Hand Traps have the unique ability to let you do stuff on your opponent's first turn going second, which is kind of important in a game where you've got decks like SPYRAL and Electrum Magicians that just garner tons of advantage turn 1.
Aleister the invoker, you kill the mechaba it comes back, you try to battle mechaba but it drops the aleister to gain attack, basically i have only had extremely bad experiences with him. I once cosmic cyclone invocation, I was happy for at least one whole turn until he summoned mechaba on the second turn !!!

Re: Pot of Desires - I think one thing to add to the discussion is that "generic +1" does not make it an automatic fit for every deck. While the banished cards aren't a neg, they should still be accounted for in deckbuilding: if the deck has a card that's vital and easily searched, accidentally banishing it with Desires is a bigger flaw. If the deck has a lot of one-offs, the risk of banishing one of them increases. Both of these scenarios sound like they'd be consistency issues in general anyway. While not a neg, they do mean that the drawback to Desires is amplified for them. Therefore, Desires is less suitable - consider alternatives, and see what deck design choices can mitigate them.
Michael Drzyzga this is why I don’t like to run it. I play a lot of old school synchro decks like zombies or morphtronics. This means that I have to search specific cards a lot. This makes it dangerous to run desires. I have sworn that card of ever since I banished all 3 mezukies and both of my zombie masters at once in one duel. (I know that because I used Uni-zombie to search) Despite that almost ever duel I see people use it.
Well Frank, the odds of banishing all 3 Mezukies and both Zombie Masters should be pretty slim - I want to say there's a term in psychology for remembering a bad outcome like that and giving more weight to it than probability alone dictates it should. THAT SAID, here's another way of thinking about it: is Prohibition particularly devastating to your deck? Some decks have key cards, and others branch a bit more and can adapt to losing a specific playmaker. If your deck has a linchpin, Pot of Desires is less suitable.
I guess that is a better explanaiton for it and I agree. If your deck has some key cards that you need to pull your combos of it isnt a good choise. and yes i am probably just salty

I don’t play it because I try to play older decks that the banlist has already hit a few times and I’m running limited or semi limited cards and I am too afraid to lose those pieces to the banish zone. However, on that same note that plus one has come in clutch a few times and has made me a complete believer in it.
Sadly, all those disruption effects that happen in the hand makes me want to play Dragged Down to the Grave, because it's one of the fewthings that we have to remove a hand trap from the opponent's hand BEFORE they can even activate them. Kind of like MST, but for Hand Traps

I play desires, but I'm careful when I activate it. The free draws great, but if I banish one of my aces that's semi- limited, the decks in trouble. Luckily, there's necroface.
Desires is build dependent, definitely. I run it at 3 in D/D, but that’s because all of my combo pieces can be run at 3. The odds of losing all of a piece are so low that it’s literally never happened in any of my games to date. If you run an archetype with limited, or even semi-limited combo pieces, you’d probably be better served to find a substitute. A 25% chance of banishing a combo piece you only have one of is a pretty big risk
I play it at 2 with my antimeta-chaos build, but i also play 2 necroface to balance it. The draw power's helpful, as it does tend to brick, and with necroface shuffling the deck, if i can pull it off it's a win-win. draw and a 2200 attack point monster minimum.
Hey Dave, I understand being upset about people complaining too much about Dark Gaia being on your worst of Fusion list, but I think you should acknowledge the card's relevance. It did see competitive play in early formats because it was a big beat stick that could get over a lot of threats, end games quickly by changing weak monsters to attack position, negates Flip effects, and using Dark Calling made it less resource intensive since you could banish spent resources from the Graveyard. You could also play a full OTK variant by using 3 Reasoning or Lightsworns, filling your deck with monsters that can't be normal summoned/set, and adding Evil Hero Infernal Gainer for double attack would end games quickly. I understand big beatsticks, position changing, and playing around flip effects are no longer relevant, but that's not the fault of the card, Yu-Gi-Oh! has just advanced to the state where those things are much less relevant. Even if it's bad now, think about Gladiator Beasts, once a Tier 0 deck, are they bad now because they can't be used competitively since battle based archetypes don't work that well anymore? Or should we acknowledge they were good for their time, and judge it with that as reference?
New plan: Instead of asking what pot of greed does, I will now instead treat the effect of literally every card in the game as "It allows me to draw more 2 cards!"

They need to do something about Choas MAX Dragon, I mean it is good, but it is TOO good, and if you want, you can literally get it first turn at least 90% of the time due to Pre preparations of rituals which lets you add any ritual and ritual monster (or the corresponding Monster) to your hand, then you can boom, then your opponent cannot do anything. unless you somehow make a good Subterror Play and double your Subterror Nemesis Defender with 2 Final Battles, or use a certain Spellbook card to banish 2 or 3 Spellbook cards to make it go into defense with a prophecy deck or unless you run a joey deck and have Dna transplant, you can make all monsters on field warrior typed and use Sword and Shield, AND fusion summon Thousand Dragon or Just summon Flame Swordsman.
CrazyGeko64 Red Nova Dragon and Galaxy Eyes Prime Photon Dragon can kill Chaos Max Dragon easily. Also Quaking Mirror Force is a huge weakness for Choas Max.

Please explain your choice (can be made into an unedited video). In my opinion Darth Malgus has dealt with more stuff then Vader has in his dreams plus his force abilities are off the scale. He took on the Jedi Grand master head on, almost got crushed by a mountain along with killing two Jedi after he crawled out, and took on the whole Jedi academy on Couriscaut (with a little help from his GF and a small group of Sith)! It's a more complex definition, but then we can see desires for what it really is: you gain more cards, at the risk of turning something you need into a brick. Simple terms are simple, but they are not always useful.

Because Blues eyes is all about absolute beatdown. So having a Boss monster that can absolutely punish your Defense monster, makes a lot of sense.
