When you put the spring in the cage, did you use the low tension or high tension hole? I see the cage has two holes for the spring end.

When installing for the first time, adjustment according to the sprocket is required.
After that, frequent adjustments are not required

Can a 11-40 teeth cassette works with this RD?

According to SHIMANO information, the maximum low gear is 36. It may be usable if the pulley is replaced.

Is it applicable to be use on 10speed Cogs and 10speed shifter. I am wondering what speed is my RD, but it looks like the same on your RD tho.

I have this rd on my trek 6500 2010 model. I'm still using it know. Sad to say its phase out already the shimano deore 9speed rd.
