Well, it came with the original game box and a manual 😺👍, but no game itself 😹. On the plus side, the package had the 10-12 games - including NIGHT SHIFT (CiB), ULTIMA V (CiB) and AZIMUTH (boxed) 😺👍🕹️.
I played this on Amiga a lot. If I remember correctly shooting a crossbow at the open door to the next room was my fighting trick, not sure it worked on C64. I bought the actual boardgame for the first time from a thrift store a few years back.
FUN FACT : On 1989, Sierra Online released a Hero's Quest RPG hybrid game in their graphic adventures line, but due a trademark conflict from Milton Bradley, they were forced to rename it to Quest For Glory. It was a moderate hit for MS-DOS and, of course, for the Amiga... it certainly benefited from any extra memory AND a hard disk drive
Great video. I enjoyed playing the original board game with friends, so I was looking forward to the C64 version when I picked it up. I feel it does a good job, the isometric display works really well and the icons system simplifies choosing actions. What was clever is that Gremlin/221B designed the system so you could load in extra quests; there was one add-on for the C64 released with extra quests. I haven't tried the Amiga version though. Nowadays I own the remastered board game (which basically changed a couple of monster designs that were under Games Workshop's copyright).

I know what you mean... Role-playing games could sometimes feel like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the manual and with half the pieces missing 😇🕹️👌
We could use the browd Sowd!!!!
The best sword in any RPG was always the bastard sword... just because 😇🕹️👌
Played on my mate's Amiga back in the days...nicer gfx than C64 but it gets boring after a while
Yeah it's quite sluggish on the C64 and some of the quests take a good while to play through. I liked it as a kid though for sure 😇🕹️👌
Unfortunately the graphics scream "I was designed for a spectrum and some lazy bastard made this half assed port to the C64"
It was a really popular game back in the day, although retrospectively the graphics haven't really aged well... maybe if there was more colour, like the Amiga version 😇🕹️👌
*rolls D20...

Hahahaha yup! *move one space* 😇🕹️👌
@CheekyCommodoreGamer moonstone is a stunning game its one my favs i have completed it many times the other knights are dumb at the start and pretty much try to kill you instantly i have even got a moonstone cup at home i was trying reply this but since yest i have been having a prob replying it just ends deletes the message for some reason
Hi there - yeah with comments, if you just leave it the one time... I manually pull them through, dont worry - every one of them get read, but I see you tried multiple times. Apologies for that, but I will definitely always 100% reply 😇🕹️👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer i was just trying to reply once but it was messing around for some reason i was having the same prob yest with someone else and i was reloading the page and it didnt appear i thought it was broken but it seemed to take ages to appear
Yeah I'm really sorry man... hopefully you wont have any issues going forward, but it's 100% not your fault. Just that some comments can be abusive so TH-cam with-holds them all for approval beforehand. I guess thats just the nature of the world we live in with keyboard warriors hehe 😇🕹️
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer thanks for that it kind of explains the reason it happened possibly, i had the same prob yest with someone else, i was trying to reply it didnt do that on my first post and it was only about f1 and amiga stuff, i have made a copy on my pc so i could post easily again and it didnt look there should be anything dodgy maybe they were getting their nickers in a twist over the fact i said it was in my bedroom at home, this should not cause offence who knows with yt they might have servers slowing it up i hate all this immature garbage now you cant even say hello without someone taking offence now
All members of the channel are immediately whitelisted so that this doesn't happen... but sometimes there's some absolute garbage chats that come through on here! Haha have to be careful I guess 😇🕹️👌
I have it
Awesome, great game isn't it 😇🕹️👌
This game was a total waste of time.
Gah! I suppose it was only considered 'good' if you enjoyed the slower paced turn based RPG's... takes a good while to complete one of the quests, sometimes up to an hour 😇🕹️👌
