*take a shot of water every time I say the Y2K*
Also there were a lot of things I left out about y2k fashion, especially in regards to the body confidence destructor that is low rise jeans and their affect back in the early 2000s, but also problematic affects that only pushed one body type and race in general and how that affects the current resurgent into early 2000's style. I wanted to keep this as light hearted as possible and also test out this format for future themed aesthetic mystery boxes. I think the next one I do I'll go more in depth on the "explaining the fashion" part. If you do want a little more of an in-depth look into the early 2000s trends that are coming back, I recommend watching this video 👉🏼th-cam.com/video/cljCCCBZlpE/w-d-xo.html

I’m glad you said this because, while these outfits looks great on you, the styles are definitely not fat friendly. Obviously fat women can where whatever the hell they want, but we live in a world that definitely doesn’t support those women when they do. A lot of y2k fashion feels very “is it fashion or is she just skinny?”

I think what bothers me about y2k fashion is that it was made for only a very specific body type that not many people have. Even at my lowest weight, I had wide hips and big boobs, so none of the stereotypical y2k fashion looked good on me. People can wear whatever they want and feel comfortable in, but I just can’t do it it lol!

One thing I've noticed as a nineties baby (and 90s fashion lover) is that the trends of this era were almost exclusively geared towards really thin bodies! I feel like recently the trends have been way more body inclusive (cottagecore, baggy jeans, oversized tees, etc) whereas low rise jeans, baby doll tops and pants with the hips cut out just would be SUPER unflattering to most of us haha.
Loved this video Alexa I'm so proud of you for exploring this era of fashion!

I also struggle with y2k fashion! I think the main problem for me, as someone who is born at the end of the 90's is that I wore variations of these outfits as a kid. I love this dress you’re wearing, you look so pretty and pastel-y today.😊 Love the video. Becky did really well choosing stuff for you. And we really have different styles and such, we have different opinions. Not because it's the trend we should always be in it. Like everyone says, we have our own perspectives.

I wore a string biking top under a shirt like that before! The strings are thin so they don’t stand out but still provide some support/coverage. I love the black cardigan outfit!!

It’s okay I’ll admit it, I’m a Y2K hater. I like simpler clothing and Y2K is literally the opposite. On top of that most of the trends are not kind to a body type like mine. If you like it, rock it, go all in and have fun. But it’s definitely not for me

I want every piece! I was in prep in primary school in year 2k so perhaps I am now reliving the fashion I saw that I didn't really get the chance to enjoy 😄

Ok!! The outfit with the white top and pants were amazing on you. In fact I think the messy bun really worked with it. 😃 Also those sketchers sandals what a throw back to my child hood... I had a pair of those and they hurt my toes too! 😂😂I’m like you... I am having trouble getting on the Y2K trend cause it was the style of my adolescence and even at the time I didn’t really like the styles. Buuut I am open to parts of them. Fun video! 💕

I’m not really into the Y2K style either but everything in the box was so cute and I feel like goes with your style! The patterned pants are so cute and that cowl neck top looked AMAZING on you🥰 for the pink top I’d say maybe style it just with some mid wash jeans or even your cow print pants, even though I think it looked great with the pants you had it with! And if you think the color is too bright add a denim jacket!

I would definitely feel very uncomfortable with a corset top, but I have a bright pink vintage tank top that I love pairing with these funky black + white pants! Looks great together if you ask me. And those outfits look good on you.
