Reminds me of my parents, I remember hearing this song whenever they had parties in the early 70 's.

Every time I hear this cool song.
I'll think about my late Mother Norma.
This is 1 of her favorite oldies.
I have this record in her honor.
    Like Mother's Day , Birthday.

A guaranteed #1 song if not for Beatlemania. One of the 60's finest recordings.

Yes. Very much an Elvis sound-alike and yes.. #3 the week ending April 11, 1964. At the height of Beatlemania too.

Thank you so much for posting this! I heard this recording yesterday while shopping and went online to buy it, mistakenly looking for Elvis. Wow, and I thought I knew music from that era!
That song reminds me of being a kid dancing with my cousins. Thanks for the info so now I can go buy the recording. The song is like a blast from the past...

Although Elvis recorded a characteristically superlative rendition of "Suspicion", Terry Stafford simply "owns" this song. May they both rest in peace.

Another Great record from 1964, I also remember when this came out and would hear this regularly out of a Forgotten Radio Station in San Diego that year. We would hang out at Oscar's drive in !!

Another single uploaded exactly two years ago today. And incidentally, Terry Stafford had a minor follow-up single, 'I'll Touch a Star".

The best Elvis sound alike that there ever was his version sounds better than the Kings

Fun Fact: He never actually says the word " Suspicion" in this song,( leaves it up to the female backup singers) although Elvis does say the word in his own version!

I wonder if the executives at RCA were kicking themselves for releasing Elvis' original version as an album cut two years earlier, especially when you consider Elvis was in the midst of a top ten drought in 1964. The British invasion and Elvis' incessant movie soundtracks may certainly have contributed to that, but I also wondered how he felt about a soundalike getting a bigger hit than he was getting, especially with a song he had originally recorded.

Don Hawk Elvis personally despised the soundtrack songs. So much he once yelled out "What am I supposed to do with this piece of shit? " when recording "Easy come Easy Go"

Who were the studio musicians on this? There is a little 'Telstar' 'Runaway' synth. West coast or East coast?

Got this 45 at a barn sale today, but it's a pretty song, but sounded similar to Elvis.
