Beyond 150 on public roads and you're seriously risking it, the Germans know that with the Autobahn so they restrict cars made in their country to 155 ignoring super cars and such. I wouldn't go that fast on a track never mind a public road
The Aston Martin chase car was a solid investment. The convertible gives you more camera placement options, and it's got the performance to keep up with the modern sport bike. All the serious reviewers have them.
I rode a 2012 Hayabusa once. As Mr. Regular said, it's a very easy bike to just ride around since you get so much torque down low. Also, here in Chile motorcycle driving permits work just like that, get your first moto license, and ride whatever you want, no restrictions.
I never had a Busa, bot rode one that the dealer had for sale when my own bike was there for a service. I was surprised how easy it is to drive! It's not cramped (i'm 6 foot 3/193cm), it's comfortable and it's smooth. It also doesn't handle like a nervous track 600cc. Of course, it has a lot of power and in earlier versions, the brakes weren't up to par with the speed/weight. Still a very accessible motorcycle, much more than any lightweight R.
That Guy that's insane! in france, you must have an exam (easy one you get at school)+ an exam you have to pay and be 14 to get (300-400$) just to have a 50cc and be limited to ~27mph. Then at 16 you can get a 125 (only 15hp 900-1100$). from 18 to 24 yrs old you have a license for slightly more powerful 125's and then, at 24 yrs old or after 2 years of the previous license you can get a normal bike. btw bikes in france are really limited (108hp)
France sounds like an anti moto fun country.... We have some restrictions here A2 - Age 16 restricted to 14.6 hp and 11 kilowatts (Parental agreement required) this is around the 125cc range. This also has a theory test requirement (Which is 30 questions about what you should do in certain situations or what the signs mean, quite simple really), 15 lessons from a proffesional teacher and then a control test in the "DMV" lot. A1 - Age 18 (17.5 for theory test) up to 47.46hp and 35 kilowatts this is around 500cc usually. Theory test required unless you have a car lisence or an A2 lisence, you need 15 lessons or 8 if you have an A2 lisence and two test, a control test and a street test (You and other guys on bikes go to the street and a tester on a bike of his own come with you and tell you where to go and see you do everything required, you can't use the mirrors you must look with your head.) A - Age 21 AND at least 1 year with an A1 lisence. No restrictions no more do what ever you want, you are required to do the two test control and street tests and you're good to go. You usually take some lessons anyways even though they are not required because after so long you give no shit about the rules anymore so you need a bit of a refresh.
I just told my Dad about the speed wars of the 90's; he loves this channel as well, and is now going to watch this, as well as, the most amazing thing to happen between us. We are now working on a scooter, and possibly another one that was only around for 3 years; I have no idea where it will go, or for how long, but it's great. Thank you Regular Car Reviews, your videos have done so much good, provided so much needed humor, education, and even more. Much love you guys.
Well ya there are two VERY bitter sides of that fight its either gorgeous the side I am on or its the ugliest bike in creation but no matter how you think it looks just about the fastest thing you can drive off a lot.
4327 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209 THATS MY FAVORITE COFFEE PLACE WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE... I RECOMEND THE CAMPFIRE MOCHA WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE ICED!!!!!
Anyone else watched this at least 100 times? No clout hunting or exaggeration, just pure entertainment value and a once a month watching on a crappy day
You need to find someone with a Kawasaki H2 (no no no, I mean the old two-stroke triple) and made a video on that. I never had one, but the legend of the 750 triple is that those who owned one either went to jail, or to the hospital. My dad had one. Went to jail for it. The thing that makes the 750 triple so terrifying is that, aside from the wibbly-wobbly frame and '70s brakes, it's a two-stroke. Two-strokes just aren't happy unless they've got a bit of load on. So the bike encourages you to give it some throttle. Things are smooth, and i'ts not even going all that fast. The revs build and it's making a lovely sound that's a lot like a Triumph Daytona. Then suddenly, the power output doubles, your arms get real stretchy as you cling to the way-too-high handlebars, and then as the front wheel sweeps past the vertical and your neck is about to hit the pavement, you remember someone telling you that 60% of the weight is on the rear. They're awesome.
