I have been so excited about this cover all week! Suteki da ne has got to be one of the greatest pieces of music from Final Fantasy of all time, and I'm incredibly proud of our rendition, combining it with Yuna's theme. Yuna is an incredible character - she seems so innocent when she is first introduced, but in the course of the story, one realizes that she has incredible resolve and determination. Her challenge to Lord Seymour was one of my favorite moments of the game, one which makes clear she isn't a person to passively accept her fate. I also loved the continuation of her journey in FFX-2, I thought it was really cool that the same young woman who undertook the summoner's journey would then cut loose and throw away her inhibitions to become a sphere hunter. People are multifaceted, and I love that Yuna ended up being a character who refused to be put into a box. Even though at many points in FFX, Tidus tells us all, "this is my story," during gameplay I quickly got the feeling that Yuna was the star of the show. My party would have been wiped out so many times without her healing and her summons. I'm so happy that we could share this music with you all portraying this incredible FF heroine!

One of these days, I would love to get an erhu for real. :) Until that day, I can vibe that pretty well in things like this. Between that and your epic piano action in the Suteki da ne parts, I think we have a lot to be proud of here.

funny how a piece can elicit a complicated set of conflicting emotions, lovely collaboration on a beautiful song and sound realization for the instrumentation here and the tone you produce throughout is so nice. Well done!
That's as it should be I think! Yuna is such a multidimensional, complex characters. FFX is, I think, particularly good at telling a story that has so many different layers. Thanks for watching!

Yes it's finally time for the epic almost-six-minute-long Yuna's theme! Everything worked out really nicely between the audio and the video editing. Was like "EEP" when the guns were pointed at Tidus/Yuna but thankfully what happened afterwards wasn't shown cause I wasn't ready to see that while being emotionally distraught from your playing *sob* Also gosh dang playing all the violin parts on cello like a boss!
While I haven't timed everything, I think this is the longest piece on the album by a significant margin. Yuna deserves the epic treatment! 😊😊

Thank you so much for this, it's beautiful! I was looking for a version with cello and no violin, since I figured a cello would bring out the melancholic tone in the melody better. You definitely proved that here, and the piano was the perfect accompaniment.

Ok I'm forgetting but wasn't this song originally with a violin? It sounds so GOOD with a cello!!!
In a way, yes! In the original Suteki da ne the violin and the voice take their turns at the melody. Some of it I'm playing down the octave from where the violin would play, but sometimes I'm at the original pitch (I'm pretty comfortable playing crazy high, lol).
I love final fantasy 7 and I love you too. and I want to ask for a new song, created by you. A few minutes are not enough.

The original violin is lovely, for sure! Furthermore, the violinist in the original is most likely the composer's sister, so there is something quite special there. I do my best with what I'm able to do. :)
