It occurs to me Klay had bad energy and entire season took away from the Younger players.
I’m glad that they booted post prime Thompson. Now the young players will fill the roll nicely.

Since Klay Thompson is gone and Warriors enter a new era, why not trade Draymond Green + picks for Lauri Markkanen. Now you have two 7-footers that can rebound, block, shoot 3s and stretch the floor for Kuminga and Melton to slash

Klay was great, but he was washed last year. Podz, and Moody are instant energy and played really hard. You need Moody, Kuminga, TJD, and Podz need to play.
I think it will depend on how they fill the roster but yeah, we saw last year old Klay and Draymond weren’t great on the floor together. Not enough scoring. Not enough speed.
Honestly I’m fine with more Moses Moody Minutes; say what you want I wanna see what Moses does with klays shots

Kerr and Curry ETAL relevant players should be taking a page from Doc Rivers play book when they went to Houston to DeAndre Jordan's house to show him that they really want him back with clippers when signed with Mavericks. They should be heading to Klay's House now or wherever he is and show him they really want him with the Warriors. At this stage of free agency, even if they sign Markkanen, Warriors will need another shooter like Klay who is familiar with Warriors system as opposed to a new player who has to be indoctrinated to Warriors system, trained and adapt to the system in a very short time. Not to mention to fit with the Warriors personnel. On top of it salary wise is 2 million apart, plus it can be spread out over 3 years which would be easier to salary cap issue. Right now they are the biggest loser in this free agency. I am aware that you think Warriors are better off without Klay I am sorry to disagree but not really. If you can look at the whole picture in a short or long run and given the talents that's available and the caliber of the top elite contenders in the association, talents and time play a very crucial role to the strategy. You must also understand that 3 year contract is a long time and at any given time that can change if there is a willing trading partner. All of these should be made to all parties.
So we have a 16 million trade exception, another 4.7 in space, wiggs is making 26, can't we use that all together if we deal him ? Another 9.7 for Payton
I might be wrong but I believe a TPE can be broken up across multiple players but it can’t be combined. Still, $16mm TPE could be valuable in the right situation.

He was valued at a higher price so it's a good deal no matter the opinion
He’s a better player than Klay at this point and Klay got $17mm a year and we got him for $12mm. Slightly worse shooter, better penetration offense, and infinitely better defender. We now have a point of attack defender in case Wiggins never gets it back, and Klay lost it years ago. A great pickup.

He was a free agent. We shouldn’t have gotten anything. Two 2nds and a $16mm trade exception out of thin air is pretty great all things considered. Warriors offered $48mm for 2 years. Klay thought he could still play and walked away from it. He was wrong about his abilities and his market. I still love him. But this is more on him than the team.