JETZcorp I owned a '69 H1(500cc), was supposed to do 0--60 in 4 sec. Had a power band from 4500 to about 7000, was tough to ride "two up" because it only put out about 9HP up to 2000RPM. Traded the H1 on a '75 Z1B, never looked back. The power band was SO wide that it was PURE PLEASURE to ride even "two up". The 2-strokes are great on the track, but in city traffic not so much!
I bought an h2 in 1985, i was 19. It had basani chambers, clip ons and a 1/4 fairing. The second week i owned it i got the front wheel about two feet off the ground in traffic and dropped the front wheel on the back bumper of a honda civic going about 45 mph. Miraculously kept it upright, went directly home, parked it and threw up. I later bought a gpz550. Never looked back.
Buddy of mine owned one, he and the previous owners (3) all went to hospital. I rode it couple of times, then went on few decades, and started to feel like motorcycling. Had first Yamaha FZ750, then Thunderace, Blackbird and now Busa.
That last line about the road calling... As someone who was recently in an accident and had their bike pretty much totalled, that line perfectly encapsulates my desire to get back on. Nothing matches the feeling of riding. That feeling of total freedom. And I miss it so damn much.
DopestDope So you expect to die by age 70? That's sad. I expect to live to be over 100. Thanks for replying! I hope you get to feeling better about yourself!
Jason Moonsmith why did "midlife crisis" offend you? Its a common thing man, like a common cold, everybody gets it. Do you get offended if someone tells you, you've a cold? Lol. + you're wrong, my target is 60-65 range to die. Because after 70, you dont feel shit, sick as fuck + cant see shit. Annnd I am 24yrs old, i started riding on 15yrs, not because i am cool, its because i love to ride, still ride, no cars. So if you started driving & all of a sudden at age 35 if it makes you feel you want to change your life, thats "mid life crisis" even though it said "midlife" the crisis of changing your life could happen at anytime. Being old isnt something to get offended man, its a privilege of life. Goddamn overgrown baby! Get a hold of yourself man.

Yeah there was a death here this week. I was reading the accident report and thought "That shouldn't have been a fatality" then "no helmet" - oh. yeah that's a fatality.
Yep, it's part of the Cafe Racer Subculture. "The Tonup" guys were the ones who made the journey and survived to tell the story in the 50's. Love it to bits. Cheers
That was the same Aston they did the review on like 3 weeks back, when he goes out on road trips he like to do as many reviews as he could, making the trip all the more worthwhile and efficient.
James Juden it's kind of a shame it happened to be shadowing the Hayabusa because it would have been funny to see it chasing some decrepit 90s econobox around.
Carlyle's Picks Maybe the Aston owner wasnt familiar with that area so he followed but had to be in the same lane He couldnt go in front couldnt go in front of the Hayabusa so he followed (not arguing just throwing in an idea)
Man you said it all at the end! I loved this review, even though I wouldn't be caught dead on a Hayabusa. There's something magical about the pull of a motorcycle, beckoning you to the open road. I was a commuter on a Harley Davidson for five years, and it never was a drag. It could rain on me, be 35°, and I still got a smile on my face when I mashed on the throttle. Great review, had me cracking up.
my parents wouldnt let me get a bike to go with my first car so i took a bmx bicycle i got from the trash and ratchet strapped a 190cc honda powerwasher motor over the back wheel and now i can rickety rumble down the street at 40 miles an hour without a helmit, its so wobbly and hard to ride but im so good at it my good ballance could replace the flight controll computer in a stealth bomber, it has 1 gear and a belt transmission with a clutch bar i have to reach between my leggs and pull up on at every stop light . . .i know exactly what you mean dude, once bikes are in your blood one way or another you cant go back. . .also my parents told me i could never get a dirt bike either but i sayed id trade my gokart for one and they reluctantly decided i could after proving i can get home everyday on my home made death rocket
This video is an absolute legend. One of the all time greats on the entirety of TH-cam. RCR helped foster my love of cars throughout my teenage years and beyond
In Germany there are three Different Licenses for Motorcycles. A1, A and A over 25 With A1 you can Drive 125 when you are 16 A and A over 25 have the only diverence that when you are under 25 you only allowed to have up to 34 Bhp in your Motorcycle. If you are over 25 You can drive everything.
