Reagan Republican and I can hardly recognize the two parties
That's the first thing I thought lol. I'm surprised at Bill because Latinos have never been offended by speedy, He's a pop icon in Mexico and in Latin America, and I think Hispanic people had to fight to get him back on TV after a bunch of woke white people in the '90s decided to cancel him because they THOUGHT he would be offensive. Not because anyone actually complained.
That's the problem with these shows. They are quite entertaining. The people who create them know this and use it to plant ideas in the heads of their feeble-minded audience.
I thought it was good, up until the last 15 seconds, when Bill lets his TDS get the best of him. Because nothing screams Democracy like keeping a popular candidate off the ballot. And where would Johnny Depp be without cross examination? That's the J6 Stalinistic show trial!
I totally agree. He had me all the way till the end. I want my lawyer to do the opposite of his on the election issue. But we all don't have to agree on everything to respect each other
I may not agree with Bill 100% of the time, especially his stance on Millennials and Gen Z, blaming us for the current condition of the country/world, when THEY'RE the ones now in charge with all the Money and Power. But, he does bring up a lot of issues that aren't covered by the regular media, and I have to say I agree with him 93% of the time. His show should still be called, 'POLITICALLY INCORRECT.' But still, I have nothing but the utmost RESPECT for him, despite his blunders. Even him using the N' word out of ignorance. I mean, the guy has Ben Shapiro on his show to hear his stance (who, IMO, should be lynched and/or burned at the stake). If THAT isn't Politically Incorrect, I don't know what is, lol.
Bill Maher is a worthless shill. Have any of you ever heard of the 1942 USDA film, *Hemp for Victory?* In all of the years that Bill Maher has been on television, he has spoken numerous times about how much he loves to smoke weed, but never once bothered to educate his audience about the fact that "Marihuana" was legalized to save the world from fascism and genocide during World War II, and that doing the same thing now will stop climate change. The 13-minute, 42-second 1942 US Department of Agriculture video *Hemp for Victory* is the key to reducing unemployment, reducing poverty, reducing hunger, reducing homelessness, reducing health care costs, reducing crime, reducing police brutality, reducing government spending, reducing political corruption, reducing pollution, replacing fossil fuels, ending deforestation and stopping climate change, all at the same time. There is an official .gov link to the film from the US National Archives. It has been public since 1990. There was a bill in Congress titled HR 3652, the *Hemp for Victory Act of 2019.* The USDA reported in Bulletin 404 in 1916 that one acre of Cannabis can make as much paper as four acres of trees. Ford made a plastic car body in 1941 with hemp, and the Diesel engine was designed to run on plant-based fuel. This means that for at least the last 80 years, we could have made all of our paper from hemp, and cars and fuel for those cars from hemp, without cutting down forests or drilling or fracking or waging war for oil, and thereby averting climate change altogether. It is because industrial hemp can replace trees for paper and construction, and replace petroleum and petrochemicals for transportation fuel and plastic, bankrupting the timber and oil industries, that Cannabis Sativa was labeled "Marijuana" and outlawed as a "dangerous" drug.
Bill, I love you with all of my heart and wish you a good happy life if this insane world. God I love rationality and logic and those who speak it. Objective, fair thinking people.

That's funny I thought he shit the bed pretty badly here. He was wrong about loan forgiveness and pretended like the problems on the right can even remotely be equated to those on the left. When someone goes extreme on the left people get hair dye and vegan lunches. When people on the right go to extremes, people lose their lives and the very foundation of this nation is eroded. By trying to play the middle, Bill has become a joke.

