We know what is happening in the town the Labour party has joined the local Pakistani and Indian migrant 'community .and entered a pact. They could keep their slave labour as long as the community leadership made sure that the Labour party wins all the votes and they have Labour MPs.They have a culture of sleaze and corruption which they brought from the sub continent. And that is the basis on which the labour party work.
Understand your frustration, but I think your conclusion is close but not quite there. Context: I am born and raised in Leicester East (the constituency in question) The Pakistani Community, Indian Muslim community, Sikh separatist community have a pact with labour for sure. All seem to have a love affair with Socialism too. The Indian non-Muslim community have (when you look at the GE results) have overwhelmingly fled the labour party as they increasingly come across as anti-india/anti-hindu. This is reflected with the slashing of labour's once 40k strong majority, to 8k in Dec 19.
I live in the middle east. These working conditions are pretty much the same as over here practiced by business owners. The difference is that in the UK is regulated - supposedly. None of these businesses pay tax or contribute to UK society so shut them down. Most of the money is laundered back in Pakistan and elsewhere and/or sent back to families there where it represents a fortune. Shut them down now!
@Asad Premji "If we directly compare Pakistan with the UK, the cost of living in Pakistan is 69.62% lower than in United Kingdom (without rent) and rent in Pakistan is, on average, 86.19% lower than in United Kingdom"
When you have Einstein, aka Claudia webbe, as your mp, nothing will change. Keith Vaz managed to avoid addressing this issue for decades, too busy with young men from Romania
A few kickbacks from the factory owners made sure he would never do a damn thing. After all those rentboys and buckets of cocaine don't pay for themself.
Perhaps they should head back home, then. Here in California, we face similar issues (although far, far, worse) and I offer a similar solution; GO HOME!
@Asad Premji Then how would you explain how life existed here before mass immigration? There was a good life for people here before Labour destroyed the working class. What needs to be addressed is the failure of local MPs and local authorities to criminalise the people behind this. Theres two issues here, not just the moral issue of the migrants in question, but the criminal activity of those employing them. There is also the question as to whether Labour are legitimately elected into power in these areas. It always seems to be Labour areas that are the worst, I wonder why. I wonder who would even vote for such a criminal organisation.
My local area in the UK is rife with it because its an area of big farmland and these unfortunate people are put in the fields in all weathers to pick crops for pennies. Yet when we locals shout for controlled migration we are branded racists when actually the exact opposite is true. Most people locally want restrictions on migration so that it stops this exploitation of people that have been sold a false dream by human traffickers. The traffickers take the desperate person's life savings and then tell them the UK is a land of milk and honey where they will get lots of free cash, a free house and a free car. Then they get here with only the shirt on their back and immediately put in a field to work 16 or 18 hours a sat for £2 per hour. That's why I totally agree with you. They should go home. They probably had a better life there than the trap they're in here. That's why I can't understand for the life of me how the modern left can justify a totally unrestricted migration system. They claim to be on the side of decency but want to continue a practice that leads directly to modern day slavery. I think it must just be a city bubble thing where because they don't physically see those poor people with their own eyes, then it doesn't exist.
Check what connections the business owners have with the local council. You normally cannot flout fire regulations and HMRC rules without getting jumped on.
I told Patricia Hewitt face to face at one of her surgeries years ago that his was happening. I took two of my wife’s employers to employment tribunal, both Indian textile factory owners, and won substantial damages from them. Patricia Hewitt knew what was going on
a lot of these workers are signing on universal credit and working. its the same with some taxi drivers and private cab hire.universal credit plus cash in the hand lovely jubbly
@Asad Premji it is the fault of the govermeant a amnesty should be offerd to all illegals so they can pay national insurance plus taxes.the sweat shop owners should be told pay the correct rate .they need to be told if you get caught employing people who are claiming universal credit or taxi drivers private car hire then you will go to jail for at least a year.and your money and houses will be taken if linked to illegal wages and illegal gain on the backs of the poor
Labour and the Unions have sat on their arse for the last 18 months and are still waffling around when it comes to Jab Passports and people rights to work without having a forced on them medical procedure
@Spartacus It's a Labour controlled council you clown, they knew this was going on and did nothing about it just like Labour did with the rape gangs. This has nothing to do with government, Labour wilfully allowed this to happen. They don't care about slavery on their own doorstep and only care about workers rights when it suits them. 🤡🤡
It's a disgrace that this has been allowed to go on unchecked for years. An outside police force should be brought in to investigate and prosecute the business owners, plus local MPs, councillors, police chiefs and any other social services heads because they have been fully aware of the slavery situation, and complicit in it and done nothing except look the other way. Shameful behaviour. Why haven't the Trades Unions, Labour Party, BLM and other anti-racism organisations organised pickets, boycotts of these companies ' products etc? Seems they only care if the perpetrators were white from hundreds of years ago, because it doesn't fit their agenda that BAME people are ever guilty of exploitation or slavery when in fact the opposite is true!