This is one of the funniest, spot on reviews I have ever seen. Sublime! This rivals Five Brothers burger Dayum review. Love it. The review is easily as good as any Hayabusa. I am showing this to my friends not for the bike but for the awesome review.
Damn you RCR, damn you! I want to live, but you continue to convince me that my life needs some overpowered death machine, like the Triumph or the Hayabusa. Hell, you even said this one could be handled by a beginner...
Man, reversing the shifter would really mess me up. Hard on the throttle and accidentally down shift from fourth to third thinking you are going to fifth. Ahhh holy shit. That would take some time to get used to.
chefdan87 I have a six speed auto 2012 mazda3 and the manual mode is set that way too. You down shift up and up shift down. Took a little getting used to but it's become second nature to me now. (The reason I got the auto was because I didn't know how to drive manual at the time)
@@normileguy6788 Thats how a sequential is? Pull it towards you (down) and you shift up vice versa. Look at a rally car with a sequential transmission its the same thing.
THIS IS STILL THE MOST RELIABLE AND ACCURATE SUZUKI HAYABUSA REVIEW THAT HAS AND WILL EVER BE MADE. Before anyone, ANYWHERE, purchases a Suzuki Hayabusa. They should be required, BY LAW, to watch this review. Failure to do so will result in the buyer being forced to, FIRST, purchase and enjoy a unicycle. Which they will own for no more then 2 years and no less then 1.5! I know for a fact that this review will live in my head for the rest of my life and it is most definitely the inspiration for me wanting a Suzuki HAYABROSA!!! Thank you sir for unleashing the beast all over the back side of this motorcycles face. And giving this lovely and so accurate review of this amazing machine known as the SUZUKI HAYABUSA!!!
EU the motorcycle license laws are in different tiers now, They are: 16yr old Learner: 50cc limited to 45kph A1/17+Learner: 125cc with 15bhp. You can get this when your 17 (with L plates and no pillion as learner) A2: 47bhp any CC. Power to Weight ratio
I think it is a sensible law to have. An 18 year old kid died last year in my superbike group because he was messing around on a 600cc sports bike. If this law existed, he probably would have been alive today.
@@seikanokarasu3091 others shouldn't be punished because of his actions. 600s aren't some monstrous liter bikes which dust anything on the street. Anything below a 600 can't even compete with generic muscle cars.
@@Robert-goose1 It isnt punishment, it is about safety, fuckface. Teenagers and young adults are prone to doing stupid things, and I can attest to that because I was one. And if you think a supersport 600cc isn't blazing fast, you are delusional.
Lots of things can affect performance numbers: temperature, altitude, wind, inclination, skill of the tester, road/surface conditions, unique traits of an individual engine, method of measurement, etc. It one thing that makes hearing people argue tenths on 0-60 times or a couple MPH on top speed numbers such a headache. Error bars and data uncertainty people; this is high school stuff.
The discrepancy is simple. It could be different amounts of fuel weight, rider weight, tire pressures, the road surfaces, wind resistance ect. The variables never end on a mph test like that.
In Germany there are two motorcycle licenses: The A1 is for small bikes up to 125ccm The A is for everything bigger but you’re restricted for the fist two years bikes which only make 38hp
Simmilar here in Australia but longer. You can get a license just for automatic scooters up to 125cc and motorcycle license you need to start on learner license for 1 year, then 3 years on provisional then finally you get your open license. On learner and provisional you are limited to about 45HP with a 660CC cap. It is done on power to weight ratio, but in practical terms about 45-50hp is all you get.
In Finland there is A1 with 125cc and max 11kW. Minimum age is 16. A2 is what you get at 18. Max 35kW, and can't be restricted from a bike that's over twice that as stock. (Used to be 25kW, and could be any bike restricted to that) A is what you can get at 24, or 2 years after obtaining A2, so earliest is 20. Unlimited license, no restrictions.
Great video! Hayabusa is the Japanese word for the peregrine falcon. This falcon can reach 200 mph diving in attack, making it the fastest bird there is. If you look at headlight cowling of the bike, you can see that it is somewhat shaped like the bird's beak. Just a little useless trivia for you.
