Alex next time you put up those signs, spray windex on the surface before you put them on, then you can adjust them any way you'd like to line them up, then you can use your credit card to get rid of any bubbles,I put a lot of those signs up all the time
Alex when you're applying stickers to your truck. Spray the door with sudsy water, then spray the sticker with sudsy water on the sticky part. Then place the sticker on the door to the perfect position,. It will be able to slide around, due to the sudsy water it will not stick. . Then use a squeegee or your credit card, a squeegee preferred. And squeegee out the water and the air bubbles and let dry in the hot sun and you're good to go in about an hour
"First two drivers didn't work out"... he laughs. "They gave me a lease return"... he laughs. "A rusty driveshaft"... he laughs. "I don't work very well under pressure"... laughs again. Guys, he is scared - really scared. To be successful, you run on the thin edge of disaster - every day. Let's all wish him luck!
I am scared I bought all new equipment a month ago thinking it was going to be a piece of cake to start ..... I'm still stuck not able to get started because I ran out of money but I'm skeptical To late to feel like that I have the trailer and the Ford Gotta apply for my M/ C number I'm not paying 20%- 25% to someone else just because they got the number or finding the loads ....i rather wait to get my numbers and start keeping all the cash for me .
Alex, when you put those decals on, first spray the door lightly with soapy water. Allows you to move and reposition the decal before they stick. Then use your card to squeegee the water out. Been doing it for years that way.
Here's a tip with the signs. Wet the truck side and place the sign on the truck with the backing removed. The sign will be movable. Push out all the air bubbles center to edge. When the water evaporates the sign will adhere to the truck.
Hi Alex I'm so pleased for you things are moving along for you i really hope that things go well in this new venture As always God bless you and keep safe out there 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Quick question, since you haul non CDL, why do you get dually trucks? Wouldn't you be better off with a single rear wheel so it would be lighter and therefore increase your actual load capacity?
Before you apply a decal spray the area with windex. This will allow the decal to slide around so you can adjust it and it’s easier to get the bubbles out. The windex will dry up in a short while and the decal will be smooth and secure.
Holy hell Alex! Content being produced is awesome even 15 mins still didn't expect a vid until next week!! The quality of angles and edits are legit! Congrats on the success 😎😎
its a problem. Good friend of mine got 1 semi. Made money bought 2 more (he still drove first) bought another. Drivers just quit. (Mostly at home location, one 1400 miles away) I took a few last minute runs. In end he had to let 3 trucks go, just kept his original, till he sold it. It’s a lot of work running drivers.
Hey Bro, when you put your signs on, squirt bottle of water with a couple drops of joy dish soap and your credit card. Make sure the whole thing is wet (sticky side). No bubbles, no wrinkles. Perfect install every time. I know you’ll redo those...
Alex, for putting on the signs, spray the truck with washer solvent and water put the sign on and then use the card to smooth everything out, it allows you to move it into the spot you want and then get the bubbles out easily
Spray bottle with water and a few drops of baby shampoo, and a graphics squgee, makes installing vinyl graphics so easy. You can move them around and then press the water out with the squgee
Congratulations Alex I hope your new driver works out it’s always hard to find a qualified driver that has the same drive that you do. As far as a truck name how about Ford Flintstone?
Drivers will be the death of you, kidding of course, sorta lol , put a pin hole in the bubble and push the air out, also you can use a wetting agent , to put on first then squeeze out the wetting agent , I think it was called frog juice I use to use.
Mark Bremmer when I was doing signs and banners we didn’t use soap and water to apply it because some soap will leave a residue behind and the edges would lift sometimes , frog juice never had an issue with it. We have cleaned with soap and water or tsp but used alcohol to clean off the soap and degreasers , never tried it with just soap and water . I’m sure it will work for applying it.
23 years old no kids. In construction but rn its really slow and dont know if im able to save up how i want to . Got great experience driving & loading , unloading w construction . Most definitely want to give this a try . Thanks alot bro keep posting 👌🙏
Buying new tires for the truck is a tax write off for enterprise. Rotating them is not. They get more back on the taxes than they do on three or four rotations.
There is going to be a lot of quality people looking for work because of this pandemic, I think this is going to help you stay home more yet still hit/exceed your yearly money goals.
When loading vehicles, if you need extra clearance to not high center, lower the tongue jack (leave trailer hitched to truck) and jack up the front of the trailer. This will lower the rear of the trailer and make the ramps less steep giving the vehicle you're loading more clearance.
Alex, use a pin or needle on those air bubbles and you'll look like a pro. You could have that info printed on magnetic material if you want to go undercover. They don't blow off, but you can't put them over Bondo. Also, why don't you leave that tailgate in your garage? Save you about 50 pounds. Might help when the DOT guy weighs you out at 26,030.Keep it coming'! If I was under 80 I'd be driving for you.
Drive something that (they) can see you in a down pour. No accident trucks have reflectors. If your driving a red truck, in court (they) can't say (they) did not see you. That is a nice looking truck.
Glad to see you are expanding, hopefully more home time. Suggestion is trailers. You are buying a couple every year? Find a better company. Demand better alignment of axles, other stuff. Contact companies known for quality. Ask price for 2+ with shorter hitch, extras you need. IMO in a yr you should be CONSIDERING buying a truck. Maintenance should not be great on a 140k hotshot truck. (Especially if you figure cooling without engine running) A 2 yr old one ton dually with 140k, documented maintenance, never pulled over 14k should have a good value. IIRC you said lease is $14k mileage every 60k miles? With tires, other. That doesn’t sound bad. But as you hopefully reduce miles you drive. It should be worth it buying off lease, or maybe new?
Use a razor to pop the bubbles also you can spray a little dawn and water on the door to spread the sticker around and use your driver’s license as you pull the backing off to flatten the sticker as you go
Love the content dude pro tip for installing vinyls... Spray windex on the door put your sticker on and Squeegee it with your pilot card! Boom done simple and smooth
"A Bull at the gate" is how you might be described Alex.......applying those vinyl signs requires care and patience to produce a good result......otherwise just don't bother , because creased and/or bubble-ridden signs look crap and defeat the purpose!