HBO picking up Bill Maher was the best decision of that network, lol.
I agree with him a lot. A few things not. But if we sat down in a room when we disagreed, I bet we could come to a compromise. That is the new party we need. The "Unity Party". A party that considers the government's position as 'by the people, for the people,' instead of just "Half of you at a time."
Currently it's more like the "let's not do anything to really offend the other half" and the "let's do everything to make the other half hate our guts" halves.
@@666Tomato666 Indeed it is. Good point. And I am sure that was just the way it was intended. Only really rich people need apply when they are selfish enough to take bribes and lets pay them about triple the average salary for not showing up to work. It's not that. They talk the talk but if you see what they actually do, red and blue are just two factions of the Big Business Party. Your job is to vote for them and then keep quiet.
There's a problem with too many people waiting for a third party to come along that fits all of their positions while they continue to vote red or blue while holding their noses. People don't even consider candidates from the minor parties. They just keep voting blue and red, because they buy into the notion that no one else can win. Well, someone else can win. People just have to break from the false duality of red/blue. I've had many conversations over the years with people who are dissatisfied, and I've always suggested they vote for an alternative party candidate (like I've been doing since I was first able to vote, back in 1985). I almost always get the same confused look and a response that's some variation of, "But they can't win." If a Unity Party were to come into being, it would garner a negligible number of votes, because people would say, "But they can't win." We have the power to change things now, but I sincerely doubt we ever will. We have alternative parties, and if everyone who's dissatisfied with the major two would vote for any of those other parties instead, we'd see change. They don't even need to win. All they have to do is make it to a double digit percentage of the total vote to shake things up in a big way, which would be an excellent start for real change. People have to get out of the "lesser of two evils" mindset and adopt a mentality of voting for the most good of many (whatever that means to each individual). One of the current minor parties might then organically rise up to be that "Unity Party" for which you long, but people have to vote anything other than Democrat or Republican for that to happen.
Agreed 👍 if you say Latin X in Laredo TX you just might get your ass kicked even though I am more aligned with the left they definitely do kringey and nonsensical things at times and lose focus about important things.

We were energy independent under Trump but Billy boy suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome and doesn't want to go back to that. Jan 6 hearings are a political witch hunt much like the Russia collusion BS.
Oil independence would not affect the cost of gas in the US. The oil market will source their oil from whichever country is cheapest. The price of oil is set purely by consumer demand. During Covid, demand was at a record low for almost 2 years so worldwide prices stayed low . As soon as lockdowns ended and people were allowed to travel again, demand for gas increased massively and prices reached record levels all over the world. It’s called Free Market Capitalism. You want the government to regulate gas prices. That’s socialism.
Our problem is the two-party system. Sure it worked for a while, but it’s natural progression was to always continuously separate and divide. Moderate politicians are ineffective because if they vote for common sense or what they believe and it doesn’t fit with their party, they get criticized.
Exactly. If congress (at least the House) had representative representation, where each party got seats according with the number of votes backing them, smaller parties would appear in the middle. And if the Democrats and Republicans insisted on increasing polarization, those parties in the middle could grow quite large, and get a lot of power.
Here in Germany there are 7 parties in parliament right now. I Can confirm: It incentivizes them to compromise and turns down the volume of extreme voices. It feels healthy.

I never thought in my life time Bill Maher would be the voice of reason. I use to belong to the Democratic Party in spirit and I still do on paper but they left me a long time ago though I still vote for the person not the party. It is happening to many other of my fellow Democrats. Most voters are slightly left or right of center. The radical left is destroying the party and Bill Maher keeps warning them of this and nobody in Washington is listening.
I can't even categorize what Democrats are doing as "radical left." It's mostly impractical nonsense that doesn't work in the real world. Unfortunately, the Republicans have embraced an equally repulsive ideology that is as nonsensical. Reason and common sense have been thrown out, and the vast majority of Americans are being led by complete imbeciles who represent too few people. We're becoming a nation of independents who have nowhere to turn. It really is like trying to hire a good lawyer, but every one we talk to is on crack.

Bill's first video I watched this morning was called "Welcome to right-wing America" where he criticized the events happening currently. In this video, he pretty much describes why those events are occurring.
It's not the only reason - but it certainly isn't helping to fix that problem when they are giving the crazy side more voters to shore up their support and dig in with anti voter legislation/policies to make it easier to get elected with or without them.

I promise you, if he thought being "pro punch white people," would win the elections and keep him out of the meetoo crosshairs, hed be on stage right now punching as many random white people as he could.
What I don't get about that is if you raise taxes like 5k for everyone to pay for free college which it would probably be more than that you'd be paying in this example 100k for college in 20 years which is basically already what your debt would be or lower anyways except over the time of you being alive if you live until 85 for example you'd be paying over 200k which is way more than what the average college students debt would be and that's only for a 5k tax increase which again would probably be more. This would just cause them to get even more money out of this from you than keeping it how it is.
I'd like to at _least_ see broken election promises count as fraud, especially as a Canadian where Trudeau got into power in large part because he promised election reform, but then... didn't. He should be in jail for that _alone_ , not to mention all the wreckage he's caused since.

Problem is that with a polarized two-party system, many people are hard pressed to find a candidate that they feel speaks for them.
Ranked choice voting would give people more flexibility in voting for any candidate, without fearing of hurting the "lesser evil."
Used to be Whigs vs. Federalists. Need a 3rd and 4th party to arise, give more choices to align with one's values.
Absolutely right. Unfortunately, the candidates on both sides need to pander to the extremists in order to get through the primaries.