How you described what riding deelanlike, nailed it. It's part of why I have been riding for the last 40 years. There is nothing like that moment, when you and the machine become one, and everything else in your life doesn't matter.
Good timing for a video like this. I think Jay Leno is going to test the new 300hp H2R today. Also, _Too Fast to Race_ is one of the greatest documentaries ever made. I imagine your doc about the 90's power wars could be similar.
I fucking hate Hyabusas. They're for guys who don't actually like motorcycles, they just wanna go stupid fast in their cargo shorts, flip-flops, and no helmet.
Billy Benedict Yeah, but I tend to avoid that term since nobody can seem to agree on exactly what it means. Some folks say it's ALL sportbike riders, some say it's just the ones who ride stupid without the proper protective gear. Others say it's guys who trick out their bikes for the track but never actually go to the track. I'm not really sure which definition I think fits. What's your favorite?
Squids in my opinion are the idiots who are romping 100+ mph everywhere, they wear no protection, must wheelie every time they see somebody, the people that stretch there rear ends of the bike and don't even drag race, they essentially just make it harder to turn a corner.
I've been riding most of my life, and all I have to say to any potential riders is to just take your time and please don't be overconfident in yourself like most riders are. Being able to ride the bike is one thing, being able to ride the bike well is another thing.
Basically, the tale I've heard about this mythic letter is that it was very polite, but firm, saying something to the effect of "Quit this foolishness post haste, or we'll MAKE you."
In the uk bikes are restricted by power output in kWh. It translates roughly to cc as follows: 16 year olds can ride a 50cc 17 year olds can ride a 125cc on a cbt but not on motorways, or on an A1 where they can go on motorways 19 year olds can ride approximately 450-500cc (600/650cc needs to be restricted) on an A2 After two years holding an a2 and no less 21 year olds can get any bike they want unrestricted If you don’t have an a2 for two years, you have to wait till you’re 24
The intro had me laughing on and off for the rest of the day. Thank you for making me have to explain to my professors what I was giggling at. Please make more bike reviews!
And, not a production bike - it's modified. Added to that, the 'busa is very understressed, comfy and will sit at 150mph all day. Your arse will eat your saddle
I just found out about your channel via recommendation of the Ducati 999 bike as 'car reviews'. I thought it was a joke. I'm very glad I found your channel. I love all your bike reviews lol.
This letter you mentioned sounds like something the Japanese would do. The Japanese Government (and by that I mean, the Prime Minister) is still seen as an official representation of the Emperor. If they would decide to take action of the type you mentioned, they wouldn't need to do any kind of follow-up. In spite of the Japanese industry doing well, the citizens working in said industry still have an intrinsic respect for whatever the Emperor decides. Of course it would be denied by any company's higher management echelon, but action would indeed be taken without the need of any special laws to enforce it. Most likely the government figured out where things were heading, with bikes being comparatively cheaper to buy and run while being as fast as very expensive cars. The US government took similar action in the late '60s when the car manufacturers were trying to one-up each other from year to year with bigger engines and more horsepower without thinking to much of brakes and handling safety. The difference came in the way they had the manufacturers comply, with strict insurance, emissions regulations and taxes that made owning those kind of vehicles very difficult for the class of citizens most likely to get killed using them.
