    Great overview. It really helped to get me thinking about organizing all I'll need to do to move forward with my project.

    Great video! But the background music is too loud I think you can change that in IMovie.

    Thanks a million for your great videos and sample bylaws etc to help us start our own 501c3. I can't believe there aren't more likes on this video. Actually, TH-cam needs a "love" button too :-) thanks again.

    Can these forms be completed online or should I print them out?

    The tax exemption form is 1023? Where did this 3500 come from I'm filling out right now? haha also, There are a lot of questions on income and expenses. What if We haven't started the non profit yet? We are planning to send in articles of incorporation to become an entity and the exemption application at the same time. what is a ct-1? Are there really this much stuff to go over and keep track of? or am I doing this all wrong? any help is appreciated, thanks!
    overall, what forms specifically do I need to be a normal non profit in california and be tax exempt?

    Hi I saw your website and I am going to take your course. Is there a way to ask you specific start up questions and get your advice?

      Hi, we don't offer assistance like that right now - but I highly recommend the Nolo Book, "How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation". It is what I used to start my nonprofit. Here is a link - nonprofitally.com/nolo

    What about a constitution? Isnt one needed when creating a nonprofit ?

    • @npally
      @npally  ปีที่แล้ว

      THere is nothing I have heard about needing a constitution. It is bylaws and articles of incorporation that are needed.

    Hello I’m starting a nonprofit in Florida can I have my brother and mother be on the board

    • @npally
      @npally  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is nothing illegal about having a family member on the board at the federal level. And likely at the state level as well. Just be sure your bylaws include good conflict of interest clauses. The issue with having relatives on the board is the perception. It can look suspicious by those who are looking for a reason to question you organization. Best to avoid it, but there is nothing illegal about it.

    hi Steve, I like to start a NON PROFIT, To help to feed and clothes the homeless. would it be easier to hire a lawer

    • @SteveVickAK
      @SteveVickAK 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be easier. For sure. The cost can range, but I'd expect to pay a couple thousand dollars. Check out this podcast nonprofitally.com/podcast-how-to-apply-for-501c3-tax-exemption/. It gives good tips from a nonprofit lawyer.
