Right up my ally.. easy sub.
I'm a few steps behind, but on the same trail.... need a media mod, chin mount, lav mic, insta 360+mount. Soon enough.
    Thank you great video !

I think your mic is clipping when rideing. I'm listening with earphones.
I also have an Zoom H1 that I to put it under my pillion seat. Great engine sound!
Now I want to try having two microphones into my H1: one near the engine and the other near the exhaust (attached on the inside of a side case rack). Maybe get a second H1 just to have two independed audio sources: easier in post editing!
Also, think of maybe gettin' a Zoom F2 'cause it records in 32bit so gain may not be an issue if I use a +100Db lavalier.
Haven't decided yet, but a second Zoom H1 is more compelling to me.
Sound is 60% more important then the image is.

hey man sorry for the noob question, what is the purpose of the external mic?, would you be using the mic thats connected to the gopro.

The external mic is just for the exhaust sound, I mix the audio when editing so that you don’t just hear my voice and wind noise.