Last apartment I lived in my neighbor had a busa, he never wore a helmet although his girls always hung on the side of the bike, he did wear, lugz sunglasses, tank tops, jeans, and tennis shoes, no gear ever, so that was my first up close exposure to motorcycles, past few months I’ve been getting into bikes and quickly realized just how stupid that guy is
Well in Germany The Thing with the Bike lizence works Like this: With 16 you can get a licence For a Bike with 125ccm and max 15hp. With 18 you can get your licence For a Bike with max 96hp but have to regulate it down to 48hp For the First 2 years, after those two years you can get your licence For whatever Bike you Like. If you dont want to Deal with all that, you have to wait Till you are 24 to get the license wich allows Every Bike power
Yeah , I think the EU has harmonisid it across there members. We didn't have the 125cc licensed vfor under 18 before that. And I think the power limitation I'm Germany was rised through the EU. i have an 80's Bike and it has 40hp but for Germany there is a beginners version of this bike with 27hp. All the same but a different camshaft, which isn't that hard to replace on an old OHC bike
A few years late, but here in The Netherlands (EU) you have A1,A2,A motorcycle licences. 18years old = A1, max 125cc 11kw/14,7hp. 20years old = A2, Max 35kw/46,9hp. 24years old = A, full licence no restrictions. To get a licence you need to pass 3 tests, and this has to be in order so you can't start test 2 if you havn't passed test 1 yet. Test 1 = theory exam Test 2 = AVB Simulair to USA parkinglot tests like swerve, emergency brake etc. pretty easy to pass. Test 3 = AVD Examinator will follow you on the public road and decide if you deserve to be on the road with current skill level and knowledge. Pretty high standard for passing this test, they judge you on positioning on the road aswell as following the rule's, how confident you are driving and the decisions you make during the ride. take's about 30min's to 45min's. Doesnt seem to long but driving nearly perfect for 30/45 min's straight as a beginner is pretty difficult, even long term driver's make sub optimal decisions. You only have to pass test 1 once, going from A1 to A2 you only have to do test 3, from A1 or A2 to A you need atleast 2 years of experiance to skip test 2. You dont need to have A1 to get A2 if you are 20years old, same goes for A if you are 24 or older but you will have to pass all 3 test with the motorcycle that fits the licence. So for A it's useally a honda CB650F. It take's a average person about 20 hours worth of lesson's (14hours to master test 2, and 6 hours to aply that to the road and master test 3) With this system from the 1.4million motorcycle drivers here only 51 died last year. comparing that to US it's 60 death's each 100.000 driver's in 2016. So this means 840 deaths for US, 51 for EU. for the love of god start implimenting our system....
Nah here we allow people to make thier own decisions and take thier own risks. We don't want someone limiting us all because the stupidest people in society can't handle some tasks. Your country probably has madatory helmet laws as well which has alot more to do with the high death rate than having limits on power. Over half of all motorcycle deaths in the US could have been prevented by a helmet. But they took the risk and it's their own decisions. I started out 17yrs old on a 800cc 510 pound 125hp sport bike with 70 ftlbs of torque, I dropped it once at a light but frame sliders barely got marked and I now have 20,000 miles on it no accidents. The only bike I ever rode before riding it 200miles back home on the highway was a 7hp 125cc Chinese pit bike in a field
@@Johnny-tq9no I kinda agree that people should be able to take thier own risks, but after spending 1 day on a parking lot doing circle's you are not only a danger to yourself. Don't wanna wear a helmet fine, it will only kill you wen something happens so i don't really care. And it's not the power of the machine it's the training you need to handle it relatively safely on the road that matters, you need to be able to judge trafic/have good lane position/think 2 steps ahead of time and have a ''o shit, strategy''. Over here you used to (wen i was 16) get a scooter licence by simply doing a theory exam. No training at all. Result was that you are more likely to die on a 50cc barely 1bhp top speed of 30mph scooter then on a yamaha R1 over here. So skip the A1 A2 A system which limit's only the idiots but for the love of god aply the propper training part. The amount of video's were begginers make idiotic mistake's like going into a corner to fast for there own confort and then decide not to increase the steering angle but panic brake and fly off a cliff or something is insane. But also there ability to judge traffic is really poor, 9 out of 10 time's were they crash into a car that should have waited but ''didnt see them''. i can already see it coming from mile's away. but do they slow down, change position on the road to create a exit strategy? no offcourse not because ''they have the right off way''. it's just straight up retarded. In my mind it's like ''good for you! and you were right, but now you're banged up with broken bone's in a hostpital or worse death...''
@@Johnny-tq9no No you need some new course ontop of MSF being required, were you participate in trafic with either a instructor (while learning) or examinator. The instructor will teach you all you need to know about how to ride on the road. See it like you teaching your littte brother how to ride a motorcycle, you will teach him everything you know because you dont want him ending up dead. But this knowledge that keeps you safe cost you x amount of experiance between the idiots on the road, during this learning period things can go really bad really quickly. In a few hours with a motorcycle rider with years of experiance coaching you while experiancing situations yourself, will make you skip allot of trial and error time and instandly put you on the skill level of a guy having his licence for like a year. Allot less unskillful idiots on the road is a good thing for everyone.
