    Hi !
    Thanks for the video. I see that you’re using the HDG mode to track the GPS. When is it best to use HDG instead of TRK to track the GPS ?
    Thanks !

      There are differences between autopilots and even the way some autopilots are connected to different GPS that are installed in the plane so each plane needs to be looked at to see the best method. You can usually find good information on when to use each mode in the flight supplement for the autopilot/plane and the user manuals of the autopilot.

    Awesome videos as always! First time seeing an autopilot servo motor test on video! Thank you! Beautiful bird, I’m definitely partial to the C177 and liked the systems on this one

      Thank you. Even though most people don't do it, testing the autopilot is part of the preflight for most models (although some models can't be easily tested on the ground like those with vacuum operated servos).

    Didn’t the (highly-respected) Editors of Aviation Consumer Magazine mention recently that the Skylane is nose-heavy? Juss Sayin’ (don’t yell at me all you Lurkers, please).

      That is a different plane. Skylane is Cessna 182. This is Cessna 177

    I'm an Archer owner who's long ogled the Cardinal. How do they compare? I've never flown the Cardinal, so I don't have any experience with it. Thanks!

    • @aerolife1646
      @aerolife1646  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are fairly comparable depends on the Archer model. Cardinals have the largest cabin for its class and easy to get in and out.

    The STEC 30 in our Cardinal B keeps chasing the heading bug from left to right, back and forth, it won't hold it centered. Have you ever heard of this or know what to do about it? :)

    • @aerolife1646
      @aerolife1646  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was just up in another Cardinal with an STEC 30 that handled just fine. I have experienced that in single axis autopilots before. Might need a systems check.

    I like this Cardinal. Is it fitted with ADS-B that had to be fitted by Feb 2020: if flying in remote (not required)? Required in B,C, D, E airspace.
    * were you flying in the magenta circle on the sectional chart?
    🇭🇲🌏🤔

    • @aerolife1646
      @aerolife1646  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ADS-B required for above 10,000ft MSL and in class C, B airspace. It is not required in G and E. So you can fly and land at those airports without ADS-B including Delta

    • @johnfitzpatrick2469
      @johnfitzpatrick2469 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aerolife1646 Thank you. The way ADS-B has been promoted in GA: 'you don't sit in a plane without one'.
      🅾⁉

    • @aerolife1646
      @aerolife1646  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnfitzpatrick2469 Actually ADSB is very useful to have even though it is not required for some flights. It makes a safer flight. You can see other traffic ( with ADS-B in) and others can see you. You can get real-time weather and other important inflight info.
