  • Today we are showing you the EASIEST way to split wood and the fastest!
    Hi, we are Matt & Sara. Along with our 4 kids, our dog, our cat, kittens, 4 pigs, a lot of chickens and even more bees we have been developing our homesteading lifestyle. After over a decade on our property we are finally debt free and using our new FREEDOM to do what we have always wanted to do (be more self reliant)!

    Good video and good idea. We just got done cutting our wood last week. We are lucky enough to be able to have enough wood on our property to cut. We dry ours the same way. Thanks for all the tips.

    Great plan! Matt have you ever seen the centrifugal wood splitting wheel? Dangerous. I'll have to upload a short clip on it.

    We heater with wood for 30 years. We lived in woods and only cut wood that was already dead. Mostly dry wood. We put our wood in an old corn crib. That worked awesome to store it. We built a wood room right off the basement where the stove was. I loved the heat but hated the mess.

      That corn crib would be awesome. The new stoves aren’t to bad with be dirty.

    And to think we just stack and burn trees that we take down or that fall. I mean people sell and keep firewood down here, but not too many and we probably waste so much.

      😆 yeah it doesn’t go to waste around me 😃

    Do you use another form of heat for the winter, or just the wood?

    • @mattsara2802
      @mattsara2802  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Just wood. But we leave our furnace at 60 but haven’t used it in 8 years. Well we run the furnace for a couple hours every spring to clean it out and make sure it works.

      @@mattsara2802 wow… and you only use 3 cords every year?

    • @mattsara2802
      @mattsara2802  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes the most we ever used was 3.5 cord.
