Hi everyone! We wanted to start off by saying how much we appreciate each and every one of you. This community is the GREATEST group of people and we are so blessed to call you our family. Thank you for the kind messages, the support and the love this week (and every week). We love you!
Second, we just wanted to reiterate that while it was a real shock to lose everything we have learned such a valuable lesson. THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE AREN'T THINGS! Our technology can be replaced but we cannot. Hug a loved one extra tight for us today!
Last, we cannot believe how lucky we are to have met Virginia and Ricard! Over the past week they have been a safe space for us and we just wanted to send them some EXTRA love today!
Big hugs to you all ❤️

when I lived in England, this is in 2001, in Camden town to be exact, I was renting a room with a friend, and we locked our doors. We both decided to go out of town for the weekend, hiding our electronics, I came back and someone came into my room and stole my laptop. Never got it recovered but I learned people rob electronics to be sold on the streets. What part of Spain are you in??? I used to live there.

also adding I think it was the owner of the building. He was from South America and wasn't happy we were not around to pay rent that day. He would burst into peoples rooms demand money which wasn't right. I was only there for three weeks. I told him we wouldn't be there and he would get his money on that Monday. He was okay with it. at the time. Then he 'forgot' so I know it was him just couldn't prove it ;'( .

💔 Think we all feel yr pain Guys...
You can hear the sadness in the tone of Bec's voice most of the way through that vlog...
We have the same fears every time we leave our van, and sometimes resort to carrying our laptops and hard-drive around in our backpacks..Not possible with the amount of gear you guys have of course..
Awful feeling that you think it may be someone watching yr channel as well 😢 Im a great believer in Karma 👊🏽
Great spirit and attitude not to let it get you down for too long..

It frustrates me a little that you felt you had to apologize for reacting the way you did, Bec. I would absolutely freak even if someone broke in my house and didn’t take anything that valuable. Just a break in is soooo intrusive. I hope no one makes the assumption that you’re materialistic at all, especially living your such minimal lifestyle. In certain ways, you take more value than a regular person in that stuff because it’s part of your life not just “stuff”. I do appreciate your awareness in pointing out why you were upset, and communicating that with us. I love and adore you guys and wish you the best, and I hope these videos can eventually rebuild that kit and you’ll have this beautiful community to follow you regardless of the quality of your footage. No camera, no gear can compare to your beautiful faces and incredible adventures.

Becc, please be very gentle with yourself and how you process this. I've had patients take months to process similar situations due to the feelings of violation and the accompanied feeling of being unsafe in the future. It takes however long it takes for you to heal, let yourself cry and yell when you need to. Meditation, yoga, and positive affirmations help a great deal but also be mindful not to suppress your feelings in an effort to "hurry up and feel better". I've done that to myself in the past and it really just drags it out in the end.
Lots of love and light from our home to yours 🕉️🙏❤️💖

Incluso un día que se nos despistó un niño y no le encontrábamos, uno motorizado llevó a uno de mis hijos en la moto 🏍 para buscar al extraviado y consiguieron encontrarlo enseguida y que aquello no fuera tan amargo. @@conroybent4586 I'm not sure how this applies to residents of other countries, but in the US it's actually your property insurance that covers your belongings in your vehicle, NOT your auto insurance. This is a common misconception. Your auto insurance covers the vehicle itself, plus damage the vehicle or operation of the vehicle does to person or property. Theft of personal items (items that'd normally be kept in a house) from your vehicle would have to be covered under a Homeowners or Renters policy, but even then some items aren't covered by default, and you'd have to get special add-ons for them to be paid for. And of course, as Eamon smartly pointed out, insurance companies want police reports to validate theft.

I think the positive side is still overwhelming large: your home on wheels is still there, they left your macbooks too.
There are a couple of things you can do. Install door chains with a cylinder on your side and back doors and exit/enter your van through your driver's doors.
Secondly install a dash cam, with a motion detector that records to the inside.
Thirdly install an invisible kill switch so that people can't just drive away with your home. (here's a video th-cam.com/video/XUhXLsrZiE0/w-d-xo.html )
Forth, maybe they started your phone, and you can track them down with Google, through the GPS positioning of your phone, in case you switched it on.

