If you notice eddies vs Brian's lifts you can see that Brian always tends to over extend his legs thus effectively making his deadlifts (Romanian or a somewhat stiff legs) hamstring focused. I honestly feel his downfall in his deadlifts is because he never tweaked his deadlift stance. Thus if you notice all of his leg injuries were mainly his hamstrings.

    • @seniru95

I've always thought Brian's stance hinders him and causes his many hamstring injuries. He almost certainly could lift more if he adopted a position that better utilized his massively powerful legs. Hafthor's 501 kg pull is a perfect example of this.

Brian Shaw has been an inspiration to me for quite some time. Being in my late 30's and a Dad to two boys myself, wanting to grow my own strength being a little older. Brian shows that you can always improve if you work hard enough for it. I had hoped he would attain his 5th WSM title but it just wasn't in the cards for him. But he does have two sons that could end up following in their Dad's footsteps. Who knows.

Brian is truly THE strongest man in the world. I don’t think anyone is better than Brian, when Brian was/is at his absolute peak best. This man has also consistently stayed that freakishly strong, at his peak essentially for a long ass time!.. most of these strong men only can stay that way physically for a few years & then can’t keep it up anymore, but not Brian! He has stayed at around 450+ lbs of muscle and at peak strength/peak performance of being a strong man & among the top 3 best for literally about a decade now.. that’s basically unheard of normally!.. that’s crazy, & wildly impressive, almost inhuman & monstrous lol. He really is a beast among beasts, & I genuinely believe (with sufficient proof to back it up too) that he is truly THE strongest man to ever do it. If anyone has ever watched the anime series “Fate/Zero”.. the one character is “Iskandar” (aka Alexander the Great) & he is absolutely monstrously massive, his character is like 6’10 tall & like 400lbs of solid muscle, a straight unit, & I always thought that Brian Shaw is basically the real life Iskandar lol. If anyone ever had to play the real version of him, Brian would be the only one suitable for the role haha. Seriously though.. he’s the best of the best, the actual strongest man ever

I would put peaked, prime Brian Shaw up against anyone in most strength performance competitions and expect that a sufficient variety of strength events combined would demonstrate Brian Shaw to be the overall strongest 💪 and then the area under the curve of his fitness for strength tasks around that peak is so great as his dominance was over a decade against yet more of the greatest Strongman athletes ever, Big Z et al., for these and other reasons, I would contend that Brian Shaw is the greatest Strongman of all time
