I think she also isn't very popular with pockets of Democrats who just avoided voting thinking there wasn't a substantial enough difference in Trump and Hillary (laughable, but there were people that were like this in 2016).
That blunder will likely not be repeated again. The only thing I think may hurt Kamala like Hillary is she isn't the most popular Democrat but her recent polling is phenomenal.

I think it's important that Harris *doesn't* choose a running-mate specifically to counter Vance. Choose on ability or chemistry or to widen the base, but don't take it for granted that Vance will still be there in a couple of weeks.

Picking Vance was a classic Ttump move. The guy was fully against him at one stage, then started sucking up to him (which Ttump himself called out in a speech), and it WORKED!

Let's be honest...Buttigieg has ALWAYS been fantastic at debates, including when he was vying for President in 2020. He'd read Vance AND Trump for filth in the classiest way AND stay on task at discussing policy. Also Tim Walz is another song contender because he's a bit more abrasive in the filth reading (see his recent Fox interviews and they are *top tier*).