The driver doors are a weak point (though not as weak as those 30 year old worn and sticky VW locks). A pair of bolt locks on the front doors on the inside and a Thule Van Security lock on the sliding (and back) door is most common. There are cheaper and more expensive options on market for commercial vans, but this combo is quite nice solution since it can be easily installed and the outside lock is demotivating the lazy intruders. Off course if one is determined to enter, they will break a window and jump inside.

Actually it's a good idea to call the Embassy to tell them who you are, where you're going and how long you'll be there. Especially in countries known for serious crime. I ferried helicopters from Europe to Nigeria and had problems with an aviation govt official in Morocco. One call to the Aviation officer at the US Embassy and the chief of aviation for Marrakech called me that afternoon saying he would meet me at the airport the next morning to grant departure clearance.
I was once detained (can you saw arrested?) and my helicopter was impounded in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso. I called the on duty officer at the Embassy and he came to make sure everything was legal. Paid a fee, released the next day and flew off.
Then there was the time I was detained in Guinea-Bissau and ordered to turn over the aircraft key to the airfield commander. Got kind of sticky when I refused but when I got the proof I was there legally the commander disappeared and i was cleared to go.

But, you still have your van and clothes and shoes to wear, a bed to sleep in, and your kitchen. And very lucky they dusted for prints, something they won't do here. All I can do is one be thankful neither of you were hurt. Second pray that you get things replaced quickly and you recover from this incident. Sending prayers and love.

New subscriber! You absolutely were not being dramatic! Having someone enter your home, vehicle, personal space, and steal your things, is such an invasion of privacy! My husband is now a police officer but was active duty Army and we had all of our possessions in a Pod storage while living homes and it was broken into. They stole everything. Our clothes, holiday decorations, my husband’s Army gear and memorabilia, I had quite a collection of handbags-which in the grand scheme isn’t “important”, except that I worked very hard to buy them or they were gifts for milestones on my life or vintage left to me by my grandma that passed away….they took so much. This was in 2014, and I still think about it weekly. It was traumatizing. ❤️❤️

I'm sorry guys ❤ having a security case bolted to the ground and locked under your bed is a good idea for the future. Also, getting security cameras can help you keep tabs on what happens in the van. Make a police report regardless of what they are telling you. File the report. You dont need the serial numbers, that can come in late. The police officers are just being lazy. Wait and file, push for it.

When I was a kid, our flat was broken into. In addition to the financial loss (jewelry, and so forth), and the loss of unreplacable family memorabilia, I remember the deep feeling of our intimacy being violated and our privacy being stomped up. I still remember it vividly, many years later.

This whole thing with “not wanting to care/cry for materialistic thing” is such bull materialistic things have value to a person just as much as a person they have memories they have value hard earned money, time used to purchase those items, GIFTS, all of those things weather it’s something like a tv or a phone to an item of clothing or maybe something passed down through generations it doesn’t matter it’s still a loss and it’s okay to be angry to be upset, to scream and cry however those emotions present themselves is fine

exactly i would've preferred an honest reaction than that bullshit " i don't want you to think i cry for materialistic things " like it's a bad thing! STFU you WERE crying about the loss of those materialistic things too and it's fine like OMG can we stop with this " i'm a better person if i don't care about materialistic things " bullshit like please

@@ThessaValmy Well you did "see" their honest reaction. So, I'm not sure why you would write that you would've preferred to see it. She is just trying to stay positive, and grateful... She doesn't want to give the people who stole their belongings more than they have already taken... Their spirituality, taking them out of their head space, and from being grateful. If you were enlightened & awake you'd understand that. Be kind, grateful, & offer positive support ❤ Christina & The Animal Love Fest 😽😽😽🐺🐰💋

This was a terrible incident and the thing that made you fell better and find your happiness again was the kindness of others, from the man who sold you the phone to the lovely couple at the end of your video and to the police that actually took your plea seriously. Good people make a good world with less suffering. ✌️❤️
