    TIP: These birds have motors with dry bushings instead of ball bearings. So keep the motor shafts lubed with lightweight sewing machine or fishing reel oil or similar for longest motor life. A needle oiler works great for that.

    Now that I have mine, I'm even more impressed with your skills! Mine seems to be have alot of battery juice right at the start. Have to trim it up for a nice hover. Pulls right, and forward. Then about another minute or so in, it starts drifting again and needs to be trimmed again, then the battery really starts to wear, and you can really hear the RPMs drop and struggle. I'm not doing ANY of the fancy stuff you were, and I'm only getting around 4-4:30 flight times, with brand new batteries. I have a mess of flights on it now, and even put a microheli mainframe in it, cuz I kept breaking the forward canopy mounts on the stock plastic ones. Well, twice, but you can only pile on su much glue each time! lol

      @alangrant7349 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are just starting, don't start with this one! The smaller the heli, the harder to control. There are other starters that are not collective pitch that are much more stable. A 120 S2 is super easy. And get a Simulator for your computer.

  • @peanbean1973
    @peanbean1973 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Honestly I fly it only 2 minutes or so and swap batteries out. Cause it really sucks to hit the low voltage and crash the heli. You really wanna keep it between 3.7 and 4.1 for max performance. And store them at like 3.7. That way you don't stress about storing them to drained or too full which takes away the life of them. So that's my experience. I can feel what voltage it's at when the heli starts to get slightly weak it's time to land.

      I have 3 of these and all 3 do exactly the same as you intend.
      I've tried everything in the settings, to no avail.
      I have already changed the battery plug, bought other batteries.
      Nothing that helps. In the store where I bought them, they have not yet had that problem, they say. Easy to say of course.
      I use the NX6. Have also used the RTF and have not failed with it yet. That's why I thought it came from the NX6, until I read your comment here.
      Have you already found a solution to the problem? 'Cause I'm more into working on it than flying it.

Had 4 red mode flight so far lasting 4 mins each with no problem, super glue doesn't conduct electricity so it's safe but I would let the chip cool between flights. This hack was a last resort but at least you know what the problem is.

      Thanks for your response. I have followed your advice. But I haven't used glue yet. I stretched the chip, a piece of rubber in between and with a zip tire around the printed circuit board. But without result. Four flights good and the fifth he dropped out. And there was half an hour between the fourth and fifth flight. So he must have cooled down.
      I will wait for your further result and see if that is really the solution. When you can do about thirty flights without failures, then we can be sure that it has been solved.
      In the past I have also been able to fly 20 in a row (on different days) and number 21 fell out.

    there may be something to that "flies better on some days" thing. It might have something to do with the barometric pressure of the air putting more load on the motor on low pressure days such as in storms than on high pressure days when it's sunny and nice out or something like that. This is only a hypothesis, don't take it as absolute fact. I haven't tested it. Think about it though, if you have lower air pressure, your motor has to work that much harder to move the same volume of air and gain the same amount of lift.

    • @ukmitch86
      @ukmitch86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's millibars worth of difference fella, a cursory glance of weather reports shows typically 1bar +/-0.020bar. not to mention atmospheric pressure acts on everything equally. Perhaps air density plays a role, i.e. easier to scoop air than water

    I got 2 of these! The first one was in a RTF package. The controller + my skills = repairs. So she is a little beat up but has been repaired. Flys good, but cannot hover well. Won't hold altitude but for a second on either blue (stability) or red (agility). Put fresh blades on her, and way better but not perfect. Can be moody, 😂
    My newest has had some whoopsies, but is damn near perfect. Hovers like GPS in both blue and red modes. Not moody.
    Now my 230s is a little moody. Soo much so, I did a reset via DX6E. It helped cuz all the little tweaks made it goofy. All mechanical stuff (servos at 90, 0 pitch at half stick, gyro reset...) are good. Now it drifts backwards...gotta see if a trim flight helps.
