Thank you Gordana! I hope to find the time to make this next week. It is such a privilege to be shown these recipes that have been handed down for hundreds, even thousands, of years. Thanks again. I should make this for my Slovenian friend. She will love it!
Thank you Gordana, I remember watching my Baba and my mom make Zelnik when i was young. It's interesting to see how some Macedonians do the traditional zelnik. My grandma used to melt the butter in a pan and then spread it on her dough, and then fold it i think like you did. The spinach would would be sauteed in pan and cooled. Then the egg was added in and mixed in with cheese, but i never remembered bread crumbs being incorporated into the recipe. It might yours or someone who passed the recipe down to you. In either way this is a good step by step for me to give it a try.
You are a MASTER at this! You make it look so easy 😍. Thank You 😊 California with 💕 I love your channel…I can’t wait to see more of you 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 God Bless you ♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💕
Excellent presentation! Nothing like Pita or Zelnik! Thank you for sharing your recipe! I’m sure your mother in law was pleasantly surprised and that your family enjoyed a great pita!
Oh my lord it looks amazing 👏 Thank you so much for this recipe and video Being greek I didn't know how to make the dough now with ur steps I hope I can Thank you 🙏
Hi Gordana I love your videos. I want to make egg and feta cheese triangles have you done those? Do I use your recipe for zelnik and stretch it out and cut in strips. Im not sure how to proceed
You can definitely do that 😃I have done it, and it’s great. It’s a lot of work, but if you want to make homemade , I love it. That’s right 🙌you stretch the dough, sprinkle it with butter, cut into strips, put your favorite filling, oil or butter on top, and bake it on 400f until golden brown, be careful, don’t burn it 😉. You can see my video “ How to make Maznik “ just cut strips instead of rolling the whole dough. Tell me how will turn out please. Good luck 🥰
Yes, it’s still flaky the next day. If you like to warm it up just use oven not microwave. Microwave would make it soft not crispy. In the oven it’s crispy, but be careful can burn fast. And yes again, you can freeze and bake later, but let it defrost uncovered first before baking 😊 Thanks for watching , and I have another pastry video coming soon very interesting and delicious 😋
Add slowly water, until you make soft dough but not sticky, follow the instructions on the video. I am sorry, but can’t be measured always. When you mixing the dough in a bowl it will be sticky, when you transfer on counter you sprinkle it with flour, with continued kneading until it’s smooth 😊 Good luck, you can do this 🥰

It looks amazing! Will the pastry stay flaky the next day if not refrigerated? Will the outcome still be the same if you freeze and bake later?