@@mike6754 yes I agree that msf course should be more involved, longer, and you should have to learn how to ride on the actual road. Or Maybe have restricted licenses based on which level msf class you take there could be one for beginner level under 50 hp motorcycles and one full power bikes where you simply have to take a more advanced class to qualify. They make that msf course easy to pass because they want to encourage more people to ride and get into the hobby without significant barriers to entry as many people will only ever ride small cruisers or scooters.
No, it's not conclusive, although the degree probably supports the theory that he's a teacher - he probably teaches english or humanities or something of the like.
Not really sure what a grad student is, must be more of an American thing? He's mentioned before that he was offered his current job and they needed him to stick around for 3 years or so. I don't know if that matches the kind of work of a grad student.
After 4 years of college, you've got a degree but you can keep going to school for a "graduate degree". Most grad students are expected to teach undergraduate classes as well. And now you know.
The intro sold me.

John Hatchell in what country?
That Guy
are you kidding me?
That Guy
that's insane! in france, you must have an exam (easy one you get at school)+ an exam you have to pay and be 14 to get (300-400$) just to have a 50cc and be limited to ~27mph.
We have some restrictions here
A2 - Age 16 restricted to 14.6 hp and 11 kilowatts (Parental agreement required) this is around the 125cc range.
Theory test required unless you have a car lisence or an A2 lisence, you need 15 lessons or 8 if you have an A2 lisence and two test, a control test and a street test (You and other guys on bikes go to the street and a tester on a bike of his own come with you and tell you where to go and see you do everything required, you can't use the mirrors you must look with your head.)
A - Age 21 AND at least 1 year with an A1 lisence.
Much love you guys.
honestly, it's more then 6th time I'm watching this review and can never get enough of Mr Regulars voice reviewing bikes
I honestly think the Hayabusa looks pretty sweet.
lolh4x Me too, I'm not into motorcycles but I think the Hayabusa looks amazing!
Literally the ugliest bike ever.
I like the paint, but that's one fugly rear end. _But,_ as Mr Regular said, this bike wasn't designed for aesthetics anyway.
Well ya there are two VERY bitter sides of that fight its either gorgeous the side I am on or its the ugliest bike in creation but no matter how you think it looks just about the fastest thing you can drive off a lot.
Still the sexiest bike imo. Ever since i saw one at a stoplight take off when i was younger its been my dream bike. That insurance price tho
you should start a kickstarter for that 90s power war documentary
martinshoosterman I would donate.
I would soooo donate.
+RegularCars I'd put $50 on this.
Yes, god, please. I need this.

@@Robert-goose1call that getting pearled, it’s not fun lmao.
This sounds terrifying and I have to see it
JETZcorp I owned a '69 H1(500cc), was supposed to do 0--60 in 4 sec.
I don’t think he’s good enough to ride that comfortably lmao.
That last line about the road calling... As someone who was recently in an accident and had their bike pretty much totalled, that line perfectly encapsulates my desire to get back on. Nothing matches the feeling of riding. That feeling of total freedom. And I miss it so damn much.
I'd definitely like to see that 90s Motorcycle Speed Wars documentary happen on RCR!
I'm 35, and this is the first time I've actually wanted to buy a bike.
its called "midlife crisis"

Yep, it's part of the Cafe Racer Subculture. "The Tonup" guys were the ones who made the journey and survived to tell the story in the 50's. Love it to bits. Cheers
What's with that Aston Martin tailgating Hayabusa?
That was the same Aston they did the review on like 3 weeks back, when he goes out on road trips he like to do as many reviews as he could, making the trip all the more worthwhile and efficient.
James Juden it's kind of a shame it happened to be shadowing the Hayabusa because it would have been funny to see it chasing some decrepit 90s econobox around.
cause it's gay.
how do you not spell "distracting" right?
Carlyle's Picks Maybe the Aston owner wasnt familiar with that area so he followed but had to be in the same lane He couldnt go in front couldnt go in front of the Hayabusa so he followed (not arguing just throwing in an idea)
The first hayabusa owner i met met that intro, literally, 100%
It's been almost 2 years since I first saw this video, and every time he says "It's EASYYYY" I still chuckle.
Bro hey Broh Saab Sonett broh.
