Upside Down Pineapple Cake
Indulge in our delectable upside-down cake, featuring a luscious layer of melted sugar that caramelizes perfectly with fresh pineapple slices. Enhanced with the rich flavor of maraschino cherries, creamy butter, aromatic vanilla, and a satisfying crunch of walnuts, this cake offers a delightful combination of sweetness and texture in every bite
Ingredients:
• 120 grams granulated sugar
• 6 circles of fresh pineapple cut into 1/2”
For the cake better:
• 3/4 cup crushed walnuts
• 5 eggs
• 200 grams granulated sugar
• 100 grams plain yogurt
• 4 tbsp melted butter
• 1/2 cup canned crushed maraschino cherries
• 3/4 cup crushed pineapple
• lemon zest from 1 whole lemon
• 1 pack vanilla sugar ( or 1 tbsp vanilla extract liquid form)
• 300 grams all purpose flour
• 1 tbsp baking powder
Use 11” round baking pan
Bake at 360 f for 50-60 minutes

Thank you Gordana, I remember watching my Baba and my mom make Zelnik when i was young. It's interesting to see how some Macedonians do the traditional zelnik. My grandma used to melt the butter in a pan and then spread it on her dough, and then fold it i think like you did. The spinach would would be sauteed in pan and cooled. Then the egg was added in and mixed in with cheese, but i never remembered bread crumbs being incorporated into the recipe. It might yours or someone who passed the recipe down to you. In either way this is a good step by step for me to give it a try.

I saw this video this past summer. I want to make this for Thanksgiving this year and I searched for your video and finally found it. I saved it this time. All the other videos I saw making this were using store brought doughs and all kinds of foil. Yours uses foil but also parchment paper and its eatable! I am so glad I finally found your video again!
Didn't hear that pita is called maznik in Macedonia . It just plain pita. You can use meat, and that is a burek. If you use cheese, then it is called sirnica, and if you use spinach, that is zeljanica. You can make apple pita, potatoes pita etc.
@@MilenaHarbinja Inly in few places in Macedonia is known as a Maznik. Can be made with anything you want. It’s called Maznik with cheese, maznik with meat …… Burek is layered usually, and zeljanica and sirnica is not Macedonian language, at least you are coming from north of Macedonia. Let me tell you something 😃No meter how it’s called, Pita or zeljanica or maznik or sirnica, we love it so much, it’s definitely Delicious 😋😋😋

@@Mischevious1489 yes! They can be frozen, but you take them out of the freezer night before you want to eat them. Leave them on room temperature in ziplock bag overnight, then once they’re defrost you can use convection oven, they will be nice and crispy 😋

Nice recipe. It would be better if you either give all ingredients in Volume or Weight but please don't mix. 300ml water and 2 1/2 cups flour??? I prefer measuring my flour in Grams when mixing with ml of water.
