We know what is happening in the town the Labour party has joined the local Pakistani and Indian migrant 'community .and entered a pact. They could keep their slave labour as long as the community leadership made sure that the Labour party wins all the votes and they have Labour MPs.They have a culture of sleaze and corruption which they brought from the sub continent. And that is the basis on which the labour party work.

Understand your frustration, but I think your conclusion is close but not quite there. Context: I am born and raised in Leicester East (the constituency in question)
The Pakistani Community, Indian Muslim community, Sikh separatist community have a pact with labour for sure. All seem to have a love affair with Socialism too.
The Indian non-Muslim community have (when you look at the GE results) have overwhelmingly fled the labour party as they increasingly come across as anti-india/anti-hindu. This is reflected with the slashing of labour's once 40k strong majority, to 8k in Dec 19.

I live in the middle east. These working conditions are pretty much the same as over here practiced by business owners. The difference is that in the UK is regulated - supposedly. None of these businesses pay tax or contribute to UK society so shut them down. Most of the money is laundered back in Pakistan and elsewhere and/or sent back to families there where it represents a fortune. Shut them down now!

@Asad Premji Then how would you explain how life existed here before mass immigration? There was a good life for people here before Labour destroyed the working class.
What needs to be addressed is the failure of local MPs and local authorities to criminalise the people behind this. Theres two issues here, not just the moral issue of the migrants in question, but the criminal activity of those employing them.
There is also the question as to whether Labour are legitimately elected into power in these areas. It always seems to be Labour areas that are the worst, I wonder why. I wonder who would even vote for such a criminal organisation.

My local area in the UK is rife with it because its an area of big farmland and these unfortunate people are put in the fields in all weathers to pick crops for pennies.
Yet when we locals shout for controlled migration we are branded racists when actually the exact opposite is true. Most people locally want restrictions on migration so that it stops this exploitation of people that have been sold a false dream by human traffickers.
The traffickers take the desperate person's life savings and then tell them the UK is a land of milk and honey where they will get lots of free cash, a free house and a free car. Then they get here with only the shirt on their back and immediately put in a field to work 16 or 18 hours a sat for £2 per hour.
That's why I totally agree with you. They should go home. They probably had a better life there than the trap they're in here.
That's why I can't understand for the life of me how the modern left can justify a totally unrestricted migration system. They claim to be on the side of decency but want to continue a practice that leads directly to modern day slavery. I think it must just be a city bubble thing where because they don't physically see those poor people with their own eyes, then it doesn't exist.

It's a disgrace that this has been allowed to go on unchecked for years. An outside police force should be brought in to investigate and prosecute the business owners, plus local MPs, councillors, police chiefs and any other social services heads because they have been fully aware of the slavery situation, and complicit in it and done nothing except look the other way. Shameful behaviour.
Why haven't the Trades Unions, Labour Party, BLM and other anti-racism organisations organised pickets, boycotts of these companies ' products etc? Seems they only care if the perpetrators were white from hundreds of years ago, because it doesn't fit their agenda that BAME people are ever guilty of exploitation or slavery when in fact the opposite is true!

I live in a small town which is surrounded by open farmland. A couple of minutes drive and your amongst the seemingly endless fields of crops. I regularly see people, widely known they are migrants, in the fields picking crops for pennies.
It's a discrace upon this country that for the fact we are frightened to say "no more!", these poor people are sold a false dream. They are told by those who would shop them here that they will make it rich here, they will get a house and a car given to them etc, then when they get here they find themselves in a field in all weathers getting less than the minimum wage and working from dawn until dusk.
That's why, locally we overwhelming voted brexit and to stop uncontrolled, unrestricted migration. Not because of racism, but because many locals don't want to see the exploitation go on any more. Many of these poor people would have probably had a better life if they had not come here.
The facts are, the local area has suffered from high, generational unemployment as it is, with a lack of sufficient housing and strains upon our already broken local infrastructure that has had very little investment for decades and only one employer in the area accounting for about 90% of the local economy.
It makes you think when you see them toiling away as you drive past where will they sleep that night? What food will they have to eat? If they are ill or injured would they go to hospital or be too frightened because of who they are?
This must stop ASAP. This is nearly the same as traditional slavery and I don't know why or how the modern left can sit there and justifiably defend a totally open border policy when so many people who do arrive are then open to exploitation and eventually find themselves in modern say slavery.

    • @byebyebadman2313
      @byebyebadman2313 3 ปีที่แล้ว

It's hypocritical to call for an end to "modern slavery" whilst saying you want immigration to send these people back to their own countries. I bet you they'd rather be making £3.50 an hour in Leicester than £0.05p an hour back in whatever country they left to come here....it's not right but for many of them its their best option

Maybe that's because the jobs only add £3.50 per hour of value to the industry. Maybe they're better off having a job that pays £3.50 per hour than having no job at all. Its not like we don't have any unemployed. Maybe the minimum wage drives up the price of living as industries need to jack up the consumer prices to balance out the inflated employment costs. Maybe this is why our manufacturing can't be globally competitive, then paired with free trade, why we have decimated industrial towns up and down the country.
That which is good politics is seldom good economics.
The minimum wage is not the exception.

Depending on the country and it's cost of living that can be a pretty good wage. If it's less than a third of UK cost of living, it's better than a UK minimum wage

We have them where I live in Yorkshire. Its not slavery! Its benefit fraud. A certain demographic are more than happy for their women to earn extra cash. A lot of people also work from home, making umbrellas for example. Stop saying theyre vulnerable and just prosecute them

So the Tories have been in power since 2010 but somehow this is Labour’s fault.
Forced labour is not a local issue to be dealt with by local authorities. It is a national issue that should be dealt with by the government. But the Tories aren’t interested unless there’s an opportunity for cronyism.