@@mnomadvfx It's not even the minorities who are hyper vocal. It's their "allies" who've taken up activism as a self-affirming hobby.

As long as vested interests are paying politicians, politicians will be the lawyers of the vested interests, not of the people.
lol exactly
if it wasn't so actually depressing, it would be HILARIOUS to me that people actually still think politicians and "elected officials" actually fight for their interests, and not those of corporate lobbyists etc.

The thing I don't understand is, the left have been pining for decades for someone just like Trump to come along. Someone to be brave enough to clean up the DC swamp. To represent the American people and not American corporations. It was never going to happen with someone like a Ron Paul - even though I love that man. Trump never drained any swamp. Not to mention that what happened with the SCOTUS is on his head.
None of that is about his personality but about his actions as president
Let begin by saying, a very noble effort sir... but let's examine this, shall we?
*_the wall was a terrible idea. Not only did he massive underestimate the required cost, but even the idea that it would curb illegal immigration was flawed_*
Wrong - the costs that came in over budget for the wall was mostly due to that that the DEMs kept suing to stop it.
*_but even the idea that it would curb illegal immigration was flawed._*
Wrong - the number of illegal immigration crossing the southern US border under Trump's policies was at the lowest levels in decades. If the wall doesn't help, then why are the Dems so dead set against it?
*_Most illegals come into the country legally, they just overstay their visas_*
Correct
*_because GOP politicians have been making progressively more difficult for them to obtain work visas._*
Wrong Take - the GOP politicians just favor people who are already here. The Dems used to do this also... but now they just want to flood America with illegals because they tend to vote left for all the "free stuff".
*_But the wall that was built can’t keep anyone out. There are countless videos online of people climbing the wall (or a copy of it) even without any gear._*
Nobody said it was flawless... but it is a deterrent and it slows them down so that border security agents can get there to stop them. Nothing is 100% fullproof.
*_His claims of massive voter fraud are now serving to make it difficult for poor minorities to vote. The GOP has jumped on the bandwagon of “voter fraud” (which never happened even according to the same GOP politicians) in order to ensure their own continuous reelection._*
Remind me, who was claiming voter fraud from 2016 to 2020 even though there was no evidence of it? Oh yeah... literally EVERYONE on the left. Ever heard of Russiagate and how it was disproven many times? Watch "2000 Mules", then get back to me. Your eyes just might get opened.
*_Trump never drained any swamp. He made it deeper by putting a bunch of yes-men in his Cabinet_*
Wrong take - Any person in that situation wants his cabinet to back their policies. Ever POTUS has done that - from both parties. To suggest that is only a Trump phenomenon is just naive and foolish. Also, Do you not remember the revolving door for Whitehouse staffers in Trumps first 2 years? He was literally draining the swamp, specifically, the people in the WH. He even replaced his own replacements upon learning they were either not up to the task or too swampy for his liking.
*_by failing to put his business into a blind trust, thus creating a conflict of interest, by putting his own relatives into positions of power_*
Wrong - Again, to suggest that this is a Trump only phenomenon is naive and foolish. He had his family run his business while he was POTUS. Ask the "big guy" and his 10% from his son Hunter. Btw - it should be noted that Trump was the first President in decades who's personal wealth DECREASSED while in office while others (from both sides of the aisle) dramatically increased.
*_by wasting taxpayer money on constant golf trips, by forcing people to pay his own resort because Camp David isn’t up to his standards of opulence_*
Biased Take - Trump liked to golf, but not as much as Obama. By comparison, Trump spent all OR PART of 61 days at his properties in the same period of time. If you condemn one side, make sire you condemn the other side for even worse behavior.
*_(never mind all the local businesses he killed around Mar a Lago because of the constant security lockdowns)._*
Biased Take - Those businesses were mainly the ones directly linked to the Lantana airport. Not saying that they don't matter, but that has been blown way out of proportion.
*_He pulled out of Paris Accords, even though it was a largely symbolic agreement to reduce carbon emissions so that future generations might have a habitable planet to live on._*
Wrong - It's true that he pulled out of the Paris accord... but what the press doesn't tell you is that after doing so, America's carbon emissions under Trump were lower than what the Paris Accord's goals were, and they didn't have to waste taxpayer money on an organization that doesn't hold the world's largest polluters to account, like China, to name just one.
*_He kept trying to lift sanctions on Russia, pathfinders I’ll admit to being biased, since I’m Ukrainian-American. Sure, he signed the bill in the end, but that’s only because the Congress had enough votes to overturn his veto, and it would’ve made him look bad._*
Biased - Fact is, no other President since Reagan was harder on Russia than Trump. Russia didn't do sh!t when Trump was POTUS, same goes for China and North Korea too.
*_Not to mention that what happened with the SCOTUS is on his head._*
Tell me, what exactly and very specifically did Trump do with SCOTUS that any other president would not have done or tried to do in the past?
*_None of that is about his personality but about his actions as president_*
...and every single point you made was either completely wrong or extremely biased, cherry picked points with no context given.
When I asked you *_Are you sure about that? Or do you just believe blindly the lies the MSM spews about him?_*, it looks like I have my answer. It is very clear you get your news from far-left sources that flat out lie and purposely leaves important facts and context out of their "reporting".

