Bunts are usually used to advnce baserunners, but are also on occasion used by plyaers to get on base (you have to be very fast to do that though). They are best when the game is close and the pitching has been dominant, as it can be a way to get the ball rolling and cretate momentum

Even the out at 3rd would've been close as that's why the play became an error to begin with. A perfect throw to 3rd would've been the best case scenario and it wasn't a high percentage play to perform.

He was aiming between pitcher and 3rd base, probably wanted it to go a little more toward 3rd than it did, but it was good enough because it was directed enough to force 3rd base to step in and hesitate. And success in this case was just making sure 3rd base was uncovered. That's how sac bunts work. You advance a guy to 3rd in exchange for a possible easy-out at 1st or 2nd. The fact it turned into an error was a bonus and was indicative of the quality of the bunt (forcing multiple position players to step forward to field the ball)

I've been watching baseball since 1958. Ichiro is the best bunter I have ever seen. But this was one of his worst bunts. It was a bad throw from the pitcher and bad position by the third baseman that caused this disaster.
Stuff like this is why I was so happy when Ichiro became a Yankee for a few years. I didn't care that he was past his prime, I was just happy that one of my favorite non-Yankees was playing for my favorite team.

ノーアウト1,2塁だし、送りバントは予想外ではないかな。多分だけど、イチローがサードとピッチャーの間に転がしたせいでサードが前に出てきちゃったってことだと思う。ピッチャーは割と早くボールが取れたからサードに投げれば間に合うと思って送球したけど、サードはバントに釣られて前に出てきちゃったから急いで戻ることになって結果うまく捕球できずにボールをそらしてしまった。普通にファーストに投げてれば取り敢えず1アウト拾えたけど、得点圏に二人入るのが嫌で無理しちゃったんだと思う。的外れなこと言ってたらごめんね

これ未経験者には難しく見えるかも知れんけど経験者ならほとんど出来るで。調べた訳じゃないけどプロなら全員が出来ると思う。そもそもバントってのは狙った所に確実にボールを打つテクニックだからな。
このプレーで評価されてるのはバントのテクニックよりも守備の穴に気付いてそこにボールを運んで成功させたイチローの頭の良さや。

Ichiro bunted to the wrong side. If he bunts to the first base side, he all but eliminates a play at third.
bushputz bunting to the third base side is correct as you try to get the 3B off the base to field the ball
+bushputz you're supposed to bunt to that side to force exactly what happened, force the 3rd basemen to make a decision
