I never thought I'd see Erich von Stroheim smile, or feel sorry for him; a solid, early effort by Director Anthony Mann, even though the cliched story seemed like an extended segment of "Deadly Women"!
William Lee Wilder was an Austrian-American screenwriter, film producer and director. He was the brother of the film director Billy Wilder and father of television comedy writer and producer Myles Wilder. (Wikipedia) 😂😂😂 William is Billy's brother? Their parents had bizarre ideas for naming children, like George Foreman? 😮😅😅
Imagine Tony Mann having the nerve to direct a great director like von Stroheim! Excellent cast. Sad that Mary Beth Hughes ended up as a telemarketer late in life--and even got laid off from that job.
Watched, and loved, the two seasons of "Harry O" (and its *two* pilots; the second BTW, co-starred Jodie Foster) here on yt last year. An irony: The show introduced its audience to Farrah Fawcett. She was then cast on the horrible "Charlie's Angels," which effectively replaced the canceled “Harry O” in ABC’s Fall 1976 lineup. How could they do that to the star of "The Fugitive"? Blasphemy!
@drbenway4 I worked, for only a few months, at a condo building in the Beaver Creek Ski Area, Colorado. One day, I learned that Anthony Z was "staying for a momth" but "absolutely no visitors" ("don't bother him!")... I did speak on the phone with him, very briefly. That saddened me: my experience up in the mountains was that celebs usually liked the locals, but not our tourists. But for that one minute... he and I spoke...

Erich von Stroheim was a colossus! Always a great pleasure watching him perform. He was brilliant in "Sunset Boulevard".
Yes, yes, and yes again for Sunset Boulevard!

Good movie, thank you for sharing 😊
Dan Duryea is the Anthony Zerbe of all Boris Karloffs
Loved Zerbe on "Harry O".

Erich Von Strohiem,
The man everyone loves to hate.
I was surprised to hear the word 'moron' 😮 in this movie
Didntnthink that word was invented back then😊. Hahahaha!!!!

@@RussMcClay sounds like me hahahahha
x. She finally..oh, I'm giving it away.
Great movie...really enjoyed it. Thank you.
I wonder what Flamarion's insurance rates are like with that act he has.
Connie was pretty much the definition of Trash.
Connie was cunning as a 🦊fox.
I mean the shooting act could have been more realistic, bullets flying everywhere cmon….
Great classic flick!