If you want to bring their voters back you need to give them concrete reasons that are not based on the constantly shifting sands of modern identity politics, but rather the everyday needs of a majority of Americans.
The Democrats have too long allowed themselves to be distracted by hyper vocal minority groups on the left that scream for attention all the time - not all of which need to be addressed in politics, let alone deserve any place in the campaign rhetoric of Democrat electoral candidates.

In Reno the gay men and Lesbian Women don't even want to be in the same bar.
Hard to get your gay on when butch women are watching.
You're so right. The new additions are belligerent perverts.

As a first generation Mexican-American, I see conservative politicians as better leaders, and more rational thinkers.

Socialists hate excellence. Start being pathetic, Asians, and they'll have your backs.
Well-spoken
Legacy admissions harm Asians in higher education exponentially more than affirmative action. But you won't bite the hand that feeds you so instead you target those on the rungs below. Cowardice.
He sometimes simplifies issues too much.

I love both those characters.

There was a bill in Congress titled HR 3652, the *Hemp for Victory Act of 2019.*
The USDA reported in Bulletin 404 in 1916 that one acre of Cannabis can make as much paper as four acres of trees.

It's not that. They talk the talk but if you see what they actually do, red and blue are just two factions of the Big Business Party. Your job is to vote for them and then keep quiet.
@@rais1953 yes.
Bill should be the Gauntlet for any and All Political Candidates

His latinx complaint isnt wether its right or wrong to call someone a latinx, its that doing so will lose an election. I promise you, if he thought being "pro punch white people," would win the elections and keep him out of the meetoo crosshairs, hed be on stage right now punching as many random white people as he could.
I want to see a Last Word video on what would happen if lying in public became a felony and its affects on politics.
Democrats would never allow that, as it would over fill the prison system with their stupid BLM & Antifa loyal soldiers.

Actually, they like Speedy Gonzalez. They brought the character back because the Mexican market kept getting complaints that they missed him.
I like slow poke Rodriguez He understands his 2nd amendment rights to defend himself
I’m a moderate conservative. More and more I think most of us are more in the middle like Bill Maher. Our system would work better if both parties worked together to balance each other out as intended
There IS no working together when we're urged to be at each others throats every 4 years..
Where do think it all started to go so wrong? I'm thinking it started with the Tea Party, that eventually turned into MAGA.
@@rasheed12th38 It started to go wrong with Ronald Reagan. That's where the wealth gap ramped up with his trickle down nonsense. It's also when the war on drugs started targeting black neighborhoods. It's also when the AIDS epidemic occurred further stigmatizing the gay community. It's all pushed to extremes since then.
@@bordy217 Good point. I was a teenager in Detroit during the so called war on drugs. It was a nightmare growing up then. The government waged war on the community it flooded drugs with.
@@rasheed12th38 Somehow Reagan is seen as a great president. So many of our problems are direct results of his administration. Funny how Trump stole the MAGA line from him and outdid him for worst president of my lifetime somehow.
Never heard Bill swear on his show like that before. Dropped my phone in reaction. 😂
You can't have been watching much of his stuff then.
When Speedy Gonzalez was retired by Warner Brothers, Mexican Americans overwhelmingly asked for him to come back. Terrible example, Bill.

I'm not sure if I'm embarrassed or proud of myself that I'm thinking like Bill Maher far more often than I used to.
You are just growing up. Enjoy the experience.
He's wrong. Trump would be 10 x better than the mental patient in the oval office right now
The pre-woke, pre-SJW liberal has probably more in common with a conservative at this point. Critical thinking ability seems to be the common denominator.
