You don’t trade jones until you have the RHD lines covered and ready. Looking promising now though with Rinzel, Levs and Crevier. As for the rebuild starting march 18 2022; we’re barely 35 months into it, We’ll still have to be in the conversation for the McKenna draft. But this year’s looking good draft wise. After one more draft high next year, we’ll bet set for years of domination. The patience is worth the Reward even though it’s hard to swallow on a daily basis. Especially as you guys beat it daily, so thanks for your work CHGO 🤟🏻Greetings from Belgium

Hopefully something can be done well before 27/28.

we need a center like misa or hagens plus martone really didnt look good at the wjc, hagens looks like the perfect guy to play with bedard hes a high IQ play maker that reminds me of marner with his play making ability, i think it would be a mistake to pass up on him.

If they do pick up Schaefer they need to move one of our elite d prospects for an elite f prospect, Bedard needs more talent around him, i wish they went for a forward like demidov last year instead of levshunov because then picking a potential superstar defensemen like Schaefer would be much easier.

I like Hagens but he is undersized and with Bedard the Hawks already have undersized players. I have no heard that Misa is weak defensively. I have heard the opposite and seen it in video reviews.

Steven Ellis saying that Michael Misa is only a goal scorer is just incorrect. He is a detailed 2 way Center that is a world class goal scorer. He is one of the smartest players in this draft. Steven is just wrong.

It's definitely a different assessment than most scouts have. Almost everyone else says he's a well-rounded player with no gaps in his game. Martone for instance is definitely the worst skater of the top four by a wide margin too. Hagens is definitely the weakest at the point of attack out of the four.

Another issue I have with Ellis' assessment is that Schaefer is like Hughes or Makar. He's not nearly that kind of lateral agility and puck handling. The Niedermayer comparison actually seems fit for him. Not saying he'll be that good just his style. He activates a lot like Makar and Hughes but his linear speed is what is so good. Not his agility or hands.

    • @Lebowski55

@@jfkst1 I agree with you. Schaefer stylistically really is nothing like Makar or Hughes. He is 6'2", those guys are 5'11". He is a much better rush defender than Hughes. He isn't as freewheeling as those guys. He is fast up and down the ice but he isn't as a dynamic an east west skater. Hes not as good a puck handler as those guys. If hes Niedermayer, then he is a better overall player than both of those guys and I guess its a moot point. But yeah, he is nothing like Makar or Hughes.

whoever they draft this year wont' change how this team does next season and whether they're in position for another top 3 pick, I say go schaefer. they need a true game breaking #1 defenseman and Levshunov was never projected to be that guy. This gives Korchinski 2-3 years to show what he is, and if he's not what they need then hopefully they'll have a much better Schaefer ready to go.

Well other than Vlasic, their picking hasn’t been too good. Bedard was obvious but not the generational player all thought he is, not even close. Fire Davidson and bring Dale Talon back. He was responsible for the Hawks team that won all the cups.

Bro you have to give bedard time.. he’s on the worst team in the world with little help.. he’s miles better than Jack his first 2 years, and he’s 19 let’s wait 2-3 more years and see what happens but if he can be at 95 plus points a year by year 5 and doing it constantly then that imo is good enough

McDavid and Crosby were 2nd in pts/game in their first two years after being drafted on the second from last teams in the league in their draft years.
Bedard was also drafted to a 2nd worst team in the league...and is 57th in pts/game so far through the first two year. Just be quiet. He's not in the same universe. Every other generational talent from Gretzky, Lemieux, Ovechkin, etc. is the same as Crosby and McDavid. Bedard is not their peer.