And the benefits office must be looking the other way because when they ask how much you earn and how many hours do you do when claiming they must be fully aware that this is a slave labour employer so why aren't they taking any action when they know its 1ll3gal? I'd rather pay their full benefits than have a slave labour outfit exploit people, even though I dont agree with m@ss or 1llegal 1mm... as we cant cope.
So paying an apprentice or young person £3.50 an hour due to their age isn't exploitation aswell? When they could do more work than me and my dodgy knees yet I'm paid £8.29 an hour?
I'm sorry did she say coercion? What you mean like you must have a medical procedure or lose your livelihood? No problem the government says. As for this I thought brown envelopes were all the rage in official circles these days.
I live in a small town which is surrounded by open farmland. A couple of minutes drive and your amongst the seemingly endless fields of crops. I regularly see people, widely known they are migrants, in the fields picking crops for pennies. It's a discrace upon this country that for the fact we are frightened to say "no more!", these poor people are sold a false dream. They are told by those who would shop them here that they will make it rich here, they will get a house and a car given to them etc, then when they get here they find themselves in a field in all weathers getting less than the minimum wage and working from dawn until dusk. That's why, locally we overwhelming voted brexit and to stop uncontrolled, unrestricted migration. Not because of racism, but because many locals don't want to see the exploitation go on any more. Many of these poor people would have probably had a better life if they had not come here. The facts are, the local area has suffered from high, generational unemployment as it is, with a lack of sufficient housing and strains upon our already broken local infrastructure that has had very little investment for decades and only one employer in the area accounting for about 90% of the local economy. It makes you think when you see them toiling away as you drive past where will they sleep that night? What food will they have to eat? If they are ill or injured would they go to hospital or be too frightened because of who they are? This must stop ASAP. This is nearly the same as traditional slavery and I don't know why or how the modern left can sit there and justifiably defend a totally open border policy when so many people who do arrive are then open to exploitation and eventually find themselves in modern say slavery.
Was having the same discussion only yesterday about how these migrants are sold an impossible dream. I genuinely believe their lives would be better if they'd not come to the UK. They are exploited beyond belief, live in crowded houses with crappy amenities and are most definitely not free or liberated.
Please don't. Her name is Claudia Webbe who is just a bit dim, and a tool of corbyn. She is on trial for assault in September - hopefully there is a bi election.
Ban monthly pay. Many a time I have worked for an employer that has threatened to withhold my last months wage if I don't do overtime or when I've threatened to leave. And you can do nothing. These people know exactly what they're doing and how to get away with it.
We should be tackling current slavery and eradicating it. Not endlessly whining about slavery that took place centuries ago. Well done Mr Bridgen, by the way.
It's because the landlords and factory owners are themselves immigrants from the Subcontinent. Just as thousands of girls were abused by men from the Subcontinent with complete impunity amongst social services, council office era and the police, , the same ethnic profile is at the heart of these abuses.
Slavery is going on today around the world, but instead of moving forward and uniting to stop it, let's constantly moan about historical slavery, and cause more division.
It's hypocritical to call for an end to "modern slavery" whilst saying you want immigration to send these people back to their own countries. I bet you they'd rather be making £3.50 an hour in Leicester than £0.05p an hour back in whatever country they left to come here....it's not right but for many of them its their best option
So andrew its because we are a prosperous country they want to come here maby then we should build back better so we go broke is that what this is all about andrew?
Maybe that's because the jobs only add £3.50 per hour of value to the industry. Maybe they're better off having a job that pays £3.50 per hour than having no job at all. Its not like we don't have any unemployed. Maybe the minimum wage drives up the price of living as industries need to jack up the consumer prices to balance out the inflated employment costs. Maybe this is why our manufacturing can't be globally competitive, then paired with free trade, why we have decimated industrial towns up and down the country. That which is good politics is seldom good economics. The minimum wage is not the exception.
Depending on the country and it's cost of living that can be a pretty good wage. If it's less than a third of UK cost of living, it's better than a UK minimum wage
This guy always has to feed the Tories 'turd sandwiches' to the electorate. He tries to sugar coat them and cut them into bite size chunks. He gets well paid for it I am positive.
We have them where I live in Yorkshire. Its not slavery! Its benefit fraud. A certain demographic are more than happy for their women to earn extra cash. A lot of people also work from home, making umbrellas for example. Stop saying theyre vulnerable and just prosecute them
So the Tories have been in power since 2010 but somehow this is Labour’s fault. Forced labour is not a local issue to be dealt with by local authorities. It is a national issue that should be dealt with by the government. But the Tories aren’t interested unless there’s an opportunity for cronyism.

As unpalatable as that sounds, it has the ring of truth about it.
You,ve hit the nail on the head .
