- I take a trip over to see Gaz & my LP640 GT1 inspired road car project to bring you all up to speed on the project & plans to complete it.
With Rieter Engineering R-GT panels from the 2008 Le Mans GT1 class Murcielago, I always knew I was going to have my work cut out making it all work on a road car. But with people like Craig from Dynotorqe & Gaz from TJRBodyworx we have the right team to make it happen!

@@driftworks Fair point. I really appreciate that you're properly engineering this car and then making videos, as opposed to doing a build for the express purpose of creating YT content. You have probably spent more time on the door hinges then some YT builders have spent on their entire builds lol. Great job and keep it up. Happy new year.

Yeah been following them since the first part of this build, all i could say since you pretty much describe them already.
"I would be happy to watch an uncut version" They are to thorough and no rush and very very detailed.
Gaz has done an awesome job creating that transition from the door to the front wing, it looks like factory. this car is going to look amazing

I'm not sure if you are genuinely brave or genuinely mental for doing this build Phil, but I for one can't wait to see the final result. With the V10 Bimmer and the Murci projects, alongside running DW, drifting, and everything else, 2020 is going to be a busy year for you and the crew. Best of luck with it all :D

Yknow what I like about the car modding scene as of late?
We now are seeing people actually also doing road car based builds of GT3 (and so on) cars. To date (to my memory) there’s the guy in Europe w the roadgoing M6 GT3 who’s going to be the second person to do a roadgoing 458/488 GT3 (TJ Hunt did his for SEMA) and then there’s this awesome Murci you’re building.
Dunno if I’ve seen any other ones on social media so far.
Will say I’m interested to see how this build goes along! (Looks like some great progress was done so far)

Mentioned gel coat on the carbon, from what I can see it looks more like it’s pre preg autoclave cured, no gel coat - but much better to work with, sanding etc. Being a high end motorsport fender I’d be very surprised if it was wet lay. Anyway, like the fact you’re doing some composite work 👏🏼 (my job)

Don't rush it. Do it right and it will be one of the most unique builds out on the streets. You should use the paint protection Tavarish used on his Lambo, so you can drive it with no worries about paint damage, stone chips etc.
I'll be getting some PPF on it I'm sure. That thing Freddy had done is way overkill for this. Mines not a million dollar show car 😬
You sure do inspire me to just get things done with my car and not worry about having to cut, weld and just make things work if you want it too. I've started to turn my garage into a carbon/kevlar shop doing trial and error on making myself widebody panels to my c34 Stagea along with other little carbon bits. Keep the great and inspiring videos coming!!

This project is rapidly becoming every V12 lambo lover's wet dream. Your plans for the styling and the way you're integrating the LM panels are on point. Some meister m1's would finish it off nicely 😍

They sell out the booths pretty quick, so check right away if you plan to get your own booth!
We wouldn't be able to do it as our own thing. It has no real value to us as a company to be at SEMA. I'd just like to do it as it'd be cool.
I know you don't want a loud colour, and whilst I agree somewhat - I reckon Lotus Krypton Green (Exige S2 colour) would look incredible on it!! Top build.

Gaz did an amazing job on that door/fender/skirt area!🔥 Oh and, Bertone will hate you for messing around with that rear quarter-panel section. If i remember correctly that "gap" was one of their signature Lamborghini design elements since the Countach. Great to see the build again, looking forward to the rest!
Haha, well the gap will still be there. Just not as pronounced hopefully.
Think the rear arch shape is an intentional styling feature which ties back to the original Countach. Bit of a Gandini trade mark!

I agree with having a tame colour! But I would say, a cream/old English which/ peppermint white colour would look incredible on that car 👌🏼

Thanks. Yeah we've integrated a KW HLS kit on the coilovers into the standard hydraulic lift system.
I was watching this thinking B is For Build, then realized there is simply no bodging going on and talented people are just doing it right. Great job guys.
Haha, I can't promise there's no bodging. We're trying very hard to make i right though. Plus safe. You don't want to be worrying if it can do 200+mph 😆

I love this project and had a simular built on my (now) LOMA GT2 widebody Z06.
The body work, alterations required and paint was done by
"Custom Dreams".
As You mentioned this is time consuming, which most people don't realize.

I would have loved to have seen the OEM mirrors but I'm curious about this glass quarter window idea also. There should be an Ed Bolian or Tavarish link up in the future. Does anyone have a hint to what the colour will be?

I’d totally try and bond some fiber glass or glue some plastic to the fenders where those gaps are to fill in the space, like any other part of the body it’ll be painted.
They aren't mounted or finished yet. There will be now horrible gaps don't worry.

Man I first seen u guys in Outsiders when you'll u went to Japan for the first time to show everyone the drift seen. That was probably the first time I'd seen the culture over there. Only time before that would be Best Motoring, Hot version and besides Superstreet mag. But to see a film about the drift seen and the way of life over there was killer. Not to long ago I was checking out Hoonigan Auto focus on TH-cam with Larry Chen. I recognize you in your Hoonigan Auto Focus feature with Larry Chen. The AE86 which is a straight beast bruh. Now that's a proper kit 😂

A dark blue or green would be great, a heavy deep colour. Or black so you can wrap it in any colour you want ;) However I still prefer lime green :P
There is absolutely zero chance of a dark blue or green. They're right up there with my least favourite car colours on the planet. Only suitable for an old Jaguar 😆. Lime Green is literally the number 1 worst colour on the planet 👍

We're doing 2 a week a the moment. Not so many on the Lambo though as it's very difficult to film in a bodyshop & there's not many video worthy changes at the mo. Once the hinges are finished it'll probably get a bit more interesting.

You widened the front and left the rear stock? It looks quite odd like that, the LMP car is much wider at the back. Wide flares look boss.
The rear is not wider on the GT1 RGT cars. The rear GT1 bumper fits up perfectly to the standard rear quarter panels.
