The entire saga unfurled like a fever dream, which is what I think the protagonist was experiencing, leading to the lighthouse light being extinguished and the ship subsequently crashing on the rocks. Hail HP!
Interesting you mention that, Scott. I always used to prefer Lovecraft's moster mythos to the dream cycle stuff, until I read a few of the stories, esp. Fungi from Yuggoth. It was so good I had to come back for more. I am getting back to Lovecraft now after a hiatus, redoing some old videos before I knew what the heck industry standard audio was :D, and some new stories :)

I used to revile Lovecraft, haha, I think because I'd never given the deep literary fiction a chance. Oddly, I'm a writer, so one would think that I would give all writing a chance, but in horror I preferred the creepypasta. Then I heard Otis Jiry's reading of Pickman's Model. Oh my god! I knew I had to try my hand at Lovecraft, and over the years, I've learned how to read him for me. He's a difficult writer to interpret sonically, and I had to experiment a lot with inflection and tone to find the voice for his stories, at least on my channel. On the page, his writing looks one way, but with the right interpretation I began to find him fun.
Awesomeness to you, too! I had fun editing it, adding the different dark ambient beds for each of the worlds Xura, Thalarion, etc...it's like going on a journey and I find so few of those stories!

Confused and bored...that's how most feel about Lovecraft until the right person comes along! My dream is to become a Lovecraft authority! Oddly, he is fairly easy to read once you are familiar with his works and read on your own. I find a great many people disrupt my love of Lovecraft with their lacking narrations.

Well, if all we read was "horror," things would really be boring. I think it helps to bring in other things like this, "fringe" horror fiction so-to-speak, or fiction not so horrific, to maintain a wider flavor for the viewers.

have not heard better narration than g.m.d. and hard to imagine any, although a female equivalent might be nice...evil laugh follows.
LOL, the part where the author says, "I've heard the ocean..." might be referring to the story, "The Open Boat." Namely the conclusion of that book.
