    I have a nut that was gifted for 20$ probably worth 20 grand : )- it was red red red until I sanded down the sand out of it. It's still shows red just has all the other colors. Used 400 grit. Still haven't polished it.... one rainy day

    What have you had enough of those big Opal-Nuts to crush and add to automobile paint and paint a car with it.

    Why cut it in half? Why don't they dissolve the stone/clay leaving the the gem

    • @loganwitte3477
      @loganwitte3477 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've wondered that myself so many times. They could chip or grind away at the outside of the stone and have much larger stones

      Opal is a rather soft material, so I doubt many people would want to take that risk and fracture the gem.
      Especially with Koroit nuts, people want the unique patterning present in the rock.

    So they do what? Find opal for other people willing to let them work, its not even their claim... They get paid thousands to dig through rock on someone elses land. Seems like anyone could do their job.

    • @gerardolomeli5062
      @gerardolomeli5062 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes anyone can do any job, I think that has been established, but it also takes a lot of time, passion and a lot of other factors, thus narrowing the herd. Which changes with every conceivable job in the world.
