Dear Nick, that was a very heartfelt message - very true statements and considerations. And with this, people should be reminded what should be important for us during the time we are here, namely the people that are close to us and the "small" things that can mean more than anything in the world. I worked for some 7 years as a lab technician at a hospital biochemistry lab collecting blood tests and doing the analysis work. Once a week I drove to a local outpatient mental health clinic, where I collected blood samples to be analyzed back in the lab. There were about 20 patients every week. And there was a guy about my age who always arrived last. He seemed very introvert the first time I met him, but as the weeks went by, after I had collected all the blood samples, he was waiting the the "waiting" room and we spent 30-45 minutes talking, before I had to go back to the hospital (I just told my boss we had problems). We found we had similar interests in computers and music recording. Eventually, his health improved greatly (not because of our "talks", but through extensive therapy). But he changed during the long time I was there and it was very apparent that he liked the extra time we spent there. Sometimes, a simple conversation can be of great value, and not just for the person who really needs it. The point you made with greeting and smiling to strangers could not be more appropriate. For what it is worth, I am very fond of your work here - it makes much more sense than other big name superficial content creators. It is easy to absorb your love of photography and the sincerity of that makes it much more inspiring. And congratulations to your daughter :). See you soon Nick. Ulrik
thank you so much Ulrik. You're right - sometimes something that might seem trivial to us like just passing the time of day or taking the time to listen can be massive to someone else. I know as I've been on that other side - and still am.
My wife has Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, diagnosed on 2019 and has her ups and downs with treatment side effects etc. Her own Mental Health as a result isn't always the best. So I'm aware of what you are going through and that your physical health is probably responsible. The ironic thing is that our own Border Collie pulled my wife to the ground recently on the leed and she fractured her Humerus - it's now on the mend. In spite of that I think Dogs even Cats (we also have one) Keep us sane somehow. Fair play to You, Dexter and your family and keep up what your doing and love 👍
Watched your video this morning, ( I'm in blaenavon which I'm guessing isn't too far from you??) Anyway... Just wanted to say that you've proper gone through it mate but I'm glad that you're finding the reasons to keep going. I really find it difficult at times, I don't have the health problems you do, I just find things a real struggle in life. And like you I ended up letting a little border terrier into my life and Annie's made the worst times more manageable and the best times even more amazing. She's equal parts infuriating and wonderful but that's a border terrier for you! I love getting out and about with the camera too.(x-t3, Leica m4 and hopefully another Ricoh gr in the future). Going to look forward to watching more of your videos 👍 Wishing you all the best for the days when it seems all too much mate
thanks for watching and commenting :-) dogs really are the best things in life I've found - and agree that they really do help with everything. If Annie is anything like Dexter, then she'll know when you need cheering up, calming down or just cuddled! They certainly do help with the darker moments d I honestly think without Dexter I wouldn't have made it through. I sincerely hope your situation improves, and I'm sure that with Annie's love and help it will :-) I'm not sure the quality of my videos will help mind!!
Thank you for this video. Yes, dogs are lifesavers, mine keep me going when I’m in a dark place. Take care.
thank you Jane - glad you enjoyed. You're so right - dogs are very, very special people :-)
Interesting story behind your channel, stay as well as you possibly can👍
thank you Craig. You too :-)