+1. Most resilient commenter.
Saad Jawed fist pound me broh!
I don't even know what a Sonett is, but I hope he reviews it. Just because you're persistant. You deserve the review.
The Sonett was the only sports car Saab ever made and was considered a colossal failure.
And I own one of the few that have survived.
Only if he reviews my 900.
That intro song was really good
I need this song haha 😂

Man you said it all at the end! I loved this review, even though I wouldn't be caught dead on a Hayabusa. There's something magical about the pull of a motorcycle, beckoning you to the open road. I was a commuter on a Harley Davidson for five years, and it never was a drag. It could rain on me, be 35°, and I still got a smile on my face when I mashed on the throttle. Great review, had me cracking up.
2021 and still watching this video. Really appreciate the love and effort making your videos.
love the last sentence. ...the road is calling... what are we going to do about it? ahhhh! fucking fantastic to hear as a rider.
liked and favorited only cause of that.
my parents wouldnt let me get a bike to go with my first car so i took a bmx bicycle i got from the trash and ratchet strapped a 190cc honda powerwasher motor over the back wheel and now i can rickety rumble down the street at 40 miles an hour without a helmit, its so wobbly and hard to ride but im so good at it my good ballance could replace the flight controll computer in a stealth bomber, it has 1 gear and a belt transmission with a clutch bar i have to reach between my leggs and pull up on at every stop light . . .i know exactly what you mean dude, once bikes are in your blood one way or another you cant go back. . .also my parents told me i could never get a dirt bike either but i sayed id trade my gokart for one and they reluctantly decided i could after proving i can get home everyday on my home made death rocket

Right?! If ever there was a bumper sticker deserving of a motorcycle, that's it.
That documentary needs to be made!
Legend has it that the mysterious silver car is following a hayabusa to this day.

Did you see the one in the parking lot? We've been tempted
This video is an absolute legend. One of the all time greats on the entirety of TH-cam. RCR helped foster my love of cars throughout my teenage years and beyond
This is one of the best videos on the internet. I keep coming back to it.
In Germany there are three Different Licenses for Motorcycles. A1, A and A over 25
With A1 you can Drive 125 when you are 16
A and A over 25 have the only diverence that when you are under 25 you only allowed to have up to 34 Bhp in your Motorcycle. If you are over 25 You can drive everything.
SPER Most of the EU has very similar rules.
Falsch, kannst jetzt 48 Ps fahren ;)
Und du kannst schon mit 20 komplett offen fahren :)
Failtalaty Brother the A1 is up to 18 horse power, A2 is 48 and when you are 21+ and have one year of experience you can get the unlimited license
i wish the united states was like this, there would be more 2 stroke technology.
8:22 scary how true this is.
This is one of the funniest, spot on reviews I have ever seen. Sublime! This rivals Five Brothers burger Dayum review. Love it. The review is easily as good as any Hayabusa. I am showing this to my friends not for the bike but for the awesome review.
Correction: Five Guys Burger and Fries
Hayabusa owners don't wear helmets. The Hayabusa does.
Subbed before the intro was over. I'm dying over here!! Great video.
God damn 8 years ago? It’s been a long weird road fellas!
I have to say, this has to be one of the greatest RCR videos of all time, next to the Mitsubishi Exo and the Acura RSX. Great videos RCR.

EU the motorcycle license laws are in different tiers now, They are:
16yr old Learner: 50cc limited to 45kph
A1/17+Learner: 125cc with 15bhp. You can get this when your 17 (with L plates and no pillion as learner)
A2: 47bhp any CC. Power to Weight ratio
What you just said is only in the uk... In most eu countries you can get the a1 at 16, a2 at 18 and a full a at 20
I think it is a sensible law to have. An 18 year old kid died last year in my superbike group because he was messing around on a 600cc sports bike. If this law existed, he probably would have been alive today.
Thankfully I passed before this bullshit
The way you captured the essence of a motorcycle is GOLD
The discrepancy is simple.
It could be different amounts of fuel weight, rider weight, tire pressures, the road surfaces, wind resistance ect.
The variables never end on a mph test like that.
