Generally, what would you use a knife that big for? I love the old round knife I found (its about 4"), but do you have a specific task you'd do with a knife like that?
It's much easier to skive with a large round knife than a small one, so I bought it for that, but now I like it so much I use it for almost everything.

Outstanding work. One question though. Did you case or dampen the leather prior to craving and stamping?
It's a great salmon cutting knife used usually in Alaska= Ulu Knife.

That was very thick leather to sew thru maybe 12 ml, fantastic job, hope the round knife is good for you, couldn't make out the makers name?
The round knife is a large Vergez Blanchard from France.
What did you put on the leather to make it so dark ?
