- Paramaribo is the capital and largest city of Suriname, located on the banks of the Suriname River in the Paramaribo District.
This short series of video clips were recorded in Paramaribo, Suriname on one of my recent visits. I am not a professional with the camera, so pardon the poor quality video at some points. I cannot wait to visit this beautiful city once again and shoot some great videos.

my family is from Guyana but my mother has went to Suriname quite a few times and she loved it. I only saw Suriname across the Courentyne River when I was in Skeldon Market. I would love to go Suriname one day.
It is a nice country to visit. Every country has their own unique culture. We would like to visit there again, but with COVID-19, travelling is so much more challenging

They didn't inherit the Dutch fondness for bicycles by the look of it.
In the past there were many bicycles everywhere and people actually would like to use bicycles. The problem is our infrastructure is so old and the government hasn't invested in more lanes that riding a bike has become quite scary. The only bike lanes now are from the previous century. The population of the city has more than doubled. Only problem the bike lanes didn't. The hot weather is also a reason. In the late afternoon to early evening however, people do ride a lot of bikes, but more in their neighborhoods than downtown. Downtown is also closed and almost a ghost town by that time.
