    Wow, some of the comments on here are disgraceful. I can imagine that he'd read these and feel like shit. Great review!

    Very well presented. All the relevant information I required (if only I was in the financial position to buy a Q7). Darren's very natural on camera, and hits all of the important points regarding a family SUV

    The audi is well equiped and has a premium feeling on the interior, but that vw'ish design... This and the new x5 look both like minivans. In my opinion the previuos versions looked way better. As for the prejudice comments on the presenter, get out of your comfort zone guys, this is not tinder. Great review by the way!

    I find it interesting how you often recommend the diesel version. However, diesel has a very unstable future. More cities are banning diesel cars for longer periods because of the poisonous emissions. Furthermore, you should take that to consideration before recommending them as that would also devalue the diesel car faster than the gasoline car. Just a tip that you might want to consider!

    • @frankcree980
      @frankcree980 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are taking your cues from the wrong newspapers, Jake. Diesel isn't dead or dying, nor is it likely to be in the foreseeable future. Look at current, as in January 2017 secondhand values of any car you care to mention in the petrol V diesel debate. The entire world's used car buyers aren't all fools. Then look at the fuel consumption & driving characteristics of big petrol-powered SUVs. 15mpg anybody? Relatively gutless at low revs & all the oomph at the top of the rev range isn't what most of us want in a SUV or anything else, which is why two litre turbo diesels seem to dominate the market worldwide. They have the driving characteristics V economy balance that most people want.

    • @oOJakkeOo
      @oOJakkeOo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frank Cree It's not about what the people want. It's about the NOx emissions and particles, not the CO2. It's poisonous for human beings which is why diesel cars are gonna be completely illegal to drive in Oslo certain days of the year. It's being discussed in Paris and Stockholm as well. Low emission petrol cars are not as big of a problem as diesel cars are. So it doesn't matter if people want low CO2 emissions and great powerful Diesel engines if they're gonna get banned.

      Thank you for your reply Jake, but I am afraid that I still think that you have got it very wrong indeed. Do you seriously believe 10% of the CR** routinely thrust into our faces by governments all over the world on this subject? I most certainly don't, it is almost all lies & distorted "Facts" to increase taxation & control. If you want to see what real atmospheric pollution due to internal combustion is I suggest you look at the world of shipping. The most atmospherically polluted cities in the UK are all shipping ports. It is widely regarded as true that 160 of the worlds biggest tankers or cargo carriers emit as much harmful stuff as every road vehilce on the planet. But there are 10,000 such tankers & cargo carriers in existence & doing their bit for the environment every day. Road vehicles are very small change in the big picture. Direct your ire at the real culprits please. I doubt if you will get far. The worlds governments are well aware of the real situation, but shipping lines can & do change the country in which they are based at the drop of a hat in order to avoid inconvenient legislation & to maximise profits.

    • @oOJakkeOo
      @oOJakkeOo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Frank Cree I do agree that road vehicles are not nearly the largest environmental problem. But it doesn't stop the governments from punishing car owners with higher taxes and "diesel free zones" around the world. I fully agree with your statement! It's not that I don't like diesels (I own a BMW 118d myself) but the truth is that we're going to experience higher taxes for each year and more diesel bans in big cities.

    • @frankcree980
      @frankcree980 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      enjoyable & interesting sparring session which seems to have concluded that you & I pretty much agree with each other on the big stuff. We now have to convince the world's governments that J&F know more than they do so should be put on the books at 10% of the salary of any MEP that you could name. It would still be far more than I have ever earned in my life. Adios.

      Why would you review BMW? They are awful. Ok if you only keep them 4 years after that they will bleed you to the poor house.

      Journalistic values dictate that these people should review all cars regardless of brand, how good they are or what random people on the internet think of them.

    • @graphguy
      @graphguy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      appelpower1
      That is a concept that died 20+ years ago - there is no such thing (at least mainstream media) as journalistic values.

    • @appelpower1
      @appelpower1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Graph Guy We're talking about the automotive press here, not the mainstream news channels. Unlike the OP, the automotive press actually upholds this particular value because they will review anything regardless of brand and quality.
