Regarding the serial number with 222 in it: Elliot Easton was advertising his new Gibson signature SG's on his fb page earlier today, and one of those two had the serial number 'EE 111'! 😊
Looking forward to seeing what you think of the DC Junior. The did a special run in walnut earlier this year as what was billed as a Canadian exclusive. I picked one up. They’re pretty sweet with an in between neck profile. It’s now my go to and compliments my 2020 Classic (Iced Tea Satin,no coil splitting, that was a special run for a music store chain here in Canada).
I’d like to see how you like the reintroduction of the Les Paul Studio. It’s my favorite recent Gibson release. Because of price range and features for the price.
Me like Space Sparkle LP , Me love Olivcado LP , Me really love Flaming Avocado LP , Me dig Pelham Blue ES-335 , Me like TV Yellow SG , and Me thinks Lemon Burst looks so weird ! Thanks Troglys !
Lemon Burst Bigsby had me stunned last week. I seriously thought about it, everything about it was great. I've just never owned a Bigsby so I skipped out. The Koa SG must have been scooped up fast, never saw it.
I think I bought the Koa one within an hour or so (around noon or 12:30 EST)? I was hedging while I watched the number of watchers continue to grow. Jumped on it before it hit anyone else's cart.
4:20 … I like that original Aurora Borealis … but being an Aussie, I need an Aurora Australis model … 🤩☺️ Also quite like Au Naturale, the natural neck on that blue one 👍🏼, and the Olivacado Satin … Studio Smokehouse Satins often look good, Goldtop, LP Jnr … 🙂
If i had the money for the Space Sparkle LP custom, I would install both dimarzio super distortion humbucking pickups and a floyd rose tremolo. Man, why is the custom shop so frickin' expensive?! 😭
I really liked that one and the purple Les Paul Classic, but had just blown my budget (and some) on the previous Demo shop release day (Koa SG Supreme). Otherwise, I likely woud've jumped on one of those.
I watch Mod page for entertainment mostly, as the prices are often in the custom shop range. That new sticker is at least in part to maintain that perception of value, removing the MOD stamp which is a bit ugly.
Black tuners, chrome parts...yes! Miscellaneous this/that shop decals, nope. Funny part is I made water decals Many years ago ( some even for Gibson and Fender) and usually like them. Green LP looks like it needs a red, seeded watermelon 🍉 back.
Loved the looks of the Blue Sparkle and the next guitar in the quilt burst. The third one i swear i hesr you say ofae green . But it reminds me of tapioca pudding whicjh i dont vmcare for much. I know its about Gibsons today but I've got to ask if anyone noticed the similarities in the shape of Fender Meteora to the Gibson Explorer. If you'd do a Meteora in a reverse it would be very similar in shape including having that tail. I like blue but the Cobalt mist SG looks odd. The Water colors okay. The Au Natural which i would think is an unstained or painted finish looks great at least in color. The Special ok. The SG is nice. Except for the shade of green and the binding the Olivacado reminds me of my Studio Greenburst. The Flaming Avacodo reminds me of a Slash anaconda.
Hey Trogly it's my favorite night. So far I like the second lp.also the sg kola top 3 pickups beautiful. Thanks Trogly it was pretty quick tonight. They need more
4:39 I totally disagree: An unpotted, made-in-USA Gibson BurstBucker 2 with AlNiCo magnets is definitely NOT a downgrade. Gibson’s BurstBucker 2 & BurstBucker 3 are my preferred humbucking pickups - with Epiphone’s ProBucker 2 & ProBucker 3 coming in at a close second.
There's something weird with the Cobalt Mist ex-Junior. Look closely and the pickups are placed very oddly. The neck pickup is pushed closer to bridge and the bridge pickup is closer to neck, making them closer together, from stock both Juniors and Specials. How, and why?
Lars from rancid had a reverb sale and sold a 84 explorer but had a matching white headstock I mean not even hetfield had that haha any info on how many were made like that ?
Trogly, seen an old video of the band Alabama Shakes on SNL. The lead singer Brittany Howard was playing an SG with three pick ups in it. The color was Pelham blue. And I noticed that on the Rod cover it says Les Paul. Wondering if this ax is an original or a remake? Thanks.
It's a solid Koa top, about half of the body thickness. The guitar is 7.6 lbs. It's about 1lb more than my SG Standard and the body is thicker to accommodate that top.
My guess is either collectors or bedroom players. But I’d be interested too if any of them are ever gigged. I have several high end guitars, both new and vintage, but they all get played onstage inside or outside regularly. I’m not worried about resale value. There’s no guarantee we’ll be here tomorrow, so enjoy them now!
I thought the demo and mod were the same thing. It's crap ones theyve chucked a new finish on and charging a premium for. And lets face gibson produces alot of QC issue guitars
"I was really tempted", is getting old. Buy it or get off the pot, as we don't need to hear your little jingle that we have heard over and over and over.......

