Let me flip it upside down again.
The only reason these guys are being made an example of is because they didn't stick to their end of the deal they got in exchange for all this success.
Freemasons expect (the higher you go/more success you get) you to pay higher prices. (Not necessarily money)
These guys are Masons, otherwise they wouldn't be winning. People knew they were cheating all along. "We had our suspicions" but did nothing?! Really?? You buying that? 😏
They got thrown under the bus to this degree (no pun intended) for a reason.
Optics? Draw in more anglers that IF they want to be successful/win then they're gonna have to sign up? 👌🤫
I'm not 100% positive; I'm not a Mason (thank The Lord Jesus Christ) but seems questionable to me. 🤷‍♀️ Just my opinion.

The fourth charge of unlawful ownership of wild animals, this charge stemmed from the walleye fish fillets that were aboard on the day of the tournament, meaning they (Cominsky, Runyan) were over the legal limit of Walleye that day. I would suggest nirite snails for your tank. They are amazing at keeping the tanks clean and they don’t cause more nitrogen and ammonia from the plecos.
Also plecos are more problems than help, they tend to attack your fishes slime coat and there a form of cat fish. Opportunistic and omnivore is a bad mix

My prediction. They will open up other investigations into them and it will provide the out. If they just have this its 3 felonies and the misdemeanor (it's a huge misdemeanor that ties it all back to allow the long arm of the DNR to be involved legally which is generally worse for a defendant) they will have jail time and the fines are actually relatively small. Due to the mis. they'd probably make up their restitution fees just on boat sale alone (it's seized and will likely be auctioned by the state towards that). Now if they open up investigations into past tournaments those are almost impossible to prove beyond here say so it would allow the douchebags to plea bargain down, plea to guiltys on lesser charges across the board, have a larger overall fine (they got cash and equipment to sell, they won't be needing it) and get a suspended sentence and avoid jail altogether. That's my prediction

For the wild animals, it could be they have a snake in a cage or a raccoon in a cage they are keeping. Or it could be they kept those fish with weights in them (which wouldn't be lawful i think)? Thats a very vague charge. I just looked at the PA charge and its taking or possession. So yea, they were taking the walleye to cheat, so thats unlawful. Love to see your channel growth. Happy for you.

People need to realize that those tanks are close to their natural habitat in rivers and lakes. Rivers and lakes have algae and are rarely crystal clear and pristine. The fish are healthier and happier in an environment that matches their natural environment. I took a peice of driftwood from the Ohio River bank and put it in my tank. Within a month the algae had completely taken over the tank. It was a lot more maintenance, but the fish were fine and healthy. It's actually good for them.

The only way they would do time is if it was a federal offense. They will definitely get probation with restitution if they have no extensive criminal background/record. I'm pretty sure their attorney will make a deal with the prosecutor and a couple of the felonies will be dropped and they will plea out to one felony.
