I'm 67 and always carried a slipjoint and over the years I'd give away my knife to someone who didn't carry a knife and encourage them to carry a knife. Now I'm retired and been collecting Case for a few years. I enjoy you channel keep up the good work.

I always love seeing your collection and hearing the passion you have for the hobby .It assures me that young folks collecting these knives is going to be alive, respected and well loved long after us old guys are gone. My knife journey started around 1973 with an Imperial Barlow my uncle gave me. That's all it took I was hooked. Thanks Brother for sharing your collection.

I appreciate you brother! Yeah, always had a passion for Knives, all types, but traditional has always been my thing! Love different style bone and just traditional patterns! These knives will definitely be kept well and will be eventually passed on to my daughter! BARLOW is one of my favorite patterns! Thank you for checking it out!

Thanks for sharing your perspective and insights. Being old enough to remember when 'traditional' knives were ubiquitous and the Buck 110 was something new and innovative, it's great to see younger men discover and appreciate knives that were used by their Great Grandfathers and before. There is something extra about a knife that required craftsman to construct rather than a knife that is assembled and appears exactly the same as every other one of its kind. That isn't meant as a knock on 'moderns,' as tools they are great.
It's a great time to be a knife guy - so many options and much more affordable. A Buck 110 would cost me a few days' pay at a good job in the 70s, now can be had for wages made before lunch at that same job today, and it's a better knife still made in the USA. Case knives too. A Case Muskrat was the first knife I ever bought with my own money, and I had to save up for it.
I'm thankful Case survived and kept these patterns available. So many great knife companies didn't, like Western, Schrade and Camillus. I'm thankful for the imports like Rough Ryder that provide an affordable gateway for those exploring traditional patterns.

Thank you and I absolutely agree on everything you mention! There is just nostalgia to a good traditional blade! And you make a strong point! Craftsmanship over mass production! I agree on all counts!! Thank you for being here and supporting brother! You be well!!

    Couldn’t agree more!
I still get the occasional modern knife, but it’s mostly slip joints and fixed blades.
I think the faster paced and off the rails culturally that the world becomes, the more people crave the intentional and deliberate, and the traditional and conservative.
We see this in the knife community, shaving community, bushcraft community, and so many more.
    Good stuff brother 👊🏻

It was mandatory I carried a knife in my 30 year career in the Coast Guard. I carried everything you can imagine, but I think my most often used as a real EDC was my Buck Strider folder and a Ontario RAT 3 fixed blade. Carrying a traditional slip joint wasn’t fast enough deployment if you needed it, though I had a few in my pockets over the years.

    • @bostonbladereviews919

Great video, nothing like watching this as i'm breathing life back into a 1975 Case Peanut!! I believe the word "TRAIDTIONAL" needs to mean something!! I don't like that we are seeing knives made in overseas factories being advertised as "TRADITIONAL"!! When I hear that word old blades that are made in the USA come to my mind!!

    • @bostonbladereviews919
