Planning to transit with kids in this Port Moresby international airport. It should be safe, right?

You will be fine. Where are you transiting from and to? Are you leaving the airport?

Sorry to inundate you with questions, thinking of visiting on a layover but too many sites saying too dangerous...
Did you need to get a visa, if so was it difficult?
Did you need to be escorted around town at all times?
Do they let you visit the hotel for food, so you can get grand views at sunset? dont want to stay a night as on a budget
Do they escort you back to airport? at night?
Anyone sleeping in the airport whilst waiting for their flight?

Yes and no it was not difficult.
Did you need to be escorted around town at all times?
No but like many cities, there are areas you should not go into as a non local. In Port Moresby there are many areas you should not go into without a local to assist you, which is why Laikim PNG does what we do.

You could go down to the harbour in Port Moresby and have dinner at sunset.
Do they escort you back to airport? at night?
Not for something like going to dinner.
Anyone sleeping in the airport whilst waiting for their flight?
No and we do not recommend you do that. PNG has very modern airport facilities and they do not encourage sleeping in the airport.
You can email us at hello@lakimpng.com if you have any more questions or would like us to organise something for you.

Our company is new but we have been in tourism in PNG since 1991. We can find ourselves on Google but you might need to look past a few pages or search for Laikim Papua New Guinea.
