2:22 check the current reaches or check the voltage?

The leds used to replace, should be SUPER RED type(not only red). If not it seems like whitely...
Orjinal is osram super red leds... Like laser red....

Hello good morning. Have you done something on the board before placing the led strip? I mean, if you've overridden something, or removed any components. Thank you very much for your input

Hello. Actually I don't remember, because I made the strip led chenge few years ago. Then, after some years I replaced it again and I decided to make the video.
But, if I remember well, you can stick the new strip led on the original one.
The work is quite easy. I didn't find specific problems, and you can save some money 😉

Renault Megane 3: Led Strip with 1KOhm resistor in parallel worked for me

Could You please explain how to do it? In my Renault scenic xmod I've removed all components and glued the red strip as in the movie. If I power it with a 9V battery it works, but it is not working on the car. The car voltage measured is 8V.

I thanks very interesting video, can you confirm that the input voltage is 8.5 volts as in the video ?
I made the replacement with the 12 V Led every went right, all the test have been OK up to the install on the car, the light flashed and stop, at the beginning and at the end of the break,
    thanks for the return

Hi for anyone trying this I wanted to give my experience so far - i did the mod and the light works when powered by a power supply, however when on the car it does not light up but flickers slightly when the brake pedal is first pushed down. I am getting a constant 8.5v on the socket so I am not sure how it is controlled to turn on and off but in any case it never turns on, only flickers at the pedal is pressed. I noticed someone else mentioned using a 1KOhm resistor in parallel, perhaps that is the solution but im absolutely clueless as to how the one in the video works (i dont see any resistor, just strands of wire connecting) and mine doesnt! Lots of people seem to have the same issue but nobody has posted if they actually got it to work.

actually I didn't face your problem. I used a standard strip led 12V and it worked without any resistor.
I'm sorry for it. My be the stri led has the resistors inside

@@savingwithdiy2844 thanks for the quick reply - just done some testing, so for anyone who has done the mod and it still doesnt work, the solution is a resistor in parrallel (solder one end to positive terminal and the other to negative on the LED board) - a 1KOhm should be the right resistor - i had a couple of random ones, a 4.7k which was way too big and immediatley got hot and a 2k which does get a little warm but seemed OK after testing for a couple minutes - i will order a 1kOhm and replace to be on the safe side.

So when I add my led cut down strip, the new strip lights up all the time. There is always 8v at the plug? Will the resistor help with this? Or does it mean I have another problem? My original was badly damaged and even worse repair by previous owner. But my main 2nbrake lights work perfectly so I don't think it's a switch issue in pedal

how much is the voltage? it is probably normal. Make the procedure and apply the led strip. It should work

The voltage I get around 8.5 volts all the time. Even without pressing the breaks.
