    This is one of the reasons I don't do tournaments. I'm convinced that outright cheating or at least bending the rules happens often. I'm a kayak fisherman, and competing in it would absolutely ruin the relaxation and enjoyment aspect for me

In 2020 for nearly a year you had scumbag BLM and ANTIFA and the rest burning down entire cities, looking, and murdering. Attacking cops with molatov cocktails. How many of them are actually in jail now? One year in jail for cheating in a fishing tournament is ridiculous when you consider the crime thats going on in this country right now.

    I live in Guntersville and they actually were fishing a little tournament that fishes every Tuesday and Thursday 5pm to 8pm maybe 15-20 boats at most. They got caught because another fisherman followed them because they kept bringing in big fish and he wanted to see where they were fishing. He followed them one afternoon on one of the tournaments and seen them pull up to a boat house with about 30 minutes left to go in the tournament. One of them went inside the boathouse and came out with a net with fish in it. So he reported them to the game warden who set up and got everything on camera in the next tournament and went to the weigh in and confronted them there. And I think they only lost their fishing license for a year. Prize money was only like $200 for first place

    A few years ago. We took second place behind a couple of guys in a benefit tournament in Missouri only to find out later that the guys were meeting one of their wives at a remote secluded boat ramp and she would have a stock tank with the fish they needed to win. Unfortunately they were long gone by the time a witness found the tournament and testified to what they saw. But the director called the guys and asked them to submit to a polygraph and after 6 months they never complied , needless to say they have not showed their faces in Missouri tournaments since. I call that an admission of guilt . And I will always consider that tournament one of our 1st place wins.

    So, after several conversations, I have come up with a way to punish these cheaters. After they "win" give them the check. Then they have actually completed the crime.
    This provided they have been found to be cheating. Maybe a metal detector wand afterwards?
    Then they can truly be prosecuted.

    • @PurpleLionRs

    Whenever there is competition, people will cheat to win. Some competitive people are just so competitive, that they are willing to cross that line into cheating territory and see nothing wrong with it.
    This is why punishments need to be severe, so that these people might have a chance to second-think what they about to do before they cheat. 'If I do this and get caught, this will happen'.

  • @grandmaj5046
    @grandmaj5046 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The saddest part about hearing of guys cheating in tournaments or poaching animals is what they are doing to these fish and those animals. Men that are going against these idiots are intelligent enough to get past it but once a fish or an animal is dead, it's gone forever and no time spent in jail will ever bring them back. Rules on both fishing and hunting are in place for a reason - to sustain those critters for future generations to see and enjoy and to allow these critters to stay on the planet forever. These nitwits that do this type of thing ruin all that for both the animal as well as humans.

    Do one on Tony Christian. He created some kind of underwater box that had a big fish in it. It had a hole in the top of it that was just big enough for a bait to drop down into it but when the fish would bite it he could pull the top off somehow. He got paired up with a stranger at a tournament and his partner reported it to the tournament officials. He said he wasn't sure how he was cheating, but that he casted to the same dock for 2 hours and then caught a 6 pounder. They went back to the dock and found the basket. Seems like it got swept under the rug...

      Not defending these scumbag cheaters at all, but right now in this country you have legit violent criminals roaming the streets, armed robbers, sex assault criminals, etc....that were arrested and let go 50 fucking times, or more.

    I was in a Tourney when I was a kid. Allatoona Lake in Georgia. Bank fishing only or pier no boats. We had a week to fish. I Caught a Crappie 4lbs 3oz I reeled it in and went to weigh in and I ended up 3rd place. I just enjoyed fishing for crappie and entered the tourney. I knew I caught the fish like they required. It was a nice crappie. I wasn't in a tournament at all but on Allatoona Lake I caught a larger crappie my dad his eyes got as big as baseballs when I showed him that fish. In 49 years of fishing all my life that is the only time ever I saw a crappie over 5lbs.

    The most common cheating is the least talked about atleast where I live. It's guys combining fish from different boats. They don't win everytime but always in the top.

    Did the punishment meet the crime? They allegedly pocketed $400k in the last 2 years. One tournament earlier this year they won $150k. The famous weigh-in we saw the prize money was $30k. So the fines plus court costs, overall it was certainly worth it. Let me know if I'm off base. Maybe the judge did lay the hammer down since they could only be arrested and fined for the one incident. I think more fines and punishments are warranted. Thanks for your channel

      I don't think it's a tournament problem. Most of the people I've fished tournaments with are good people. It's a people problem. It doesn't matter if it's the government, business world, sports, or a spouse. Some people will always do what it takes to get one up on everyone else. But just as there are bad people, I believe there are good people too. Let's shine some light on them.

    I don’t think their punishments are harsh at all! In fact, I think they are a little too light. You have got to make their punishments substantial in order to discourage these types of shady dealings among competitive fishermen! The guys that put leads in fish stomachs or cut the tails of fish to fulfill the slot limits should be made to serve a much longer prison time than these guys as well as having to pay heavier fines!
