    I love wearing my silk skirts and trousers with chunky boots. This type of contrast of mood/level of formality is, I think, the most important recent change in fashion. When I was in my 20s, in the 80s, it was unthinkable to wear a silky skirt with a casual tee, a silk blouse with jeans, or chunky “work” or “hiking” boots with street/day wear. We just didn’t mix things like that, ever. This tendency to mix moods has only increased during the lockdowns, I wear my silk joggers, cargo pants, etc., out and about, not just at home. I think it’s freed up our wardrobes and creativity a lot, we get more use out of everything and can create more outfits, plus it’s just fun.

    Love that tip about rotating the look from an inspiration photo. Could be a whole video!
    Also would love more silk scarf ideas... so comfy, but I too find it a little too mature looking when it’s just wrapped close around my neck.

      With a longer silk scarf, you can potentially use it as a belt, which looks really cool. You can also tie a scarf to a bag or around the upper arm part of your sleeve

    Thank you for the scarf advice. I often feel a bit too “buttoned up” with a silk scarf around my neck. Will also use your sweater “scarf” idea. Brilliant!

    I love the sweater-turned-scarf idea!!! It’s also such a great way to re-wear a statement sweater (bold colour or print, or textured) that might be too much otherwise, given the ‘expanse’ of body it covers haha. And I’ll be trying to tuck the silk scarf as suggested instead of always giving up and tying it around my ponytail~
    I also wish MNG still produced that coat - I don’t come across that colour so much anymore 😭. Anyway thanks once more for a super helpful and aesthetic video!

      Hello!! :) Yes I have, they are giving me ALL the inspiration! I honestly struggled to put into words so many ideas but they are able to explain everything so well in a way that makes sense in those style classes :) Also hooked on the brand from those classes and been digging through sales/outlets for Tibi hahaha.

    I love that you offer styling information using your extant wardrobe. I’m trying to move away from always buying something new, I have plenty of nice clothes to work with, too many. Unfortunately, YTers have to support their channels through links to new items, or paid sponsorships, it’s just the way it is. So, I do try to support channels that I like by buying through their links, but only if I really need something. Also, being in the US, I usually can’t find an item through foreign links. When we have to change countries to use a shopping website, the link is lost and the item usually can’t be found. I’m also reluctant to pay shipping from AU/NZ if the return shipping is expensive or a big hassle, although I would like to support brands in these countries more. Even big retailers like H&M don’t offer the same items in every market, it’s frustrating. For example, they rarely have white items here for some reason, just unflattering warm beiges or yellowish creams called “white”. Just some thoughts…

    I adore silk scarves and wear them a lot. I don’t mind now if they have that “mature” look, I am mature at 61. I think they are beautiful on young women, too, styled classically or not. If you love them, just throw them on somehow and enjoy them.

    Although it is fun to make a scarf out of a sweater, I don't need another scarf coz I already have enough scarves. I like the style on you but for me it is too bulky and not feminine enough.

    Maybe Im one of the very few who find the sweater-turn-scarf idea really odd. I see it everywhere now, but I cannot feel the beauty in it. It just looks weird to me. There’s tons of beautiful scarves out there. Why do you need to choose a sweater/jumper wrapping around your neck. Whyyyyy 😢😢😢

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Linh! Totally get your point as I actually LOVE looking at the lovely scarves out there. I think the sweater trick is not pretty/beautiful but it's common in the more streetstyle kind of look that Hanna and the other girls fit into. It's also one way to wear a scarf if you do not own any x