I bought that Koa SG Supreme. It has 3 alnico 3 custom buckers, replacing the Sweetwater exclusive pickups.
Score! That is a beautiful looking guitar.
@@myoptik3x103 Yep, that guitar had me locked in when I saw it lol.
Wow congrats on your new purchase thats an awesome SG!
That’s the danger of watching this channel! GAS attack! 😝🎸🖖🏻
Nice grab, koa tops are some of my favourite looking guitars (I almost won a GORGEOUS koa top les paul custom but I didn't get it :( )
that is a pretty cool looking lemon burst at the end, congrats to the buyer
I really liked that LP Special that's featured in the thumbnail. That light metallic green is really sharp! It just needs a pickguard 👍
Regarding the serial number with 222 in it: Elliot Easton was advertising his new Gibson signature SG's on his fb page earlier today, and one of those two had the serial number 'EE 111'! 😊
That SG Supreme is really striking!
I like that Fae green Special. I don't know why, it just speaks to me. Not flashy, just nice.
Nice to see a non-reverse Thunderbird bass. I have a late 90s version Epiphone. They don't get a lot of love.

I totally missed this while enjoying the newest mod entries! Thanks Trogly! You enriched my life.
Lemon Bigsby, one of my favorites of the night!
I’d like to see how you like the reintroduction of the Les Paul Studio. It’s my favorite recent Gibson release. Because of price range and features for the price.
They actually brought it down a hundred bucks from the last variation.
Me like Space Sparkle LP , Me love Olivcado LP , Me really love Flaming Avocado LP , Me dig Pelham Blue ES-335 , Me like TV Yellow SG , and Me thinks Lemon Burst looks so weird ! Thanks Troglys !
Daaaaaaang! That purple SG looks amazing!
I really like the purple with white/cream accents! Go Bell High School in Bell, CA! Go Eagles!😁
Lemon Burst Bigsby had me stunned last week. I seriously thought about it, everything about it was great. I've just never owned a Bigsby so I skipped out. The Koa SG must have been scooped up fast, never saw it.

“Sparkly Goodness” made me LOL.
I agree

Yeah, those studios are hit and miss, as the wood grain can be erratic. Some are great though!
Fade green was sweeeeeeet
That first Les Paul custom is 🤌🤌
I think it would have been cool if they did the watercolor Les Paul with Red instead of blue to make it a Reggae guitar.
He is right, that is a happenin lemon burst at the end!!
If i had the money for the Space Sparkle LP custom, I would install both dimarzio super distortion humbucking pickups and a floyd rose tremolo. Man, why is the custom shop so frickin' expensive?! 😭
The purple SG modern is really cool 🤘
I really liked that one and the purple Les Paul Classic, but had just blown my budget (and some) on the previous Demo shop release day (Koa SG Supreme). Otherwise, I likely woud've jumped on one of those.
All of the mod collection guitars should be priced like the green one. The pricing for a lot of these is asinine.
I watch Mod page for entertainment mostly, as the prices are often in the custom shop range. That new sticker is at least in part to maintain that perception of value, removing the MOD stamp which is a bit ugly.

What is up with the headstocks? There was a few that looked like it was dented on the left book page looking from the back.

Nice 70s deluxe

Yes they kickin up the mod shop/collection to higher prices😅😜

Did they make 3 pickup SGs in the early 60s? Good question!
Koa top SG supreme or just a veneer. Only asking because Koa is HEAVY. Curious to see a weight comparison with a maple top
It's a solid Koa top, about half of the body thickness. The guitar is 7.6 lbs. It's about 1lb more than my SG Standard and the body is thicker to accommodate that top.
Do any of these wind up onstage or are they primarily bought by collectors?

Probably 90% of all guitars sold, in all of history, never see any stage time.
Yeah noticed that sticker
My weekly dose of Mod Shop guitar porn! Thanks man!
Evening Troglodytes!!!
What was Gibson thinking about changing that decal without asking you first, or did they, come on tell the truth now. LOL
Mod collection seems overpriced
I thought the demo and mod were the same thing. It's crap ones theyve chucked a new finish on and charging a premium for. And lets face gibson produces alot of QC issue guitars
> I'm a fan of affordable stuff.
