巴蜀(Bashu) might be a good name for this city.
巴(Ba) and 蜀(Shu) are two ancient kingdoms existed within the Sichuan Basin. And Bashu is now widely used to refer to the area of Sichuan province and Chongqing.

@$2.20 just call it 川(chuan)is enough, chuan has meaning for big river in mountainous place, and often refers to sichuan's sprcial terrain. while 巴蜀 is only refers to a specific area of location, which won't be easy mix up style from other cities in China. If you still wish to have a two letters city name 川隶、汊川、石川、银川、沐川、北川、汶川、金川、青川 are all available. 巴蜀 has too much significant in in its historical meaning, not so suitable for a build that would mix up other features from different city

@@helloworld9811 Bruh, nobody wants the name of Sichuan's motor vehicle License plate as the name of this project.
For foreigners, please google “sichuan car license plate” or 四川车牌 to see what I'm talking about.

I know this is arbitrary, but this map really reminds me of Pittsburgh, a city built on an inland river peninsula with a ton of bridges and built in the Appalachian mountains-so its also very hilly and surrounded by nature

Yo mate chongqing is an awesome city and I really look forward to your good work! BTW the roundabout direction is wrong... It should be anti-clockwise as we drive on the right hand side in China.
Also the the name of the city, Sichuan and Chongqing is called 天府之国 Tianfu Zhi Guo (the land of abundance) in China, hope this can give you some idea in naming the city.
    Cheers and G’day mate!

I think you should call it "龙口" (Lóngkǒu) which translates to "dragon's mouth" in reference to Chinese history and the main rivers converging into one large river. Also I think the river should be called "The Golden River" as a reference to the dragons mouth and fire .

Very excited for this one :) I've taken to flying over some Chinese cities in Google Maps lately and it's really striking how they develop. Suburbs don't seem to be a thing; there's a sharp line between rural and urban, with skyscrapers sitting right next to old farmland. That's just my five minute observation though ... and I'm hoping I can pick up a bit more nuanced understanding from watching this series! With a high population target, lots of build area, lush forests, and heavy modding, I suspect you'll be pushing your computer to its limit - but you've been there before and seem to handle it pretty well. Looking forward to the next episode!

    合渝(He Yu)
Since the center of the map is a confluence of two rivers, I would copy the idea from a city in the Eastern China He Fei. The old name of the river in Chongqing was Yu Shui (river of Yu) and He means nothing but "collaboration" or "interflow". It is quite simple but unique. I think it's not so seriously complicated for the western people and it is really catchy for a Chinese like myself. Hope you like it :)

Every series I watch right now is about small but detailed cities and I really miss those huge skylines and metropolies. Your choice appears to be great because it wont be just big concrete jungle but plenty of grean sites which I love. Also I dislike building cities on flat ground and you have courage to use steep terrain so its another plus.

Wait what, this is incredible. You visited a location, then made it in real life??? This is some next level stuff.
I just discovered you and this makes me stay. You should try to do some of hong kongs buildings. They're absolutely mesmerizing because of their dragon holes especially when dotting the cliffs!

Thank you for the great episode! I would suggest Jiangzhou (江州, literally "the city of rivers") as the name of the city. This is the first historical name for Chongqing, as early as 300 BC. It fits the map, does sound like a city name (rather a name for the entire region), and no actual city in China has this name currently. I guess this will give a feeling that the city is Chongqing in an alternative universe, and this is a name sound truely historical.

Tanhua may be good for this city. It refers to the Tanhua Temple in Chongqing and I think it would be a way to reference and bring Chongqing straight into the series.

Make sure to have lots of walking space. I've been to many Chinese cities and I have found that they are very pedestrian friendly.

i think you should call the city 黄城(HuangChen) the ''huang'' is for the yellow river which goes through sichuan and the ''chen'' is city or town in chinese.

This just came up in my TH-cam recommendations, I'm not used to seeing totally new stuff in there, took me like 3-4 minutes to figure out why I couldn't see a part 2 anywhere... :D (I have subscribed and looking forward to seeing how it turns out!)

About the city name IRL: 重庆, just say the first word Chong in up tone and Qing in down tone. Really wanna see you talk about the weather(wet & hot), the food(spicy, even to Chinese like me), the "too many" stairs(cause it's a mountain city and in the basin) in Chongqing cause these are the key to this amazing city.
    Really enjoy this new project!

I really want to build some chinese cities in CS as well. Lived in Hangzhou (Lin'an, Binjiang, Gongshu, and Jiande/Xinanjiang) from 2010-2019. We just went back after five years to visit family. My wife and son are still there until August. I really miss my bike rides through Hangzhou proper and then later the more mountain valley villages of Jiande. We visited Taipei and Nanjing as well this past trip. It is such a different style than U.S. cities (I prefer it in many ways). Going to be watching with interest.
