Nice review! Great movie, I also picked this up from Kino. Kino does an awesome job putting out spaghetti westerns. I have most of the spaghetti westerns that Kino has released. I love spaghetti westerns 😎

It’s hard to always nail down the best edition of Italian westerns due to the various edits, sound mixes and all the variables. This is one of those where there’s thankfully one release that’s uncut, in the correct ratio and has both English and Italian mono.

Hi Spencer. I juat watched this today. I really enjoyed it. I got the official mgm region 2 dvd. Im in the UK so managed to find a copy. Its a pretty good print perfectly watchable. I didn't know there was a blu ray release till now. I only paid £1.50 so i cant complain really.

Awesome! The Kino release is based on the MGM master anyway so at least you have a proper official version. All the non-MGM master versions I've seen of this floating around are godawful in quality.

This was also one of the first spagetti's i saw after discovering Leone and i still own an old public domain copy and i must admit it didnt leave much of a mark on me when i saw it. I havent watched it again since. But im going to blame it on the horrible quality of the dvd. Because it was so bad that in some of the darker scenes it was actually hard to tell what was happening. Its been so long since ive seen this, might have to pull that trigger on Kino's release. [insert spagetti western pistol sound effect] 😉

That definitely hurt my opinion the first time I saw it. This mgm master despite limitations is a world of difference.

I wish John Phillip Law acted in more Spaghetti Westerns, he was amazing in this, when he spotted one of his family's murderers, he went from charming & handsome to full of rage, psycho eyes. He had great chemistry with the magnificent Lee Van Cleef. I can watch this masterpiece anytime, any day, absolutely love it. "Before anybody kills me they got to get my okay...and I don't think I'll give it to them".
    🍿🎞️✌️💀🖤♥️

He sells every scene and his physicality suggests a coiled snake about to strike in the confrontation moments. The humor with Van Cleef’s character is the most rewarding and one can envision the sequel that never happened easily.