Congratulations on the expansion. Hope everything works out for you Alex. You sure deserve everything you get. Working hard for your money and your chicks.... not for free. Lol.

I would drive for you out of the Toronto area. Just starting training on wreckers but I'll make the switch. Use to load trains with dodge Rams and challengers as well
Hey Alex, I have seen a few hot shots that use magnetic stickers. they seem to work fine at least I tried to remove one of them and they actually take some effort.

I’ve trucked for years but have been curious about Hotshot’n. I own my Own W900, however I’ve been thinking of parking her for a little bit.
I admire your enthusiasm, but be very cautious regarding how fast you try to expand. Many a successful business has gone south quickly through over-zealous expansion. Always build a solid financial base under each step before taking the next step. In other words, don't bet on a bet... I think I would have gone with 2-3 owner operator set-ups before jumping in to another company owned truck. Also, I think the Ford is less than ideal for hotshotting. They are great trucks, but for high mileage trucking, the new Rams (in my opinion) have some advantages: The solid Cummins engine in general; Powertrain runs significantly cooler (easier on multiple components); The emissions system is a much better design - almost all passive regen (due to the placement of the DPF) vs. Ford's frequent fuel wasting active regens; and probably the most important thing, the exhaust brake on the Ram is superb - much better than the Ford's, which in high mileage/heavy towing applications saves wear and tear (i.e. expense) on numerous truck and trailer components. Rusty driveshaft comment at 6:40. Alex, just so you are aware, the brake rotors on a car or truck (or anything that has brake rotors for that matter) will rust if it has sat out after a rain and hasn't been driven in a day or two. Go look through the rims on cars or trucks (or trailers) where you can see the rotors and you'll see some rust starting to form even after only a day of sitting sometimes. The rear rotors are typically worse and have more buildup and worse wear patterns on the rear brake pads and rotors in general because people don't press on their brake pedal hard enough (every now and then at least) or have proper maintenance done on their brakes but, also more rust buildup after rain and no driving for a few days. It's not uncommon at all. The rusty driveshaft is common to a lot of vehicles.
I always us magnetic signs. That way if I need to switch trucks I simply move the signs. If running down the road without the trailer, I remove the signs.
13:00 (damn I have a lot of comments...lol). Honestly? I'd take the truck to a detailer.....let 'em shine it up good inside and out.....and let THEM put on the decals. THEY'LL put that sucker on tight and neat......and probably not even charge you. They'll just be happy you brought a big truck in to them to detail for whatever they charge. 👍

Why doesn't enterprise order the trucks with the puck system included? Seems like a no brainer unless it isnt as good. My FOrd has the puck system I tow 5th wheel and gooseneck all the time. NO rails.
Alex let's be smart about this. Buy the ticket find 2 loads and roll
