"Can you beat Chrono Trigger with only Crono?" As at least one other comment already beat me to the punch to say, not only yes you can, but to obtain one of the New Game Plus endings (Developers' Room via facing Lavos using the NG+ Telepod portal before taking Marle back to the castle for the trial) it's pretty much a requirement! Through experimentation I found that not only can you trigger this sequence with only Crono solo before going to 600 AD, you can also still get the ending by going through the Telepod's NG+ Lavos portal while Marle is still in your party after you rescue her but before you take her back to the castle to trigger the trial. The Mature Lavos Shell is still an annoying battle with just two characters, but it's way more manageable than Crono by himself, especially since you have a healer.
Its crazy how old this game is, but has such a good combination of systems story and likeable characters that it STILL holds up to this day. Absolutely timeless rpg.
I honestly expected this to be a bit harder, but it didn't seem like there were that many bosses with a true wall of "must hit with some other element". Nicely done!
He also didn't follow the narrative through to completion. The real end run of the game is the black omen, also by going through the black omen and fighting Queen Zeal you skip the boss rush when you face off against Lavos for the last time.
@@adventureoflinkmk2 When you go to fight Lavos using the bucket at the end of time for example, there will be a boss rush where Lavos imitates most of the other bosses in the game. If you go through the Black Omen and fight Queen Zeal, Lavos doesn't do this.