You seem to have an Aston Martin tailing you everywhere
I think the owner of both the Aston Martin and the Hayabusa is the same guy ;-)

In Germany there are two motorcycle licenses:
The A1 is for small bikes up to 125ccm
The A is for everything bigger but you’re restricted for the fist two years bikes which only make 38hp
(Used to be 25kW, and could be any bike restricted to that)
A is what you can get at 24, or 2 years after obtaining A2, so earliest is 20.
I saw this and wondered if dude would lose his shit and go too far. Was not disappointed
Damn, that got unexpectedly deep at the end. Subscribed.
I've watched the intro like 500 times
After the ride, there was a ring of thorns tattooed on his bicep that wasn’t there before.

90s motorcycle speed wars videos detail the main players
So "The Agreement " was somewhat similar to the gentleman's agreement in Japan about advertised horsepower?
I fucking hate Hyabusas. They're for guys who don't actually like motorcycles, they just wanna go stupid fast in their cargo shorts, flip-flops, and no helmet.
Those are called squids.
Billy Benedict Fair enough. Yeah, those extended swingarms are fucking stupid for the street.
Not really the bikes fault to be fair. Every group of vehicles has idiots
Holly shit this video is in 60 fps, sooooo smooooooth.
Glorious isn't it?
TH-cam got it's shit together. (somewhat.)
Ah the Hayabusa... The Bike who's engine has been in more cara than people would EVER BELIEVE.
I've been riding most of my life, and all I have to say to any potential riders is to just take your time and please don't be overconfident in yourself like most riders are. Being able to ride the bike is one thing, being able to ride the bike well is another thing.
Regular: THE SV650 IS NOT A BEGINNER BIKE
Also Regular: a beginner could ride a busa with ease
The infected gauged ears and the helmet strapped to the back had me rolling
Basically, the tale I've heard about this mythic letter is that it was very polite, but firm, saying something to the effect of "Quit this foolishness post haste, or we'll MAKE you."
In the uk bikes are restricted by power output in kWh. It translates roughly to cc as follows:
16 year olds can ride a 50cc
17 year olds can ride a 125cc on a cbt but not on motorways, or on an A1 where they can go on motorways
19 year olds can ride approximately 450-500cc (600/650cc needs to be restricted) on an A2
After two years holding an a2 and no less 21 year olds can get any bike they want unrestricted
If you don’t have an a2 for two years, you have to wait till you’re 24
The intro had me laughing on and off for the rest of the day. Thank you for making me have to explain to my professors what I was giggling at.

Last apartment I lived in my neighbor had a busa, he never wore a helmet although his girls always hung on the side of the bike, he did wear, lugz sunglasses, tank tops, jeans, and tennis shoes, no gear ever, so that was my first up close exposure to motorcycles, past few months I’ve been getting into bikes and quickly realized just how stupid that guy is
Well in Germany The Thing with the Bike lizence works Like this:
With 16 you can get a licence For a Bike with 125ccm and max 15hp.

2021 and same
This video was absolutely amazing, lol.
Loving most of these videos, no idea how I stumbled on them, keep up the awesome work! :D
Test 1 = theory exam
Test 2 = AVB Simulair to USA parkinglot tests like swerve, emergency brake etc. pretty easy to pass.
It take's a average person about 20 hours worth of lesson's (14hours to master test 2, and 6 hours to aply that to the road and master test 3)
With this system from the 1.4million motorcycle drivers here only 51 died last year. comparing that to US it's 60 death's each 100.000 driver's in 2016.
@@mike6754 msf course should be required but restricted license seems like too much
@@Johnny-tq9no No you need some new course ontop of MSF being required, were you participate in trafic with either a instructor (while learning) or examinator.
11:55 he's a teacher! He's a teacher! We've figured it out!
That is not conclusive, because we know Mr Reg has some kind of English degree.
No, it's not conclusive, although the degree probably supports the theory that he's a teacher - he probably teaches english or humanities or something of the like.
or a grad student?
Not really sure what a grad student is, must be more of an American thing? He's mentioned before that he was offered his current job and they needed him to stick around for 3 years or so. I don't know if that matches the kind of work of a grad student.
After 4 years of college, you've got a degree but you can keep going to school for a "graduate degree". Most grad students are expected to teach undergraduate classes as well. And now you know.
