While I haven’t studied modes deeply, I noticed when learning about them that they’re basically just the major/minor scale starting at different points in the key. There is a bit more to it obviously, but that’s how I think about them at my not very deep level lol
Sounds right to me. As a casual player, my view on it has worked decently well. But i get where really memorizing/learning modes more deeply can be useful for theorists and professionals. I like how your explanations keep it simple though! No reason to make it more complicated.
Yo!!! I just found out this channel of yours!! It is super awesome!!! I wish to get more fluent in playing these guitar licks and scales using economic picking
Right. However, when you play them both. They sound the same because they use the same notes as far as flat 3rd, flat 6th and flat 7th. It's a matter of how you are referring to them. And what the context is.
Awesome thank you so much, great explanation.
Thanks!
keep doing your thing man, you are awesome
Thank you!

Lol, that's the main point. The other main thing is what chord progressions go with the modes. And how they are used in context.

@420Gold thank you. That was my goal with these videos. Short, simple, and right to the poing

Thanks, bro! Now that you mentioned it. I haven't done a video on economy picking. I'm going to add that to the pile now!
Aeolian is a mode and minor is a scale. Different things when it comes to making music! Check modal vs tonal music.

Yes! It is in that way. Thanks you for your content :)
